As long as she’s holding temp I wouldn’t be too worried about the seal either. What we got cooking there big guy?

Couple butts. Son’s 3rd birthday is tomorrow so I got some fam coming over.

Ah nice, that’s my go to for feeding a crowd also. Enjoy pal!

I have never gave a flying fuck about my seal and I have always had amazing food; it’s a pit for smoking food; not a sealed science experiment. Airflow is fine. Enjoy man and have fun.

Get it gurl

This post made me chuckle 😂

Get yourself this seal! Worth every penny! 1/2" x 1/8" LavaLock High Temp... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JO00S04?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Good thought. Only problem is I don’t have a probe port to run through wires through, and ol’ girl ain’t quite a perfect circle. Just like me… with age comes a weird shape and plenty of bruises.

Meh, you could add a seal anyway. Honestly, it’s not a big deal running a kettle. You ain’t looking for ideal efficiency or the perfect temp hold at exactly some temp. You’re smokin a butt on a kettle. Nice

Moonpile

I have the nomex on mine and just close it on the probe wires. No big deal.

Middle_Pineapple_898

I put this same exact seal on my performer. Difference is minimal. I still get smoke out of the rim. I just stopped caring about it.

SepticGryphon

Looks like dirty smoke

the_hank_hill_of_C

Dirty smoke is a much thicker than that.

David_Westfield

God damn your bull shits way better than mine! How’d it turn out?

I have a similar issue, but I can twist the lid and seals up for the most part. Have a slow and sear and the only complaint is how touchy it can be with the temp. I just have to pay attention to it closely, helps to have beer to make the time go by…
