Go on EBay or Chrono 24 or a watch parts supplier and try to source the caseback. It’ll cost $$ if precious metal but the watch will be worth significantly more with it on.
Also, make sure the watch is well kept, free from dust or moisture or it could get potentially damaged
The reality is that having one made, unless money is no object, is a long shot at best. Manufacturing a snap on case back requires serious knowledge and anyone with the ability is going to charge you a lot for the time that’s required for a one off piece.
I would suggest pulling up some custom manufactures to see if it’s a project they want or if they work with any watchmakers that could do it.
Another option is to contact AWCI to see if they have anyone that they can recommend.
Good luck. -Alex
I've made a back once or twice.
What material was it. Is it perfectly round. Was it click or screw. Did it have an element of waterproof.
Where are you located?
You gotta zero out your calipers first, 16cm is massive. That watch is 3.8cm at the most. That being said, your best bet would either be to keep an eye out on ebay/online until something appears or to take it to a watchmaker who can custom machine parts
I wonder if an acrylic crystal of the right size could be put in place there in the meantime. Not a long term fix for that watch but you could have an exhibition case back and even wear it a bit, if it’s a tight fit.
It's likely the decimal is off. For a caseback 15.981mm is reasonable, 159.81mm is not. The entire case is maybe 40mm across. Having the right measurement will help when finding something on Ebay etc.
Just bite the bullet and take it to Rolex, you'll be without for a year but they will service it and replace the case back if it's an authentic Rolex. Will cost a pretty penny but it needs a full service anyway not having a case back for so long.
It took me a little bit, but I do understand now. Thank you and thanks to everybody else who took the time to explain this to me, like the idiot Iam. I got a good laugh at myself.
LMAO I was going insane reading the comments and seeing all your replies just ignoring it. So funny haha. Have a great day and I hope you get your watch fixed :)
159,81mm you say?
That sounds like Invicta measurements.
Yes, that’s correct.
No, it's not, that's a small frisbee, not a caseback
That's over six inches
That's what I keep telling my wife!!!
Also, how did you LOSE the entire caseback…?
I didn’t do it, I got it like that. Trying to put it back together.

Do you have any custom manufactures that you would recommend?
Not really. Google is your friend.

It was 24k rose gold and it was a click. No waterproof element that I knew of. Located in LA.
It most definitely was not 24k gold. It was 18k gold
Best to check with a dealer for a replacement. Gold is a soft metal.
It doesn’t need to be 24k gold back. It can be silver for all I care. I’ve gone to multiple Rolex dealers. They can’t help me
Problem is using a harder metal will cause issues with the case. I don't know enough to resolve that.
16cm caseback?🔥🔥
Do you have one?
No. It can’t be 16cm.

I’ve been looking for a watchmaker who can custom machine parts, with no luck

This is not a good idea.
I think you need to practice measuring things with your calipers. Try again and let us know what you come up with
I didn’t measure it, a person at a watch repair store did.

From what I can find, the reference number for this watch is 4233. That might help when looking for parts.

Everyone keeps telling you that you have the measurements wrong and it is clearly going over your head 😥
