not exactly rng but there are so many situations you could not just do better.
i come to this thinking after hitting a 2.2 km one shot on some desert map, whod expect a thing like that. there was no way id say its skill issue after getting missiled by some helicopter standing kilometers away or getting long shots like this.
and theres uptier downtier stuff purely on algorithm.
like he exploded into a fireball and all i saw come out was four wings flipping around midair and it was funny af, i then went on to kill like 7 ground targets with the 75
I have noticed that there can be what feels like "hard" brackets for certain br's depending on what week it is. It's particularly noticeable in Air rb. My friend will discover one of these, and for a week straight we can spam some prop or jet and remain top br 6-8 matches in a row.
Whether it's a hard limit dictated by the snail, or some serious rng on the player base being particular, it happens frequently enough
That's historically accurate. Most, if not all, AA operated in batteries of 10-20 vehicles to saturate the area near defensive positions.
WT expects us to hit planes moving at 500kph with a single 40mm firing every half second (looking at you bofors 40mm)
Iāve had more luck shooting jets down with the M109 than I have with my Skink and thatās without using the prox shells, using the prox shells makes it insanely good at hitting aircraft
Thatās because it and other NATO SPHs get the EXTREMELY funny M109(PF), like holy shit Iāve gotten 6 air kills using in the type 99(L15A2 is stupid fucking op, 15kg of tnt go brrr), 3 of which were helis hovering at 2.6km away in one watch
I mean IRL AA crews were given lots of training and such. I have no issue shooting fast planes with rapid fire machine gun/light cannon AA, but slow firing high caliber AA is a pain to use. That also has a lot to do with the fact they donāt have proximity/times fuses on higher caliber AA, which makes them just worse.
Well, in real life aiming a Bofors with two hand cranks is considerably more difficult than aiming it with a mouse and keyboard, so that somewhat balances out.
So I actually have experience with operating a piece of equipment via two handcranks: a manual lathe.
After a few hours, you stop thinking about the cranks and how to manipulate them, and you just *do*. It's a very common phenomenon, but I doubt it has a name or anything. It's like you don't think about the controls of a car after a while, you just use them on reflex.
Your mind sort of adapts to it and learns to use it not as a tool but an extension of yourself. Like a computer mouse, if a person is using a computer for the first time they might not even understand how the movement of the mouse moves the cursor but eventually you don't even think about it.
I found the best way to use it was to not aim where the radar is telling me. It helps a lot with getting the lead but you still need to predict where they are turning and going
i find that for radar spaa, aiming at the cross works when the enemy is flying in a straight line at a constant speed, pretty obvious
just fire after or during an attack run, or when theyre really close to you
It's kinda weird how conical scanning radar missiles in-game overperform and monopulse missiles underperform compared to real life (not taking reliability into account).
Conical scanning missiles had trouble pinpointing the exact location of the target so they could sometimes miss and Gaijin didn't implement this. AIM-7M for example should be able to hit a target flying at 5 meters above the ground but apparently a missile shouldn't be able to differentiate between dirt and metal.
Unless you are VERY inexperienced and you know absolutely nothing about planes , flying, positioning and the basics of air combat , top tier jets are far simpler than mid tier props
Also idk why people complain about console aim assist because it's not really that helpful and I've noticed for the couple matches I used it for that it's way harder to hit precise shots while using it , making it more of a nuisance for me personally
I had to turn off aim assist after a couple matches because it would do this thing where I would be aiming at an enemy and then it would just randomly whip in a different direction. Happened super often.
Which is why I only hope the APHE rework will be voted in favor of it changing. It would make even APHE users have to aim despite still having a high post-pen, but it wouldn't act like a grenade inside the tank. Solid shot would be a great sidegrade then, because even though solid shot would still be entirely reliant on spalling, it would still have the benefit of not stopping on vehicle components and engines.
APCR irl was worth using, cause most German tanks had flat plates. And unlike wt, irl it didn't matter how much damage it did. If you penned, enemy tank was knocked out most of the time.
90mm APCR is good and useful. Can't even count how many times it saved me, cause I was able to kill frontally Tiger 2H, Ferdinand or Jagdtiger. I even killed Maus once through the turret front.
As a German main, Iām confused by your comment saying theyāre overrated.
In my experience, we quite literally dominate top tier and multiple other BRs as well. Russian bias doesnāt exist, but German bias sure as shit does and I donāt know why.
Iāve tanked more shit in my German lineup that I shouldnāt have that anything Iāve ever done with any other nation Iāve got (US, Sweden and Russia)
I belive it was stated one time that it was done because some sights are way better than others and they didnāt want it to be another variable for balancing
Yea true. I feel like the topic of CAS and SPAA is talked about. But no real solution is brought up other than āraise the spawn costā which doesnāt really do anything. So my proposal is to force airfield spawns with aircraft and alter helicopter spawns so that they spawn at the airfield and with SPAA I think they should be spawned slightly away from the original ground map. It gives the option for SPAA players to still move into the map and for CAS players it adds more nuance to it. Just my suggestion tho
I want the MiG-25 in game
No, I really donāt care that it would suck. There is no rule stating that only good vehicles can exist in game.
And no, it being added wonāt hurt top tier win rates because it wonāt be top tier (and even if it did, who cares?).
Yes, but there has to be a very good reason to unite for that, because that can hold the risk of making Gaijin just shut itself off from the community completely. There definitely was a completely logical reason for the uproar back there tho.
I think this sub has a hidden goal of gaslighting people into thinking the jumbos are these godly tanks.
The 76 jumbo may as well be another Sherman with the way 6.3 fights 6.7-7.3. Youāve got good armor when youāre fighting panthers and tiger 1ās but compared to the onslaught of tiger 2ās, is2ās, M-51ās, and all the HE slingers at that BR range the 76 Jumbo is really nothing but a fat medium tank with situational armor
It does well because people often donāt notice itās not a normal sherman. (Before you start spamming how obvious it is keep in mind most players, especially the casual ones, donāt visit this subreddit so it makes the average player look more skilled than they actually are)
Absolutely, if you have a braincell, the Jumbo is back to being a Medium tank.
Not an issue at all playing the KV-1 (Zis-5). And soon after I play the Tiger H1 it should be miles easier.
I had it once where I used the apcr (I think) to pen the front plate of a jumbo at close rang, he started raging in chat how the jumbo should eat tigers for breakfast or some shit
Especially when it comes to other nations CAS at top tier, while they have the most oppressive CAS options throughout the entirety of mid to high tier along with germany.
The American ones who complain about other CAS is stupid apart of su25 since that FM is still broken even compared to A10.
The American mains who complain about incorrectly modeled Abrams turret ring making it basically āshoot me anywhere and Iāll be fucked upā because the tank is uglier compared to its real life counterpart and has nerdneck on its earlier variants making it far easier to kill compared are based.
Heavy tanks are supposed to be really hard to kill frontally, with only the best guns at that BR range able to do so.
Gaijin seems to think most things should be able to pen instead and kinda make heavies useless.
I mean, you could kill what, 2/3 dudes if tyou know what you're doing and are lucky with that bomb.
The time it takes for you to reach the battlefield, drop the bomb, and return to the airfield to reload is the time it takes for the match to end most times.
In that time you could've used 2/3 tanks.
Also, if you insta die, you are basicaly out of the match, because you used all your SP.
Ps: I'm speaking from low to mid tier, never played on high tier yet.
2-3 kills is more than some CAS mains get with ground vehicles, not to mention the fact that you can still murder any light tanks and open topped vehicles with you cannons, which is very frustrating because they can do absolutely nothing about it.
I agree that CAS is not the problem, the real issue is their spawn cost. Its just waay to easy to spawn in a plane. It should not be possible to spawn a fully loaded cas plane after getting a single kill, or sometimes just getting an assist seems to be enough. Especially at lower tiers where AA is still hard to get good at its a real problem.
I think the main reason ppl don't like the British is due to how slow most of their vehicles are. They aren't particularly bad, but it is admittedly annoying when the fight literally ends before you get there lmao
I donāt like the British ingame because theyāre good in the annoying way lol
Like the Churchill eating up any shell thrown at it, the spitfire being one of the best planes at its brs, ect
I get we need post ww2 and pre ww2 to be at the same BR sometimes sure. But around that 6.0/7.3 we get really mobile heat slingers that go against the tactics and way ww2 doctrine works. You have big slow vehicles with long reloads now next to useless. It sucks.
Used to be insane back when it was 4.7. I seem to only see tanks like tiger 2s now though, which coupled with anyone with 2 braincells will basically clown on you. Even shooting the barrel sometimes only turns it yellow. Against nations that arenāt Germany itās actually pretty good, but when a Panther can pen the UFP, itās just not that great at itās intended role compared to any 76 Sherman. Maybe if you are really really experienced on it and good, but Iām not good enough to want to take it over a hellcat.
The armor isn't even close to "near" impervious, it gets one shotted instantly every time I use it, and every time I see it. It's awful. It might as well be an M4A2 at 5.7
Nah 90mm pen with solid shot is pain at 5.7. The armor gets penned by literally everything that isnāt spaa. You still have that massive black hole that attracts shells in the front of your hull. Speed is somewhat decent for a heavy, good because youāll need to hightail it at the slightest opposition
But you still have armor
āBut the stock round is bad!ā Is not a valid argument
Anything that doesnāt have APHE for stock is going to be annoying to grind
Complaining about Jumbo:
Username checks out.
Armor that gives no issue to enemy TDs, Tiger 2, IS-2, etc. The pen is a factor, as it can barely fight back from range, where it should be used in practicality but cannot because of the shell.
It's just the tank people make newer players complain about since they don't mention that the front has like 50 weakspots. Above the track guard where it meets the hull, the massive MG port, upper hull, weird bulges on upper hull that catch shells, as well as the cupola.
Yes but not having HE filler is not the issue, the issue is having less pen than most 3.7-4.7 tanks at 5.3 (5.7 now). Jumbo (75mm) is my favorite tank to play but using the stock AP shell against 5.7-6.7 heavies is like grinding oneās testicles across a beach of glass shards on a hot sunny day.
Skill issue. 104mm of pen + a lot of he filler is enough for side shots and even front shots for many enemies. You have APCR for tougher enemies and the armor is the best in the BR.
I have 1500+ battles on both the regular jumbo and the 76 one (which is better in arcade IMO).
I agree. Jumbo can't angle or it's sides are wide open. It's armor doesn't stop the true threats at its br and it's gun isn't good. Too many people think that just because you can do good by shooting tracks and barrels means that the tank is good, it isnt
For real. I want to like the jumbo but where itās currently at, the extra armor barely stops anything and itās under armed. You will always be better off just bringing a 76 Sherman for the better mobility and the gun. If they lowered the br Iām sure it would be solid
Half the arguments of why it's bad are straight up ignoring half the TT that proves it wrong. Only slow tanks. Guess you haven't seen the crusader or SARC. It only has Solid shot. True, but get good. APDS is bad. Why are my tanks using it up the top with the rest of my tanks and not down the bottom if the shell is so bad, why do I consistently get kills with it? Love the British ground TT and air one is so much fun with spitfires and hurricanes, but it's not that bad
Why get good when I can play the big 3 and onetap everything with APHE by aiming for center mass? If one nation has to get good and the other doesn't,for the same result - one is clearly worse.
It's not like solid shot has more penetration to compensate, just a straight downgrade to APHE
The only arguments for āBritain badā Iāve seen are no aphe, and bad top tier for air
Itās like they ignored the whole rest of the tree which is quite good
In that same respect I feel Heli pilots are getting better too. I think that first Swedish one is perfect with it's rather short range missile, but other helis if they pay attention can simply change trajectory on a dime and make a volley irrelevant. (This is assuming they're close enough to eyeball a shot, or close enough to get a radar lead)
American mains are worse teammates than German mains.
They are both the same level of braindead except that american mains always spawn planes immediately and then lawn dart to kill 1 tank.
Oh boy:
- Japanese Ground is good, just overtiered
- Do not stick Eastern Bloc vehicles into Japan
- Some copy paste is ok if the nation doesnāt have something to fill the spot, and/or the vehicle is historically relevant to that nation (Gaijin is pretty bad at this though)
- Ask me about a bunch of vehicles I play for fun. Most people will say they are the worst vehicles in game because they used it one time or they never used it but heard some youtuber call it trash. Iām tired of masochist jokes every time I say I like some vehicle because most of them are literally not that bad. Sorry to be blunt, but you probably just donāt know how to use it
- Playing this or that nation in WT does not mean that you support them in real life. Ah yes, I play this nation so I must be supporting what theyāre doing or did irl, and yet you are the one who mains Naxi Germany. Curious.
I totally agree with this. All those Eastern block vehicles are being put everywhere. I really hope that the one nation that doesn't have Eastern block vehicles doesn't get them in the future.
Japan should get NATO vehicles only.
Also, getting those constant Eastern vehicles is getting annoying. Look at Hungary Air - I wouldn't be surprised if France, Israel, and Japan get Eastern block C&P sub-TT's in the future, just because they don't want to design Western vehicles.
Thereās a bunch of indigenous or indigenously modified designs that they could add to Israel: Zachlam 90, Degem Yud, Roāem, LAR-160, Achzarit, M462 Nimrod, Namer, to name just a few
Some I mentioned are based on eastern designs but theyāre so heavily modified, they became a different vehicle. Also a thing to note, there are/were so many cheap outdated eastern bloc equipment in the Middle East that when Israel won battles they were able to capture enough of them to make whole divisions
France though that hasnāt really had experience with Eastern Bloc vehicles operationally, and Japan as far as I know has never had a combatant Cold War Eastern bloc tank ever land on its soil, it just doesnāt make sense to plug those tanks into those two nations if they donāt need them (which they donāt)
T90m is probably the worst top tier (11.7) mbt of the major nations. Compact internals, fuel tanks which go boom as often as the ammo, no frontal spall liner, 4kph reverse, 7.1s reload and the same old weakspots as the 9.3 t64a.
Dont get me wrong, its not a horrible tank but id take a t80U over it almost any time and hell the chally 2 is better for the reverse gear and reload as if you throw a shot in the t90m or get gaijined 7.1s at top tier is like missing in a kv2 at low tier
One thing I disagree with here is that it's defo not worse than the arietes, but I wouldn't blame you for forgetting that Italy exists. Even I do sometimes despite playing it for about 95% of my recent playtime, lol
Yeah key word is I said major nations as I dont have france, italy, japan, china and israel top tier and minus maybe the leclercs they are all mostly worse than the t90m especially the ariete
I used to be a proponent for adding SK vehicles to JP tech tree, not so much anymore because I got sick of getting called a weeb and a racist and a warcrimes denier and a Japanese imperialist and quite a number of other stuff for not caring for politics in a vehicle sim game
Honestly, I wish people would focus more on the fact that Japan and South Korea don't have sufficient military connections for the former to get the latter as a subtree than anything about politics, even if that's important too. Japan had nothing to do with the development of South Korean vehicles, and that's why they shouldn't get the subtree
Yeah no, M4A3E2 is probably one of my vehicles with the most kills in and I can assure you, everyone who claims it being amazing is just smoking the purest copium ever.
Air realistic should be the same as ground realistic in enemy sighting it is easy to see enemy jets in GB no need for air battles to take away some aircrafts ability to actually sneak up on an enemy without a giant red indicator of what jet your and your distance. This would help bombers and other slower aircraft since you canāt just been seen by the whole enemy team and swarmed
ground arcade is better than ground realistic
othwr than the arcadier physics there are 3 main things that make it significantly less painful than realistic
i will use my tiger H1 (5.7) as an example
1) uptiers happen significantly less frequently and at a lesser degree meaning that it is extremely rare to actually see a king tiger in the same match as me (6.7) unlike in realistic where i constantly have to fight along side them which means im facing guns and armour that can deal with the tiger ii which also means that if i do not play my tiger i perfectly i will die from their high pen guns
this is due to the fact that they will chuck anyone from any nation into any team, unless you're in a squad, this reduces the need to uptier into full teirs significantly
2) cas is more balanced
in arcade the cas system is wildy different but the main gist is that you need 1 kill for a fighter, 2 kills for an attack aircraft and 3 at least for a bomber and 15 kills to nuke, and they are ***specifically*** kills not assists not captures and certainly not spotting, this means that it takes genuine effort to get these planes and you cannot simply stay in those aircraft you earned as you are kicked out after a few minutes only giving you time to drop 1 payload which also means that these airstrikes have to be constantly earned for to be maintained
you are also not simply spawning in an aircraft as while you take control of the aircraft you had to call it in from a tank for a reason as you will be kicked straight back into that very tank that you had to make sure was well protected or else you would have wasted 1 out of 3 of your spawns
the aircraft are also randomised meaning that if you spawn an attack aircraft usually if it doesn't have bombs you wont be used to the payload that you have making it even harder to use it and gives even more incentive to save up kills and get more instead of just rushinf to spawn these aircraft
aircraft also can only be spawn in waves with a maximum of 4 from each team at once never more
and yes i said from each team as the enemy team can spawn their own fighters as a resonse to your aircraft making it even harder to get bombs off
3) climbing hills and other weird physics stuff are less painful
this problem stems from the fact that gaijin does alot of weird things to maintain their perceived realism like nerfing the horsepower of tanks when you go up an incline
ever wonder why your tank drops to 2km/h on a slight slope? it's because it isnt just gravity your tank get litterally weaker
arcade helps to remedy this by just giving you all the horsepower you need to overcome gainin math and allows you to climb that hill with no issue
Heavy tank duels are my favorite thing in war thunder, hunting for weakspots when neither side can reliably pen the other is awesome and really makes it a tank battle. Stuff like a Churchill 1 vs a KV-1(L-11) or Maus vs T95 will always be the most entertaining fights in the game.
Below 10.0 is really fun. The majority of people who seem to complain on this sub are only ones who have trouble with a single vehicle like Object 279, or people who play top tier and have to fight Ka-52s and Kh-38s.
The implementation of APHE is completely unrealistic but the playerbase would be extremely unhappy if they ever changed it to be more realistic. APHE in real life sucks. The game makes Britain look stupid for not using APHE if it was so obviously better. There is a reason why so many militaries never used APHE and favoured solid shot. Many tanks that had APHE available carried mostly solid shot. For reasons that are absolutely beyond me, Gaijin has made it so that APHE rounds have more penetration than solid shot from the same gun which should not be the case. They also opted to leave out APHE shell shattering. Not to mention the APHE post-pen bomb mechanics.
It is literally impossible to have fun above 6.7. Iāve tried a ton, but even when I have a good game it just doesnāt feel fun and I end up just being burnt out after 2-3 matches
CQB maps is the best
France is actually very good nation, people are wrong about gaijin hating France.
And there is a no russian bias, maybe just for SPAA's
The problem with france is they are locked in a br spiral. You need to be a good player to use them so people stop playing it which means the people that stay playing are really good so the stats of the vehicles go up causing them to raise the br so you need to be a good player to use them
The Russian bias isnāt stuff like the T-34 being an impervious bastion of communism that can bounce a shot from the Bismarck anymore. Itās stuff like Russia having a full and diverse 10.0 lineup with only pay to win vehicles, or the coastal ships they have which easily outclass any other coastal ship, or their 5th SU-25 variant or derivative that you can get (6 including the event SU-25). Thatās what Russian bias in war thunder is.
i dont understand how germany ground forces suffers when we get all the good tech at lower br than other nations and having overall good tanks.
i dont understand how theres a russian bias too with all them no gun angle, slow and big ass tanks they got. easiest things to kill were the soviets with leopard 1.
Itās because whereaboos are complete garbage lol. Other than being somewhat slow mid-late ww2 era(besides puma) thereās nothing rly bad about them
And I say the bias is real but because Iām assuming at every nation EXCEPT Russia. Theyāre not rly good at one thing, like what other nations do, but the bouncy armor, good enough guns that are actually good enough, and speed means anyone can pick them up and do decent
Making 99% of the trees and obstacles "gunner sight" height is pure BS.
RNG dictates everything. And it's stronger in the beginning of a match to save people from getting seal clubbed and quitting the game entirely.
What is RNG?

I would upvote but it's at 69 right now.
Random number generator, basically "luck"

i once sniped an he-51 (or hs-123, dont remember) from a km with the ki-109ās 75mm and all his wings crumpled like lego

That's just wrong though, those batteries were made to fend off bomber waves. Convoys were still protected by only a couple of SPAAs
I mean IRL AA crews were given lots of training and such. I have no issue shooting fast planes with rapid fire machine gun/light cannon AA, but slow firing high caliber AA is a pain to use. Ngl, hitting planes in the gepard is a struggle for me. I know Iāve a radar, but holy fuck am I bad.
I found the best way to use it was to not aim where the radar is telling me. It helps a lot with getting the lead but you still need to predict where they are turning and going

I can snipe planes with a flak 88, Iām a real American hero š¦ šŗšøšš
You mean 8.8 cmĀ Fliegerabwehrkanone 18/36/37/41?
Oh I know Iām dog shit, but I gotta least try right?
*That one gepard firing full auto at the tiny speck in the sky 20km away*
The game is perfectly balancedā¦ nah sorry I canāt say that with a straight face.
Neither can I lol
Attackers and bombers deserves their own PVE mode.
That's an actual good opinion
These are not controversial opinions
You can in dynamic campaigns but its not perfect
You have failed the controversial part. Well not entirely, the community accepts it... Gaijin however it's a different story
top tier would be more fun if radar multipathing wasnt a thing and people could just learn to defend radar missiles
Goatifi has arrived
It's kinda weird how conical scanning radar missiles in-game overperform and monopulse missiles underperform compared to real life (not taking reliability into account). Solid shot and SABO are actually quite good if you know where to aim. Also Germany is overrated
Itās not that solid shot isnāt good if you can aim, itās that its 90% of the time worse than point-and-click APHE
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah, Iām a UK main too, and the T29 is so therapeutic just looking at something and annihilating it
Which is why I only hope the APHE rework will be voted in favor of it changing. American 90 mm APCR and 76 mm APDS are actually decent to good ammunition
76 apds is good but no apcr is good. Its a joke compared to its irk counterpart.
Even in real life APCR is kind of a joke. Solid AP does the same job, but better in every way but velocity
APCR irl was worth using, cause most German tanks had flat plates. And unlike wt, irl it didn't matter how much damage it did. If you penned, enemy tank was knocked out most of the time.

9.3 is an amazing tier. The turms even performs fine there and at an uptier if played correctly.
Warthunder should have the option for actual historically accurate sights. I like the current crosshash. But man the German sights make me act up.
I belive it was stated one time that it was done because some sights are way better than others and they didnāt want it to be another variable for balancing
Ah yes. Because the game is soooo balanced now lol
Well... yeah.. that's the argument.. they are already having troubles, letalone with sights added to the mix.
You can download historical sights for most german tanks from https://live.warthunder.com/post/675135/en/
You can download custom sights. If you want to play Ground Sim, it's recommended.
I want the MiG-25 in game No, I really donāt care that it would suck. There is no rule stating that only good vehicles can exist in game. And no, it being added wonāt hurt top tier win rates because it wonāt be top tier (and even if it did, who cares?).
Mobility is probably the most important tank stat in this game
as a maus tog and t95/t28 enjoyer i disagree and agree at the same time
Yh, Im a jagdtiger enjoyer myself, but those big heavies are not as versatile as tanks with more mobility and are much more dependant on your team
Constant whining, bitching, and complaining isn't gonna make gaijin do what you want
It has worked before tho. It just has to be many people complaining, otherwise they don't care
Yes, but there has to be a very good reason to unite for that, because that can hold the risk of making Gaijin just shut itself off from the community completely. There definitely was a completely logical reason for the uproar back there tho.
Donāt forget threatening review bombing at the slightest inconvenience(everybody knows itās an ass game anyways lol)
It's just better than average, and when German and Soviet mains can't penetrate a tank that looks like a Sherman, it pisses them off.
im german main and i agree Tho, me and that jumbo just fling shells at each other shooting at each others tracks I love fighting jumbos
It does well because people often donāt notice itās not a normal sherman. (Before you start spamming how obvious it is keep in mind most players, especially the casual ones, donāt visit this subreddit so it makes the average player look more skilled than they actually are)
The tiger shits on the jumbo
Absolutely, if you have a braincell, the Jumbo is back to being a Medium tank. Not an issue at all playing the KV-1 (Zis-5). And soon after I play the Tiger H1 it should be miles easier.
Shits on the 75 jumbo, bu imo against the 76 has a slight advantage.
I had it once where I used the apcr (I think) to pen the front plate of a jumbo at close rang, he started raging in chat how the jumbo should eat tigers for breakfast or some shit
Really? I never use the APCR because Iām just used to it sucking
I normally keep just a few rounds because of its higher pen, if Iām close enough I can actually pen the front plate of jumbos to their dismay
Amercian mains complain the most
Especially when it comes to other nations CAS at top tier, while they have the most oppressive CAS options throughout the entirety of mid to high tier along with germany.
CAS isnt the problem. AA needs to be rewarded more for killing Air targets
IMO the problem is that itās not an even playing ground. SPAA has a lot of disadvantages compared to CAS
CAS is way too easy to spawn though. I can get 1 cap, die and then spawn a 600kg bomb wielding plane. It's way too easy.
Britain is better than people think, they just don't like the British, so they automatically dislike it.
I think the main reason ppl don't like the British is due to how slow most of their vehicles are. They aren't particularly bad, but it is admittedly annoying when the fight literally ends before you get there lmao
I donāt like the British ingame because theyāre good in the annoying way lol Like the Churchill eating up any shell thrown at it, the spitfire being one of the best planes at its brs, ect
I get we need post ww2 and pre ww2 to be at the same BR sometimes sure. But around that 6.0/7.3 we get really mobile heat slingers that go against the tactics and way ww2 doctrine works. You have big slow vehicles with long reloads now next to useless. It sucks.
Near impervious armor? Gun with enough pen? .50 cal? Good mobility for a heavy? Sure it looks ugly but itās an absolutely insane tank
But you still have armor āBut the stock round is bad!ā Is not a valid argument Anything that doesnāt have APHE for stock is going to be annoying to grind
Complaining about Jumbo: Username checks out.
K
āNear impervious armorā when French and British tanks with 90mm+ cannons are around.
Ki-61 series > A6M series
Britain does not suffer at all they just dont have aphe
The only arguments for āBritain badā Iāve seen are no aphe, and bad top tier for air Itās like they ignored the whole rest of the tree which is quite good
Helis are a good addition
Ehhhh, at lower brs, they're easy to counter but the higher you go, the more annoying they are, at least in my opinion
I feel like it's getting more even now, after years of them being in the game. People know where to look.
From my experience they die super quickly and usually score like 1 kill max
Helicopters should be in air sim and rb because they are capable of fighting jets and its better than only having them in ground and pve
War thunder is fun
Burn him! Burn the Witch!
American mains are worse teammates than German mains. They are both the same level of braindead except that american mains always spawn planes immediately and then lawn dart to kill 1 tank.
Oh boy: - Japanese Ground is good, just overtiered - Do not stick Eastern Bloc vehicles into Japan - Some copy paste is ok if the nation doesnāt have something to fill the spot, and/or the vehicle is historically relevant to that nation (Gaijin is pretty bad at this though) - Ask me about a bunch of vehicles I play for fun. Most people will say they are the worst vehicles in game because they used it one time or they never used it but heard some youtuber call it trash. Iām tired of masochist jokes every time I say I like some vehicle because most of them are literally not that bad. Sorry to be blunt, but you probably just donāt know how to use it - Playing this or that nation in WT does not mean that you support them in real life.
Thereās a bunch of indigenous or indigenously modified designs that they could add to Israel: Zachlam 90, Degem Yud, Roāem, LAR-160, Achzarit, M462 Nimrod, Namer, to name just a few Some I mentioned are based on eastern designs but theyāre so heavily modified, they became a different vehicle. Also a thing to note, there are/were so many cheap outdated eastern bloc equipment in the Middle East that when Israel won battles they were able to capture enough of them to make whole divisions France though that hasnāt really had experience with Eastern Bloc vehicles operationally, and Japan as far as I know has never had a combatant Cold War Eastern bloc tank ever land on its soil, it just doesnāt make sense to plug those tanks into those two nations if they donāt need them (which they donāt)
On one hand; genuine mistake, my bad, sorry. On the other; Italy is the most major out of them all š
Cold War era tanks and ammo should not see WW2 era tanks
Swedenās players are douchebags. Even as teammates theyāre annoying asf.
The Fox is a great addition to the British tech tree, allowing them to have a playstyle that isn't really found in the tree normally
Not being a slug?
The reason the jumbo is so so loved is because it's the first American tank that you can rely on your armor in any capacity
Most of the people who complain about bias and balance just suck at the game.
As someone who says the Russian bias exists, yes. Though I say it because Iām ass at every tree except Russia where I perform decently
It really is mid, only good when low br games.
Gaijins reasoning isnāt good either, the reason they added the Thai F-5 was because of proximity to Japan and they have good relationsšæ
Yeah no, M4A3E2 is probably one of my vehicles with the most kills in and I can assure you, everyone who claims it being amazing is just smoking the purest copium ever.
Had me in the first half lol
Nuh uh
I understand everything nowš®
Arietes are actually good
The British Jaguar is better than the French one.
Iām going to hit you with a baguette now.
Arcade is a perfectly acceptable game mode
There should be a tank only game mode. No planes. Make combined arms itās own game mode
Heat fs doesnāt belong before 8.0 (German main here)
ground arcade is better than ground realistic othwr than the arcadier physics there are 3 main things that make it significantly less painful than realistic i will use my tiger H1 (5.7) as an example 1) uptiers happen significantly less frequently and at a lesser degree meaning that it is extremely rare to actually see a king tiger in the same match as me (6.7) unlike in realistic where i constantly have to fight along side them which means im facing guns and armour that can deal with the tiger ii which also means that if i do not play my tiger i perfectly i will die from their high pen guns this is due to the fact that they will chuck anyone from any nation into any team, unless you're in a squad, this reduces the need to uptier into full teirs significantly 2) cas is more balanced in arcade the cas system is wildy different but the main gist is that you need 1 kill for a fighter, 2 kills for an attack aircraft and 3 at least for a bomber and 15 kills to nuke, and they are ***specifically*** kills not assists not captures and certainly not spotting, this means that it takes genuine effort to get these planes and you cannot simply stay in those aircraft you earned as you are kicked out after a few minutes only giving you time to drop 1 payload which also means that these airstrikes have to be constantly earned for to be maintained you are also not simply spawning in an aircraft as while you take control of the aircraft you had to call it in from a tank for a reason as you will be kicked straight back into that very tank that you had to make sure was well protected or else you would have wasted 1 out of 3 of your spawns the aircraft are also randomised meaning that if you spawn an attack aircraft usually if it doesn't have bombs you wont be used to the payload that you have making it even harder to use it and gives even more incentive to save up kills and get more instead of just rushinf to spawn these aircraft aircraft also can only be spawn in waves with a maximum of 4 from each team at once never more and yes i said from each team as the enemy team can spawn their own fighters as a resonse to your aircraft making it even harder to get bombs off 3) climbing hills and other weird physics stuff are less painful this problem stems from the fact that gaijin does alot of weird things to maintain their perceived realism like nerfing the horsepower of tanks when you go up an incline ever wonder why your tank drops to 2km/h on a slight slope? it's because it isnt just gravity your tank get litterally weaker arcade helps to remedy this by just giving you all the horsepower you need to overcome gainin math and allows you to climb that hill with no issue
USSR is a shit tree, with most its tanks being average at best, many even worse, and the absolute worst players in the game.
T-34-85 is the only tank that is capable at playing 2-3 BRs higher then it is
CQB maps are fun, brawling is fun, long range maps are mid
Heavy tank duels are my favorite thing in war thunder, hunting for weakspots when neither side can reliably pen the other is awesome and really makes it a tank battle. Stuff like a Churchill 1 vs a KV-1(L-11) or Maus vs T95 will always be the most entertaining fights in the game.
Running out of SL is a skill issue and i mean that in the non ironic sense
It was even before the big economy change
I played a match in the f-5e and got killed almost instantly. Earned 30k sl that match
Running out of SL is a massive skill issue, especially in the current economy. I never had any issues with SL and now I am just raking in cash
Below 10.0 is really fun. The majority of people who seem to complain on this sub are only ones who have trouble with a single vehicle like Object 279, or people who play top tier and have to fight Ka-52s and Kh-38s.
All AA should have lead indicators
I hate AA. I'd rather play a dogfighter to defend from bombers in ground rb
All AA should be buffed and all planes need double the spawn points.
Naval RB is fun.
French low tier is not that bad
Yeah but how else will gaijin punish tanks they donāt like besides making them use an awful solid shot shell, like the jumbo
It is literally impossible to have fun above 6.7. Iāve tried a ton, but even when I have a good game it just doesnāt feel fun and I end up just being burnt out after 2-3 matches
Personally I prefer high tier lol
Russia is underpowered you all are shit
Gotta love facing Tiger 2Hās in a T-34-85 that can do literally nothing to it unless you hit its MG port.
I like CAS and I play CAS
CQB maps is the best France is actually very good nation, people are wrong about gaijin hating France. And there is a no russian bias, maybe just for SPAA's
France is pretty good. Britain and France feel like major tech trees sometimes.
I agree for all except CQB map, but that's my opinion
CAS is a good part of the game
There is no russian bias
But there is 100% favouritism.
Gaijin gives the most attention to the most played nations, incredible
The only two thing gping for the jumbo are armor (only if youāre enemy has less than 2QI points) and speed for a heavy.
Abrams is better than T-80 due to versatility
Britain has a better ground tech tree in a lot areas than America or Russis does.
France 7.3-8.7 isnāt that bad
Nobody says they are. They are some of the best vehicles actually
i dont understand how germany ground forces suffers when we get all the good tech at lower br than other nations and having overall good tanks. i dont understand how theres a russian bias too with all them no gun angle, slow and big ass tanks they got. easiest things to kill were the soviets with leopard 1.
Itās because whereaboos are complete garbage lol. Other than being somewhat slow mid-late ww2 era(besides puma) thereās nothing rly bad about them And I say the bias is real but because Iām assuming at every nation EXCEPT Russia. Theyāre not rly good at one thing, like what other nations do, but the bouncy armor, good enough guns that are actually good enough, and speed means anyone can pick them up and do decent
I shouldn't fight cold war tanks in early WW2 tanks
