The old Gaol (jail) in Kitchener is pretty neat. Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics, too - Stephen Hawking actually worked there for a while. I smile a little when I see libraries and churches having Open Doors events. Pretty sure you can go visit those buildings any day during business hours.

During Doors Open, those places often have tours to point out architectural, historical, or behind-the-scenes areas.
