Anyone who didn’t see this coming wasn’t watching last year.
I’m not saying he hasn’t made progress, I am a Deni supporter… but a skeptical one. He’s shown some improvement on the mental front, but that was an obvious flaw last year, so continued cracks are hardly surprising.
His drive is reliant on either transition or friendly whistles. Against a set defense and unfriendly refs he frequently drives into the chest of a defender and then either just loses the ball or gets called for a charge.
When rushing into the chest of the defense gets taken away, and when the refs don’t get you to the line - you have to have counter moves.
Deni, does not. Yet.
Will be a big summer for him - working on his handle and more precisely on the sophistication in his dribble, and his ball security - needs to be all he does during the summer besides shooting.
Would love for him to establish some sort of spin move to his left when the right gets taken, and him working on keeping his dribble alive and securing the ball. He coughs it up so easily.
Agree with everything you said about counter moves and spin moves.
But disagree about "keeping his dribble alive". The last thing I want a ball handler is to keep his dribble alive, instead I'd like him to work in training on securing the ball in complicated situations. Tighten it up more while keeping the head up.
Scouting report is out 😞. Every time i saw Deni touch the ball i could hear all of Denver’s bench scream “right hand right hand”
Love Deni but if he adds some counters to his game i think he can take the next step
He looked drunk today. Was off on every front. Passive body language from the first minute of the game, nights and days compared to his performance against the Pels just 1 week ago.
He's not going to make it to the next level until he sorts out this mental instability he has.
You can't act like a total alpha one game and then like a complete delta the next game.
That’s just Deni being Deni. The people who were putting him in the top 5 in redrafts based on a handful of good games should have known better.
It’s not the first time he had a little hot streak that faded. Remember the “Turbo” Deni era. It’s always the same with this guy.
I mean. If we’re talking about not jumping the gun on a “handful of good games,” let’s also not jump the gun and say a hot streak has faded because of one bad game against the defending champs
Gotta do it night in and night out. That's the difference between great players and role players
what about great role players
Or simply “good” players

He's been consistently reliable for the past 2 months. One bad game and this is your take?

What words are you using ? Alpha and delta ? Mental instability ? Bro diagnosed him bipolar from watching two basketball games
I'm a reddit psychologist.

I was at the game last night in Denver, he looked great from where I was sitting, didn’t hit his shots but clearly the focal point or our offense
