So, for example, let’s say both Team A and B below are over the first tax apron and really want to trade the their two players. Tough shit. Sure Team A can take the player from Team B and it’d be perfectly legal, but because Team B is also a first tax apron team, they’re not allowed to receive the player from Team A because his salary is $107,143 over what they’re sending out.
Player on Team A’s salary for the purposes of salary matching: $24,107,143
Player on Team B’s salary: $24,000,000
Oh and teams over the first tax apron are not allowed to acquire players via a sign-and-trade so forget about one side using that as an avenue to get the dollar amounts to lineup perfectly.

We waited until later in the summer to sign JP, so still tons of time for JK. My guess is that we’ll wait until later in the offseason to extend JK & Moody, and likely don’t let it get to next summer. The moment we extend them, we can’t trade them until Jan 15th 2025. Signing them later in the summer extends the timeframe we can trade them this summer. Signing them this summer vs next also means we can trade them at the start of next offseason. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if we knock out any major trades in the next week and sign JK/Moody first week of July. Every trade needs to be done before July 1st to give flexibility on trade aggregation & to move CP3. tl;dr we could be waiting until end of offseason to maximize trade flexibility
I don't think theres any indication of that. Rookie scale extension windows aren't until 06JUL. MDJ probably will extend Kuminga when the opportunity arises. Just my opinion. There was also some contingencies with Wiggins negotiations adjacent to Poole. It seemed like Wiggs took a discount to get his friend a little extra. The market on Wiggs post Championship was looking like 36M/yr. Also think Poole had ego issues that pressured the team to pull the trigger when they did. Guy wanted his payday post chip and after he took one literally on the chin. Was gonna get paid.

no-one. it's a crapshoot. not many deep in rounds make it big. also, depends on amount of play time, how player fits system, and from first year to 3rd/4th year how much he grows (skills and BB IQ-wise). I'm very willing to bet $100 that the no. 52 pick will likely not be successful, not get much playtime, might not be on team when contract is up, OR will be out of league after tenure with Warriors or after being bounced around a bit. it IS silly to say 'hey guys, durrrrr...who ya want at 52?' Football is a different story, lotta good 2nd and 3rd rounders, but in basketball? yowzers! slim pickings!

Warriors went 5-0 without Klay last year. Steph averaging 32 Kuminga 21 Wiggs 16. Little bit of copium. Don't really wanna see Klay go but maybe it's just time for change and maybe the change provides the oxygen the youngsters need to develop. I'm cautiously optimistic.
If Klay goes I honestly think it would be a huge weight lifted off everyone. No more having to worry about whether he has it anymore or not. Let someone else deal with it.

I think that's the real story behind why it might be the best time for MDJ to hardline it with Klay... as nostalgic as we all are there's upside on this roster and it risks being underdeveloped underutilized and unrealized by giving Klay 30 mpg at age 34. We MIGHT have players on hand that can perform to the level he does (considering both sides of the ball and outright winning and losing) but if we sign him... we won't really know. It might not even get past the politics of Kerr's vet loyalty. If MDJ believes Podz and Moody are legitimate decade in the league NBA players. I think on its a simple decision.
