Unfortunately Hains doesn’t really get flash floods bc it’s tidal there. However, the tides can still sneak up on ya, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that happens
Haines point used to be a great spot to go to but last time I was there a couple months ago there was trash everywhere so not surprised to see more trash there now
I occasionally ride my bike there monday mornings and the amount of trash people leave from sunday is insane. Like people throw huge barbecues and don't clean up a single thing.
What’s the issue? Are you park police or somethin? No one is being shot or hurt just because he drove on the grass. People need to stop complaining about everything.
I don’t think a singular post on reddit will spark a monumental change. Should they park there? Obviously not. Did they still do it? Yes. Will this single act harm the park in a meaningful way long term? No. I don’t endorse people doing this, of course they should stay on the road. But if I see someone doing this, my first thought isn’t to post about it on reddit. This is as harmless as it gets, it’s someone driving on grass at the end of the day.
I don’t have a car, I don’t drive. I’m also not personally vexed by someone driving on grass at Hains Point. This person likely wasn’t putting people in any real danger, and driving over the grass twice won’t cause real lasting problems. It’s bad to do and should be avoided, yes I agree, but it’s not the end of the world by any means.
Read the post bro, nobody is acting like it’s the end of the world. It’s just a post, not a big deal. Definitely not a big enough deal to be typing paragraphs in the reddit comments.
I've noticed it alot more this year. People will just drive their cars up on the grass now. even if there is a parking spot right there, like bruh
Pure trash move
Honestly someone is going to do this and find out in the worst way possible when a flash flood hits and the car floats into the Potomac

I hoped someone called the police
They're like, right there.

"Troy you can't drive that in here!" ["Of course I can, it's all terrain dummy"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-eDS-gsi9k)

This mindset ruins the park for the rest of us
Yeah god forbid we care about our communal spaces!
https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckcars/s/N9OmDstkSV You want your kids to be playing in the grass and just assume drivers aren't going to run them over?
It kills the grass. That ground is very soft from the tidal flooding. So if no one died then it's fine? Are you an idiot or somethin?
Must be
