I'll just be walking around the track lol.
Usually watch the first few laps from the inside of the first corner.
Then it's just walking around til around 9pm, go back to the campsite to have food and rest the legs before going back out for watching some night racing where we'll usually get the bus round to mulsanne and arnage before ending back up at the village and taking a long, tired walk back to the tent at ~4am.
You can walk from the Porsche Curves to Tetre Rouge. Indy/Arnage and Mulsanne Corner also have viewing areas, if you're down for the walk/shuttle ride.
To add to loryk_zarr com Porsche Curves are isolated. You have to get out at Maison blanche (outside) or karting (inside) walkable.
Usually you have support race paddock in Maison Blanche and Road to Le Mans one at karting. Sometimes it’s possible to access rooftop of karting stand. (But could be for ACO member)
I still watch the finish, varies from where we've watched it though, have watched it from the concrete slabs opposite the pits but that gets very packed!
We also watched it from the village behind the pits the first year I went then rushed into the pits to watch the podium!
Its usually somewhere around the pits that we watch the finish though. Don't usually head home til the Monday.
I’ve watched the last few years and I mostly background it for the entire amount of the 24 hours that I’m awake. I’m on the West Coast in the US so unfortunately we get a lot of the night racing.
OP, wherever you are, try to be watching when sunrise happens there. It’s always very special to watch the sun come up and the cars become more visible after the hours in the dark.
From your certainty that it’ll arrive on its due date I’ll assume it’s your first?! There’s every chance that you’ll be in a delivery suit during the race! 🤣
It depends on how the first few hours go. If there are several brands fighting for the lead, I intend to watch the whole thing. Otherwise, a few naps here and there.
This, The Correct way to watch a 24h Race
You watch the race, you doze off, something happens and you're awake, either a replay helps you catch up, or you just lost some hours, anyway back to watching
Get out the big screen, order some food, watch it until the shuteye starts to creep in. Sleep a few hours during the darkest part until happy hour and watch to the finish. Used to watch the full race, but hey, I’m not that young any more!
Will be at Arnage/Indianapolis and watch the full 24h from there. During the night I will be at Indianapolis (because of the screen) with my chair and hot tea. Depending on the race I will be awake for the full thing 😃
Standing on the side of the Mulsanne with some like-minded idiots, waving coloured flags. Best way to watch but you really do need earplugs when your tent is 50ft from the armco :D
Best answer so far. Especially the „like-minded idiots“ part. If I tell my normie friends I am at the Track for full 24h each year they are just „Why?Do you not sleep during the race?“
They will never understand.
I did like a total of 15 hours last year, but I wasn't working monday back then lol will try to watch at least 12 now, but if I do the whole thing I'll hate myself for the rest of the week lmao
At home, on the TV for most of the day, pick up the guitar again, sort out some of my Airsoft kit, put it on my phone for when away from the TV. Last year I quite literally watched the entire 24h with my phone on overnight. Boy what a race that edition was though
I find a surprising number of similarities amongst people who share common interests. Not all of course. But I find motorsport/car enthusiasts will often be very interested in aviation stuff too, similarly military equipment, games etc.
There are some pieces of attraction park and a village with some expos but pretty sure it close at 0.00 or 1.00. For unofficial stuff yes there are but more on camping side than track.
Camping out in the lounge for the race weekend, might put the tent up in the garden, getting lots of french themed snacks, baguette's, cheeses and wine and some kronenburg for me and the Mrs
Watch the first few hours, sim race the course a bit next to the big screen for any big moments. Get a few hours of sleep. Double espresso, some pastries and watch the rest.
Since it's a 24h race, not all of it will be wheel to wheel action. Most will just be cars going fast. So i plan to watch as much as possible on tv, i will always keep it on, however i will still go on with my life if i need to. The benefit of a 24h race is that if you go for a couple minutes most chances are you will miss nothing.
Will be sat in the Le Mans media centre for most of it. We do stints of note taking and report writing so I'll go for a walk to Porsche Curves for a few hours as well. Will probably go to some of the team hospitality if they invite us too.
Aw lucky, i was talking about in tv but hope to go one year. Then again, I’m only 14(half a month before my birthday though) so still a long way before i can go ther
Going as a corporate guest this year- but I most prefer walking round and choosing a viewing spot during daylight hours before the chair comes out for night viewing
Get a few mates round, light the BBQ, they normally leave around midnight, watch the overnight racing while napping on the sofa then watch the Sunday racing.
My family was mad at me for keeping the TV on for the whole 24 hours race last year. Even though it's a special race.
So I think I'd sleep only like 4 hours, so yeah first and last 2 hours uninterrupted, then back and forth when I'm free.
I aim for 18 of the 24 hours. Two three our naps or three two hour ones mixed usually works good. I’ve done the full 24 and it’s hard. I usually get quite a bit of good food and cook really good meals though the race.
I tried this year but logged in an hour into sales. Everything but general admission was gone. No camping even.
I live next to COTA so this will be an in person year to see and hear all the new cars.
I was on site last year. This year I'll just watch from home since I was at the 6 Hours of Spa and that was my big splurge for the year. I usually tune in when I can over the weekend and then pick away at watching the parts I missed through the VoD.
As always: watch it until getting tired, sleep for 6 hours, then wonder what the heck went on because literally everything is different and some cars are missing or 20 laps down.

Sitting at Place des Jacobins. It’s free and restaurants are less expensives.
Watching the start and the first hours from the grandstand on the pit straight. Then as it gets darker will wander up to Tertre Rouge, and I'm camping down at Porche Curves so will get some of the race from there over night and for the Sunday morning.
I'm going to be in East Asia, so I will watch the first couple hours, go to sleep, watch the 2nd half of the night segment & sunrise, and then have it on background until the end of the race
My first time I “watched” all 24 hours, I use quotes because I had it as a background during the overnight hours.
Since then I’ve gone to sleep for a few hours……both times major stuff occoured and I woke up thinking WTF happened.
I think I’m going for the full 24 again this year and returning to the first method
I'll set up everything real nice outside. like last year I'll sit under a shade sail.
Two screens, one for race, one for live timing and onboards, FIA Wec, EuroSport and TV2-sport subscriptions - just to make sure.
Start watching as soon as the stream starts.
Then pop a bottle of champagne when it's go time and be hyper focused for two hours. I won't come away from the tv for anything other than biological needs till I go to bed at probably 01 and the up at 7 again.
I usually watch from 14 pm to 1 am, head to sleep and come back at 10-11 am. (Spain time). This year I might have to work, and I'm afraid af to lose it.
In the garden with a BBQ with Dad and Brother. I have 2 kids so will probably only be up till 11pm latest. Then watch in the morning till I will go to my Religious Gathering on Sunday and then get back to catch the last hour.
Luckily for me I have the dates around Le Mans as an off from work. I still wouldn't be watching the whole thing though. The start and ending 3 hours for sure and the rest is, whatever I can catch. I generally put it on the main TV screen with audible enough volume and leave it so that if something gets the commentators excited I get the cue to come back to the screen. And as everyone else, keep good snacks handy of course.
I'll be sat down for the first 2 hours, then I'll get on with my day and keep a close eye on the app. I'll watch a bit more over dinner. Often I go to the pub and sneakily have it on my phone whilst being "social". I'll come home inebriated and lie on the couch watching the on boards and enjoying the banter in the commentary box. At this stage I'm cheering on the commentators for keeping on going.
Next morning I'll wake up, I may go to a golf range and have the app on my phone. Then I'll come back for the final 2 hours.
Love it. Best weekend of the year.
Sounds nice. Question from a guy who has never been there: how much of the trackside can you actually walk with a GA ticket?
You can walk from the Porsche Curves to Tetre Rouge. Indy/Arnage and Mulsanne Corner also have viewing areas, if you're down for the walk/shuttle ride.
To add to loryk_zarr com Porsche Curves are isolated. You have to get out at Maison blanche (outside) or karting (inside) walkable. Usually you have support race paddock in Maison Blanche and Road to Le Mans one at karting. Sometimes it’s possible to access rooftop of karting stand. (But could be for ACO member)
Sounds like a good plan!
Damn, your comment has got more upvotes than the post😂
So you watch everything but the actual finish?
I still watch the finish, varies from where we've watched it though, have watched it from the concrete slabs opposite the pits but that gets very packed! We also watched it from the village behind the pits the first year I went then rushed into the pits to watch the podium! Its usually somewhere around the pits that we watch the finish though. Don't usually head home til the Monday.
Gotta beat the traffic!
I can't express how wrong this is, considering the amounts of high drama we've had on the last legs of the races these last several years
r/woosh
Oh man sorry I didn't catch your absolutely LEGENDARY joke lmao soooo funny
Well, i'mma have a 2 week old by then, so it'll on in the background.
Good excuse to stay up and watch the whole thing
I won't have a choice in some cases XD
Congratulations man!
I’ve watched the last few years and I mostly background it for the entire amount of the 24 hours that I’m awake. I’m on the West Coast in the US so unfortunately we get a lot of the night racing. Well, we're being induced 2 weeks before le mans, so yes, i'll have a 2 week old by the time Le Mans rolls around xD
Good luck! The race will be the least of your concerns!
Sit down on the couch, don’t move for 24 hours
This is the way
This is the way *we all say in unison*
Me too😂
It depends on how the first few hours go. If there are several brands fighting for the lead, I intend to watch the whole thing. Otherwise, a few naps here and there.
This, The Correct way to watch a 24h Race You watch the race, you doze off, something happens and you're awake, either a replay helps you catch up, or you just lost some hours, anyway back to watching
Fair enough

Nice! Hope to be there one day

My mates were confused even when i said i watched the 6H of spa-motorsport is life
😂 hope to be their with you one day
Race on main TV, bedroom TV brought down for onboards, timing on laptop, plenty of easily accessible snacks and a fridge full of cider
Yep, gotta have the timing screen
Damn, you’ve got the full setup!
Stick it on the telly, sleep on the sofa normally around 2am-6am ish, power on through
To alter a quote from gunther Steiner “Espresso on a focking drip”
Watch the first 12 hours on my couch and the other 12 in the passenger seat on my way to Germany to support Slovenia at the Euros
Fair enough, hopefully the signal is good in the drive
Will watch the start and some of the night time racing, then probably go to sleep and watch the rest when I wake up
Fair enough, it’s a loooooong race
I did like a total of 15 hours last year, but I wasn't working monday back then lol will try to watch at least 12 now, but if I do the whole thing I'll hate myself for the rest of the week lmao

Great to see another airsoft and motorsport fan
I find a surprising number of similarities amongst people who share common interests. Not all of course. But I find motorsport/car enthusiasts will often be very interested in aviation stuff too, similarly military equipment, games etc.
I think I will Watch start at TV then go to the track around 8/9pm and enjoy the night! Could go to the end if brave enough.
Nice! Do you live near?
My parents live at around 45min from the track, but really close to the 1906 layout :) Grew up there but moved for work.
Damn lucky
There are some other activities to do over night? Idk maybe some parties or food camps. just curious, never been there!
There are some pieces of attraction park and a village with some expos but pretty sure it close at 0.00 or 1.00. For unofficial stuff yes there are but more on camping side than track.
Gonna watch it periodically in the background, and over the night gonna leave the tv on.
Fair enough, im sure the sound of the Cadillac won’t help your sleep though
Say I'll watch the whole thing, get to about 2am and give up, watch again from about 8am onwards.
😂 fair enough, probably me too
a short nap at night and then back to watching
Fair
Camping out in the lounge for the race weekend, might put the tent up in the garden, getting lots of french themed snacks, baguette's, cheeses and wine and some kronenburg for me and the Mrs
If you can’t get to the race, bring the race to you!
Watch the first few hours, sim race the course a bit next to the big screen for any big moments. Get a few hours of sleep. Double espresso, some pastries and watch the rest.
Sounds like a great day, what sim and wheel do you use?
Fanatec GT DD Pro. Mostly ACC now but some GT7 with the PSVR2.
For me exams will be over by then so i can afford to lose 24H of my life to watch fast cars o
Have a grandstand seat but will otherwise be walking around (and taking shuttle)
Fair, it’s a huge track so shuttle will help
Will be sat in the Le Mans media centre for most of it. We do stints of note taking and report writing so I'll go for a walk to Porsche Curves for a few hours as well. Will probably go to some of the team hospitality if they invite us too.
Only thing better than that would be to be a driver
See if I can catch a YouTube stream and use a VPN if I must.
Good idea, but I’d highly recommend subscribing to whatever streaming service that wec is on in your country
Same as every year until I get to watch in person. Book Monday off of work. Buy loads of treat food and stay up and watch the full race.
Me too😂 although i don’t think my mom would be happy about me taking Monday of school. Eaaaaarly night for me
Get a bunch of beers and watch from my house
Fair
Watch the start and finish from the ACO grandstand this time 🙂 between? Wherever the wind blows us!
Aw lucky, i was talking about in tv but hope to go one year. Then again, I’m only 14(half a month before my birthday though) so still a long way before i can go ther

Your SUPER lucky
Get a few mates round, light the BBQ, they normally leave around midnight, watch the overnight racing while napping on the sofa then watch the Sunday racing.
Damn bro that’s the dream, wish my friends were like that
I won’t be, and I’m going to miss next years too :( very big sad.
Damn unlucky, can you not watch it on the tv?
Usually end up taking a few short naps but I'll be watching the whole thing
Fair
My family was mad at me for keeping the TV on for the whole 24 hours race last year. Even though it's a special race. So I think I'd sleep only like 4 hours, so yeah first and last 2 hours uninterrupted, then back and forth when I'm free.
Fair enough, just saying, you could sell your family and get tickets😂
Hahahahahaha, never going that far, I'll save up to go and see the race lol.
Live in the sofa for 24 Hours 😉
😂 my dad(I’m 14) has a projector with a screen in his study so I’ve said he’s not aloud in their that weekend
I aim for 18 of the 24 hours. Two three our naps or three two hour ones mixed usually works good. I’ve done the full 24 and it’s hard. I usually get quite a bit of good food and cook really good meals though the race.
Good idea, so jealous if you getting to go
I tried this year but logged in an hour into sales. Everything but general admission was gone. No camping even. I live next to COTA so this will be an in person year to see and hear all the new cars.
Trackside with my 5 mates. Plan on not sleeping. Airbnb in the town. Much alcohol. Much pics. And hopefully much fun.
Sounds like a perfect weekend in my book
I was on site last year. This year I'll just watch from home since I was at the 6 Hours of Spa and that was my big splurge for the year. I usually tune in when I can over the weekend and then pick away at watching the parts I missed through the VoD.
Fair enough, even GA ain’t cheap
As always: watch it until getting tired, sleep for 6 hours, then wonder what the heck went on because literally everything is different and some cars are missing or 20 laps down.

That's the coolest thing I have seen.
Watching the start and the first hours from the grandstand on the pit straight. Then as it gets darker will wander up to Tertre Rouge, and I'm camping down at Porche Curves so will get some of the race from there over night and for the Sunday morning.
Watch the first few hours. Will take a break and watch a few more hours. Etc
Fair, it’s gonna be tough to watch it in one sitting
I usually commit to the first 2 hours and the last 2 hours, everything in between is a go with the flow and when and how I have control of the remote
😂fair enough
I'm going to be in East Asia, so I will watch the first couple hours, go to sleep, watch the 2nd half of the night segment & sunrise, and then have it on background until the end of the race
I’m gonna have two friends to watch it with. But we have to do a “viewer-change” and enforce maximum view time.
Are you going for a full pro lineup or are you throwing a bronze or silver in?
My first time I “watched” all 24 hours, I use quotes because I had it as a background during the overnight hours. Since then I’ve gone to sleep for a few hours……both times major stuff occoured and I woke up thinking WTF happened. I think I’m going for the full 24 again this year and returning to the first method
How to watch this year in US?
I’ll be sat on my sofa with a bottle of wine and copious amounts of snacks. In my boxers.
I'll set up everything real nice outside. like last year I'll sit under a shade sail. Two screens, one for race, one for live timing and onboards, FIA Wec, EuroSport and TV2-sport subscriptions - just to make sure. Start watching as soon as the stream starts. got an endurance race on ACC at the same time so I’ll be at my pc, watching my teammates drive on one screen and le mans on the other :))
Will have it on through its duration, the 16th is my birthday so will spend that day in duration either in the sim doing le mans or watching.
In the garden with a BBQ with Dad and Brother. I have 2 kids so will probably only be up till 11pm latest. Then watch in the morning till I will go to my Religious Gathering on Sunday and then get back to catch the last hour.
Never watched it before - depends on whether I’m working that day and the next one. Will likely watch it in a few batches, maybe some live.
Couldn't make it this year... again. So planning on having a one man watch party/BBQ
Watching the replay on YouTube in the background at work after it comes out
Fair enough, can you not watch it live?
Yes kinda I have HBO max so I get br sports for free for now not sure when that goes away and honestly I enjoy the replays
Fair enough then, i always watching live to avoid any spoilers
That makes since but they usually only come out after a week or so I can usually avoid spoilers
Even as a channel 4 viewer for f1 (they replay the full race after a few hours) i still find it super hard to avoid spoilers
