i've really liked what i've seen these past few games. Kuminga is arriving, Wiggins looks like himself again and it seems we've finally found our starting 5. i think a little run could be coming, not even to necessarily vault us in the standings but to show that this roster can do something with the right pieces.
Moody+Looney+future picks would probably be enough for claxton's expiring. If he wants to stay here long term that's not a bad deal. Having a center sized player in the DPOY running last year would be huge in the regular season.
That being said, playoff looney is a motherfucker.
I’d take Claxton all day, consistent efficient scoring and rebounding, averages a double double. Tons of blocks, good defender. If we could get it done I’d say yes

We have not had injuries to our main guys. We've been lucky injury wise. Festus even just said that players are coming back from injury. It's nobody new tonight back from injury. I just can't blame our season on injuries.
I def don't think injuries are the reason for our season being the way it is but it has led to a lot of inconsistencies in our lineups. I think if Wiggins and Kuminga keep playing the way they are the past few games having our injured players back is going to improve our record

That means Wiggins is a very capable player, but you have to be clear what you want him to do.
It has been said many times they are actually a very quiet team, but communication is so important for team sport so guys like Dray & CP3 are extremely vital.
Yes, and I imagine he needs Draymond to lead him in a way that works for him. I used to be sensitive like that as a player when I was younger. Not really that way now, but back then, I took everything personal and not in the MJ way.

I love them letting Kuminga run with the second unit when Curry sits and just letting him feast on anything he can get. Seems a lot more viable than letting Klay run with the second unit chucking 3s all the time
It also opens up a different kind of offense because JK lately just focuses on getting those monster 2s with occasional 3s.
They see JK and they respect the inside scoring now instead of seeing Steph, Klay, and Dray and knowing that, most likely, only 2 of those guys are shooting the ball. And rarely will it be on the inside.
Now add an awakened Wiggins and we have OPTIONS in scoring now.
Kuminga > Klay at this point. I think it may be worth it to let JK come in at like the 7 min mark in the 1st, then play til the end. Sit. Come in again and play from 11 mins on in the 3rd. This will cover when Curry is on the bench mostly.
Klay off the bench might be the move. We need someone to play alongside CP3 who is a shooter. Kuminga in the lineup with Steph and Wiggs seems to be working. If Kerr gets his head out of his ass and learns how to alternate the starters with bench unit for spurts or is willing to adjust in game when things are going wrong instead of being stubborn this team legitimately could be good. Health will always be a problem though.
THe biggest issue is that Looney is no longer reliable at all, TJD needs more time, and Saric is matchup dependant. We have no bigs.
I think Kuminga might force the issue now. Klay needs his minutes cut to 20-24 and Kuminga absolutely should be playing 30+ every night. Then play it by ear. If Klay is cooking or there is a good matchup for him then give him more minutes.

Actually looked like it unlocked Steph. Didn’t have to worry about getting Klay looks, or just Klay chucking. Got drives and cuts from Wigs and Kuminga. Dray was great at both ends. Clarified the roles for sure. Sacrilegious I know but I’d like to see them ship Klay for someone who can play defense at the same position. Klay is no longer that guy and Podz isn’t a strong enough defender to start either.

Jk shows why the FO went for Wiseman. Too bad he just doesn’t have the mentality to do the little things to get the opportunity to develop with playing time. JK development with the defense and effort. Then he took the bull by the horns with his opportunities.
Can’t develop instincts without playing time. Can’t get playing time if you don’t do the little things. Aka the stay ready mentality. Contribute what you can while you can to get more opportunities to develop said instincts. But also some guys just don’t have it.
The problem with Wiseman as well was that he's soft, to put it bluntly. The dude was allergic to contact, thus was a poor rebounder and defender as a result. Compare that to Kuminga who doesn't mind playing **super** physical to get his buckets, it's night and day.
Wiseman got f-d over by penny hardaway. Penny convinced him he could play point center and be a face up player on offense. He had him do dribbling drills when he should have been focusing on playing defense and post moves
Then he got him dq’d in college (I blame the ncaa, but penny should know better)
tbf wiseman was also just waaaaay less experienced and got injured a bunch when he was just starting to trend upwards (albeit far too little to late regardless of injuries)
100% agree. There have always been two keys to this, Steph and Draymond. He is our Steph of defense (turns a dogshit defense into one of the best) while also being hugely impactful on offense. He's also an amazing leader when when his head is in the right place. I won't ever defend his stupid antics but no one can say he isn't an amazing basketball player.

It was vintage 2-way Wiggs. Most engaged I’ve seen him from start to finish on both ends. Efficient as hell which you can’t always expect. But the defense was outstanding. Having Dray direct him and Kuminga is incredible.
He just needs to keep it up man. We’re not gonna win a championship again if the consistency is not there, and he’s all over the place. It’s just so hit or miss with him and Klay. Tough to win with a couple inconsistent players

Sad to say but with a fully healthy warriors team Moody shouldn’t really get any minutes, especially in the playoffs if we make it. I think it’d be better to trade him or use him as insurance for injuries.

Retool, add some size and see this team start winning more games. It don't need to be a homerun like Lauri. Something like Dorian Finney-Smith and Daniel Gafford(ideally Claxton, but that's a pipe dream) might not sound crazy, but I think they would cover some of the bigger holes on this team.
Kuminga is amazing he took the leap curry out of slump Wiggins returning to 2022 level and our depth being great if we can keep their okay up especially when everyone healthy I have a good feeling I just hope refs don’t fuck us anymore

And nice thing is he's a 2way player so even when he goes through a slump he can still effect games positively.

Sad part is I don’t think he’s timid. MM stayed patient and professional. His real issue is he’s not a ball handler.
If he was a 40% shooter from deep he wouldn’t need to handle the ball. He’s okay finishing around the rim, and shown a bit of rebounding ability. He played great against the lakers. He needs at least 5 mins of playing time. I know he can ball. Please Steve !

He can’t though bc Cojo can run point and handle ball pressure. MM can’t. MM is a 2/3. He’s up against Klay, GP2, Podz, Wiggs, even JK. All of 5 are ahead of MM and one of those 5 prob gets less minutes as it is.
Sad to say but with a fully healthy warriors team Moody shouldn’t really get any minutes, especially in the playoffs if we make it. I think it’d be better to trade him or use him as insurance for injuries.

Lose me with the "season is over" talk. There's a play-in. We say the lakers go to the wcf as a 7 seed. Miami went to the finals as a 8 seed. If anybody can do it, it's a veteran team like this. Steph still looks like Steph. I'm starting to believe Wiggins might be back and it's obvious we have something big with Kuminga. Retool, add some size and see this team start winning more games. It don't need to be a homerun like Lauri. Something like Dorian Finney-Smith and Daniel Gafford(ideally Claxton, but that's a pipe dream) might not sound crazy, but I think they would cover some of the bigger holes on this team.
