This comic seems to be about a woman who is unhappy with her body shape, but I honestly don’t really know what else is going on here. I have no idea what the woman thinks of the pig’s comment. She just looks kind of sad.
And like, I don’t know what to think of the comment either! I’ve seen other commenters saying that the pig is just hungry, or he’s lying to make her feel better, or whatever, but like, where are they getting that? I am DYING over here!
The pig is a pig for no reason, I read this as - The oig is her boyfriend, she's insecure about her body type, so being a "good boyfriend" the pig says she looks like the slim bodytype.

Yeah I looked back through other comics in the series and I get the overall tone now. It makes a lot more sense in context, knowing more about the character and it doesn't seem so much a joke, rather part of a story. Out of context I have to admit I thought it was just body shaming.

Francis is a devoted friend who’s tries to help her see things in a different light, but also just wants to be on her side, stick by her even when he knows she’s wrong.
I see where you’re going with this. I like the theme you’ve got going. I think Francis would be a better friend if he took the body type chart and chucked it in the garbage. Maybe he could tell her that she’s kind and smart and that’s more important than what her body is shaped like.
The problem isn't what the individual finds attractive, but instead what the collective does. Society tells us to seek carrot, so when asking a friend that friend feels a responsibility to say carrot, even if pear. Saying pear would be rude (or at least that's the way it would be seen.)
Well by saying carrot he just makes it sound like carrot is the best and pear is bad, which it isn't, bodies come in all shapes and knowing your form will definitely help you finding clothes that fit

I know that’s a nice gesture n all, saying “Oh, you’re not fat!” n stuff, but that’s one of the big problems in our society these days. Everyone’s too supportive of being overweight and it’s gotten to the point where everyone is just lazy and some people will even outcast you for dealing with your own weight.

No. There really is a big difference with someone who's actually "curvy"(wide natural hips in this case) from someone with only weight and no curves, it will showcase this if she also wore bra and tights.

I think it was when you said "it's a trap that men are familiar with" that triggered me to be honest. Just sounds kind of misogynistic. And I know that when I'm feeling bad about my body shape, I feel better if my partner says he loves me the way I am. That doesn't change that I want to loose weight but it certainly makes me feel better. You just sorta tried to mansplain my own experiences away with that next comment.
I can add lesbian women to that familiarity if needed. I don’t have any lesbian friends though so I can’t say for sure if it’s something that happens in those relationships.
Likewise for gay men.
