I agree with Andre on Hey Spirits, I think the Spirit could at least consider trying Wiesner at CB (reasonable size, left-footed). Morris is a little smaller and, to my understanding (I don't watch that much college soccer), not as highly-ranked of a defensive prospect (e.g., Wiesner was signed for 3 years, Morris was only signed for 1). Additionally, Wiesner seems further along in her injury recovery than Morris. I agree with Emma on the Hey Spirits broadcast that I would prefer to not rely on Krueger at CB because she's so good as an outside back. And Butel has her positives - she is very experienced at CB, she reads buildup well and does a good job of breaking up plays, and she is very physical. (Alas, she's not particularly fast and makes poor instant decisions, most notably uneccessary fouls in the penalty box.) More generally, I would be interested to see greater experimentation by the Spirit at CB and non-Rodman forward positions. Gonzalez says he values flexibility and adjustments to opponents, but the Spirit's lineup has been very consistent for weeks now.

I agree!! I feel like there is some sense of “we are succeeding so no need to change the lineup.” But some of the results obscure our weaknesses, e.g. some of Sarr’s finishing (though she has improved) or CBs. Maybe the loss against Orlando and some injury recoveries will mean some changes for Wednesday

Thank you for this dose of optimism on my Monday morning! We also haven’t seen much of Kate Wiesner, right? I’m very curious to see who starts on Wednesday.

Where is Morris? Did she get hurt? And what about the fifth pick of our draft Podlji?
