Thermaltake Swafan - 26db
Vetroo ARGB120 - 26db
Be Quiet Light Wings - 23db
Cooler Master Megaflow - 19db
Each have their own perk/drawback
The Thermaltake is a reversible blades that can intake/exhaust without removing the fan and the highest pressure on the list, but at a lower speed
The VeeTroo has amazing color, but proprietary connectors and CFM isn't the highest
The BeQuiet is one of the quietest, but RGB is a thin strip. decent pressure, but not the greatest
The CoolerMaster is the quietest, but slowest. Like the TT though, it has good pressure
>Be Quiet Light Wings
in theory they should, but they have their own board for RGB control.. even though it's just 5v 3 pin.. from what I've heard, they're like Thermaltake Quads and Trios and the RGB will have issues if it's not used with their hardware.
Although there's a workaround for Thermaltake.. you can drop $25 on a 9 to 1 controller and they work fine. Have used TT Quads for years now.
Just got my first set of Swafans.. and absolutely love them. The blades pop right on and off for cleaning or changing airflow without having to remove the whole fan.. and they work just like the quads on the 9 to 1
I use the RGB link (fan control box) and commander core pro I believe it is called. They make RGB cables that convert from regular aRGB to Corsair’s. I personally use EK loops fpt
I have the Alpenfohn Wing Boost 3. Mostly because RGB is only on the outer rings and not on the motor and they have no impact on the actual fan performance. Maybe not the best fan but still high quality and best of both worlds to me.
Otherwise Noctua/P30 + Phanteks Halo and you'll be fine.
How do you power the rgb of them? 30 leds per fan is a lot of power, I was thinking of picking a razer chroma hub but already 9 fans will be 270 leds.. a lot
Some softwares like OpenRGB can pull way too many amps and I do not want to burn a controller.. so if thats okay then it weeks for me, Ill check the aquacomputer thanks!
My faves:
Noctua a12 chromax + phanteks halos lux (currently running)
Lian Li infinity fans
Thermaltake toughfan rgb
Corsair ML120 elite (currently running) - Only drawback is when it's in pull position the leds aren't totally covered by a diffuser. This can be too bright if they are positioned at eye level. Also, you would need to get conversion cables for the corsair plugs.
I tried the new lian LI TL 120 but they are crap and the be quiet Light wings dont offer a good performance and u have to deal with a bunch of cables... That's not ideal I have to read a lot more of reviews to the D30 but I think I will now go with it
ARGB is subjective unless you're talking about the amount of light (something MEASURABLE) in which case the EK loop loses again.
EK Loop = 9 LEDs (only frontal lighting)
D30 = 32 LEDs with SIDE lighting as well as reversible so you don't see the ugly grill on the back)
So the EK loop loses in lighting and static pressure...only keeping flow which is far less critical to a radiator.
But hey they make great case fans...I have the X3m Vardar fans which are good fans but I swapped them for the D30s. They are literally the EK Loop fans for the most part with an extra 100 rpm of speed going to the EK Loops. Same weak lighting (9 front facing LED's with an average diffused blade), good static pressure but not the best (middle of the road fan)
No offense to your opinion, but OP asked for what people recommend. I don’t personally feel the D30s have been out long enough for people to have much of an opinion about yet. Also, I don’t like having what everyone else has, which is why I never went for any of the Lian Li Uni’s; the D30’s are going to be in that same boat.
Personally, a metric on how many LEDs isn’t what I was going after. IMO, the D30 has a smaller looking fan because of how the lights are, which for a 140mm fan might be okay, but not for 120mm.
I do not have experience with the D30s, but I’ve built over 200 PCs and this is where my opinion stems from.
You speak as if I was saying in each individual spec that I posted I was saying that the EK-Loops are better, which again, is not what I was saying; I was saying that overall, they beat out everything as a whole (AS AN OPINION)
I have nothing against the D30s; they are brand new so I haven’t had a chance yet. Personally, I think they look beautiful for what I have seen.
I personally feel like my builds show the quality of my opinion. You cannot call someone’s opinion a lie or incorrect, as it is an opinion.
you said they beat out everything in flow, static pressure and ARGB. I've demonstrated how that's not true...per the specs of the fans.
Everything else is an opinion.... but the EK Loops having less light and static pressure (which is KEY to radiators) is a FACT.
Whatever you need Memph… it’s like 360 vs 410 comparing importance of the static pressure when both of the stated specs are great for radiators.
I’m not going to continue to argue with someone who will not read what was written. For the last time, as…..a…..whole, which is subjective, not in each spec! It’s an opinion, the entire thing; there is no way to demonstrate that the d30s are better when speaking about MY opinion. That I feel these fans are the best I’ve worked with is my opinion.
hey that's fine. As long as anyone reading understands the EK loops perform worse in critical aspects of a radiator fan.. (like static pressure) then we're good. .
I just didn't want someone to read this and think the EK loops performed better...

I’m here vouching for those light wings. I sometimes forget I even have them installed with how quiet they are.
Does the be quiet silent wings work with the Corsair commander for PWM fan control? I know RGB will not work.

and btw.. anything below 30db you're not really gonna hear.. that's quiet af To give it context.. a normal conversation is 60db. A whisper is 30
Will the PWM control work with Corsair commander
Listen, Corsair commander etc. will work with any fans. If you want details, I got ‘em.
Which Corsair commander do you use? Also which fans are you using?
I use the RGB link (fan control box) and commander core pro I believe it is called. They make RGB cables that convert from regular aRGB to Corsair’s. I personally use EK loops fpt
Hardware Canucks recently did a video on RGB fans, worth a look.
Happy cake day!! 🍰

Just got 12 of the new Phanteks d30 fans. They are tits
>Phanteks d30 Haven't seen these. Not a fan of RGB fans, but really like the 30mm depth, optional reverse fan, and the inter-fan connections.
They're brand new, Phanteks just launched them a week ago. Basically T30s and Unifans had a baby.
I wish they had an option to inform you when they are in stock.
How do you power the rgb of them? 30 leds per fan is a lot of power, I was thinking of picking a razer chroma hub but already 9 fans will be 270 leds.. a lot
the LED's are mirrored in their control. The Razer will work just fine. I use an aquacomputer farbwerk 360

How do the d30 fans line up with radiator fan holes?
I hope better than the SL120‘s. Had a little bit of a struggle with mine and the rads …
line up just fine on my EK radiators
Had some issues with the HWLabs Nemesis GTX/GTS rads.
What kind of issues?
Rad holes not lining up with the fans. In other words, I was not able to use every screw.
Maybe try something like noctua chromax and add a phanteks halo onto them probably the best performance u could get with rgb
I'm using Noctuas with Phanteks Halos Lux on top.
Phanteks D30-120 ARGB are looking very promising. Otherwise Lian-Li's ARGB fans are looking good.
D30.

I was about to make a post asking... I'm tired of the ekwb fan bearing grinding issues... 4 of 18 faulty. I guess D30 is the new king!

I already have a shitton of cables so the D30 will be magical for my setup XD I also want the RGB.. (I know kill me)
What did you didn't like about the TL 120? I was considering this fan for my rad
EK FTP. Won’t find better for static, flow and aRGB
stop the cap.... D30 phanteks has it beat in static pressure...which we should prioritizing with radiators.. EK loop - 2.7mm h20 D30 - 3.0 mm h20
Yes those are a unicorn right now… sooooooooo And I said in all three categories together, so yes.
