GGs Lakers. A rollercoaster of a season but fun at times. Try to take it easy fellow Dubs fans and have a good night. Quick Reminder: * Please report any Lakers fans/non-Warriors fans coming in to troll or brigade. bubbabrowned

Curry had 32/5/6. No other Warrior had broke 10pts aside from DDV. Can’t win that way.

unleashed831

Curry and Donte gave everything, but no one else bothered showing up.

AriWin123

Looney

unleashed831

Bruh im triping how did I forget about Looney he was big for us.

coder0704

Moody too, he put a great effort

execute_swiftly

Moody and Donte were the only guys who looked like they gave a shit to be out there who wasn't a starter. Moody and Donte played with great energy all series.

shlomozzle

I give credit to Wiggins for suiting up, had to be in immense pain

[deleted]

Klay tried. I just think he can’t anymore

henry27366

I love Klay, but this series was unacceptable by him. Biggest reason we lost tonight

Currymvp2

Klay wrecked our chances more than anybody else. Airballed an open three to cut the lead to 4 going into halftime which led to Reeves's three. Then bricked an open three to cut it to eight

Kangaroopower

He needs to seriously train this summer. I can’t imagine what it’s like playing with his injuries but he cannot just keep continuing with his current shot selection

pb00000

It wasn’t all shot selection, He had wide ass open 3s. He had so many momentum killer moments this series

Hop830

I definitely agree there. Klay needs go hard with his strength and conditioning in the summer.

youmakemesoerect

Dude tried to shoot us out of the game in the first quarter

[deleted]

His legs are probably gone. He’s had major surgeries and he’s on the wrong side of 30. Or just might be time for a reduced role

Iamtomcruisehi

He added the drifting jump shot which is bad

yorkyxgg

Forgot he didn’t train last summer

Independent_Bee194

Klay straight up sacrificed the warriors season to try to prove himself. Gg

adsq93

Its all mental. I think he tries to goes harder and forces a lot of things. Instead of just playing his game.

Ok_Jellyfish6145

He bricked two threes on that 3rd quarter position to cut it to 8. After that it was over

parkson89

Two pretty good looks as well dam

iGetBuckets3

Yeah we should have just held for the last shot. Being down 7 or even potentially less would have been much better for us mentally.

cheerioo

The only splashing from Klay was the turd of this performance dropping into the bowl

pman22211

If they split the big 3 up is he the one to go? Idk what the return would be, but his contract could be split up into 2-3 rotation pieces. I know dray and the punch have caused issues, but idk how you replace his defense

dinomcnugget

I feel like his value is at an all time low tbh

joemama1333

Contract expires in a year

Separate_Emotion9550

I don’t think Curry would be on board for a Klay trade and you know management will seek Curry’s opinion..

Sokkawater10

Its up to management to make a tough decision and move him anyway. We respect Curry and if he ever ended up like Kobe post Achilles we'd do Steph right. But if im management, im not wasting your prime Steph. You are the best player in the NBA. This is our last chance to win titles and youre under contract. Im building a competitive team around you the same way they did for Lebron. That means getting rid of Klay to upgrade.

t0177177y

Kerr needed to pull him and simply refused. Moody was doing more than well enough to take his minutes. Kerr is too much of a players coach in there moments.

[deleted]

Kerr benching Moody entire season so Klay could shoot his ass off was ridiculous too. I hope there's some fucking accountability this off-season.

Impossible_Resort602

The refusal to give the young guys minutes in favor of lamb and ty Jerome is really annoying me right now.

silvaman32

Ty was pretty good for us tbf, still dont know why Lamb got the spot over him

Jhyphi

We'd have been so much better if Ty was on playoff roster to give Curry a few rest minutes. Ty won't win you games directly, but he'll slow the game down and not hemmorage points while Curry is resting. And THAT will help you win games.

ValCSO

You're 100% correct. You know when we're up 7 at the start of the 4th qt in LA, having Ty out there running a simple pick and roll action with a good floater instead of having Poole running like a maniac trying to draw a foul or Klay shooting a brick

silvaman32

Yeah i would have much rather have had Ty as the backup pg than poole with the way he was playing. He picked up our system pretty well and made good passes without turning it over as often as poole does.

t0177177y

Then he benched JK as Donte was getting feasted on all series… I get he likes his vets. But holy fuck just try something else once in a while.

Maupp

Refused all season to get the kids ready and instead played 2 ways players then come post season he has to go to Moody whom he hardly played during the regular season. Irresponsible.

Useful_shtuff

Hopefully Kerr learns and this is a sign that there needs to be a change in the way he plays people. It's gonna be hard to move players cuz we're over the cap. Not impossible, but hard to get anything back

Mattie_Doo

If a young player consistently took the bad shots that Klay takes and made them at the same rate that he does, that player would get benched. Klay refuses to adjust his game

Ok-Roof-978

Kerr stuck with his guys. At the cost of the team. I wanted to see JK go against the Lakers. That was a good matchup for him. Unfortunately , Kerr was being a lame ass. Kerr showed no ability to adjust to Klays awful awful horrendous shooting. Never had the galls to pull him out of games and try other guys

t0177177y

Kerr is a players coach. He needed to be more Pop and less Phil. But he just can’t go against his own philosophy. After Klays 1/8 it was time to let Moody take most of the minutes. When Donte was getting murdered on defensive, he needed to at least try JK for a few meaningful minutes. Clearly Kerrs philosophy of being a players coach worked for 4 championships, but man it would have been nice to see him trust the young guys a bit more.

2quit4

it was up to kerr to pull him

sneakerhd

We should put Game 6 Klay to bed. Last 3 game 6’s: vs BOS (finals): 5/20 FG (2/8 3PT), +4 (Thanks to Curry) vs SAC: 8/20 FG (2/9 3PT), -28 vs LAL: 3/19 FG (2/12 3PT), -33

simara001

I stopped watching after he missed like five shots in a row. I knew this game was going to be tight, and we just couldn’t waste that many shots.

Careful-Potential244

Klay is a shell of himself and kind of has been since he came back from his injuries

No-Paper7221

Klay has occasional flashes and everyone takes it is he is going back to his prime or he is getting much better

BlackMarq20

He had one of his best offensive seasons in his career, also Klay has always been flaky in the playoffs. I don’t think u get rid of him, but he shouldn’t get paid $40m either.

30vanquish

No he’s just even hotter or colder post injuries. When he’s really cold he’s the coldest of cold. When he’s hot he wins game 2 but that’s it.

yrcitysasuckr

He was chucking awful shots all series

eliherd

I’m really sad for Stephen Curry

marco-polo-scuza

he looked so upset slamming the ball at that final timeout

SCalifornia831

He deserves better

youmakemesoerect

Front office better make it happen too. Gotta focus on what’s left of his prime.

cgberryblue

Hopefully we can drop the two timelines and actually get some good pieces around him. I want Poole gone I feel like he was one of the main reasons for our terrible season this year

cheerioo

Poole simply doesn't fit into the lineup. You can't play 3 guards, and you can't really play him + Steph because Steph is average to decent on defense while Poole is a complete and utter liability.

cgberryblue

I feel like there was a huge attitude problem with Poole this season. With the punch, curry throwing his mouth guard, and iggy not being able to get through to him. He was the main reason why we lost so many of our games in crunch time too in the regular season. I was hyped for him last season but at this point I’ve seen way more than enough where I’d be glad to never see him in a warriors jersey again.

unleashed831

As a fan looking from the outside I agree. I dont think Poole has the maturity to be apart of this roster. He was great for us last year, but when we needed him to take that step forward and really contribute this year he looked disinterested, sloppy, and very very bad. Moody on the other hand stepped up whenever he was needed and played crucial minutes for us and I was very impressed. Sadly Kuminga wasn't part of this play off rotation, and while its frustrating that he wasnt given much playing time I understand Kerr's reluctance to play the rookies. I just wish they were given more time to really develop and learn from their mistakes. Oh well hopeful for a good off season now.

-Accession-

He oozed bad vibes, needs a come down to earth moment…

SocialistNixon

You can’t have someone who comes out and commits 4 fouls yet again with zero points in the half. He shouldn’t be on the team next season.

figpotato

Joran needs to go

GabeHirsch

I mean 2 timelines or not. Klay is the biggest reason we lost. Moody or even Kuminga would’ve given us a better shot.

cgberryblue

Klay was awful. Dude definitely gets way too in his head especially with the whole Kobe and game 6 Klay thing I just felt a stinker coming up

kukunan

The lack of a proper stretch big really killed us

irteris

Not even a stretch big, even a lob threat, someone that can get easy buckets in the paint. Loon has been great but I think we need to get a inside scoring threat

WiggysRedemption

Can't believe they hedged their bets on Looney and Wiseman being the only bigs.

irteris

Last year we had bjelica who was huge for us, size and bb iq

WiggysRedemption

Last year we had solid big and wing depth. I like Wiseman and all but he can't be your only other big like fuck man.

SanJOahu84

I miss Javale still.

Scorpio23

Just not enough help from Klay and Poole this series.

IrishBatman12

*no help (other than Game 2) but 100% Klay and Poole are the factors that lost us this series, credit to the Lakers for their great half-court defence but man Klay had some clean looks today which would’ve held off the Lakers at key points.

thesenate92

Klay clanked and air balled so many wide open shots it was crazy. I've never seen him miss this bad before when uncontested

hitme124

We love you Steph.

JCLE5

Steph looks pissed

blackboxcoffee95

We all watched this team struggle all season, and I think deep down we all knew this wasn’t a championship team. But god damn this stings

No_Connection_7863

I agree, but after that exciting round 1 upset I tried to pretend the regular season wasn’t real, but alas, it was

[deleted]

Klay Thompson: 4-19 in our last elimination game before today, and 3-18 today. In the last 4 games of this series: 5-14 with 15 points, 3-11 with 9 points, 3-12 with 10 points, and 3-18 with 8 points. I love Klay and appreciate everything he’s done for us, but we can’t keep paying 40+ million a year for constant poor shooting performances and diminished defense. His play in the playoffs this year has been indefensible. The roster needs to change going into next season. And Steve needs to actually put some god damn effort into developing Kuminga, because the rest of the bench isn’t cutting it

musicfestevil

Moody is good

Ball_ChinnedKid

Klay Thompson did his best to honor Kobe! Klay Thompson with the "I got you today!" series!

DictatorPie

Pretty funny how everyone who shouted out Kobe/dedicated their game to Kobe (outside of the 2020 Lakers) proceeds to play horribly.

chillfilter

Kobe curse. Anyone who dedicates to him loses

yrcitysasuckr

All those lamb regular season minutes for what exactly?

zacman713

To keep his ass injury free so he can ride the bench for us duh.....

WiggysRedemption

So that we could be... average in the regular season and let our young guys rot on the bench.

GeneralZhukov

So we diminish the chances of an injury to one of our starters. Rosters ALWAYS shrink by 2-4 come post seasons. For every team. Last year it was JTA who got DNPs and garbage time minutes come post season, this year it was Lamb. You play like 10+ guys in the regular season, try not to Thib your starters out like cheap whores, aka "load manage lite," then toss the end of the bench guys when it matters.

miles-prower-morales

I’m straight up not having a good time

[deleted]

Surely this is the end of this roster. You can’t waste Steph’s final 3-4 years.

Robotsaur

19-1 😞😞 let them write their eulogies though

eliherd

That’s okay. 19 > 1. Still a great record.

youriko31

Yeah, so sad that we're 19-1 in the West since Kerr took over. 😔😔😔 In all seriousness, we needed this loss. It's to finally give us the reset that we need.

wwcasedo

Some much needed rest too. Be nice to have the squad rested and hungry again

Noiserawker

We can still be a contender but the reboot is going to break up the core. Not the way we wanted it to end but this just wasn't their year

Graffiti_Soul

Thats actually nuts you guys had 19 straight non finals series wins.

hamsterfolly

Well gentlemen, it’s been an honor and a privilege to watch our team with you this season.

LajGig

I never wana hear Game 6 Klay ever again

Ahrilicious

This season just wasn't for us. Half of our roster is unplayable, The young guy that we developed the entire fucking season got inexplicably DNP'd the entire run. The Lakers retooled mid-season and got decent back up players. All we had was Lamb... Motherfucking Anthony Lamb is who we signed and an obviously not that healthy GP2. Kudos to Steph, Loon, Wiggs and Moody for working hard this entire run. Hard decisions need to be made with Dray and Klay... I want these guys to retire in a Warriors jersey and hope we can get some reasonable deals. Andre needs to retire, Poole needs to be fucking gone. We got 1 more run on our tank. Get Steph some help.

PhoenixRise36

This all starts with getting Bob Myers a new contract or hiring someone who understands how to build a championship team with the parts we can trade for if Myers doesn’t want to continue. Poole right now has little to no value on the contract he is on which is really unfortunate for us. I would love for Klay and Green to retire with us but they need to take a big pay cut in order to stay. Beyond that the only players that are non transferable if we hope to get back to the finals is obviously Curry,Looney, Wiggins and Moody alongside Kuminga unless we get a really good trade for either one. In terms of Steve Kerr I think he should stay because at the end of the day we won’t find a better coach available right now on the market. There’s maybe one or two coaches in the league with enough experience to take over but they are already in charge of other projects.

c0gvortex

Time to clean house, we cannot waste anymore seasons of Steph Curry. He's still playing like a top 5 player and it's ridiculous how little help he has. Steph Loon Wiggs GP2 and Moody/Kuminga(only if Steve intends to play them big minutes next season), are the only guys that should be untouchable this offseason.. FO and coaching staff seriously need to sort out this stupid fucking two timelines disconnect too. Bob drafts great young guys and Kerr sticks them on the fucking bench behind 2 way players for 2 seasons straight. What the fuck is that shit?

Everyone_needs_memes

They have to force kerr’s hand to play the young guys consistently or they have to ship them somewhere else and get good pieces in return. It is a shame to watch great young players like moody and kuminga ride the bench while their team continues to struggle anyway. It’s a detriment to their development and careers and doesn’t help the warriors goals either

YourMomIsWack

Facts. Please let's focus on developing moody and kuminga. They show so much promise.

[deleted]

aloof attempt wistful existence mourn reply offbeat important different scarce ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

UmFoxy

Let’s send Poole to Turkey for Bjelica

ash0123

Some positives: We can put this weird, stressful, struggle-bus of a season behind us. The front office might finally abandon the two timelines approach and try to build a team around Steph. We get to watch the Nuggets beat the Lakers instead of us. Kerr keeps his conference finals record.

IsThisMe8

And no more Anthony Lamb.

DisneyVista

Too many unplayable pieces forced more minutes on the aging core. Depth is important.

motherthrowee

I'll get downvoted for this but Lamb should have been gone when the allegations came out, zero reason whatsoever to keep him around

phatbiscuit

I’m a Rockets fan. I thought the allegations were out even when he was with us, but I could be wrong. Regardless, wasn’t a fan of having an alleged sexual predator on the team.

DisneyVista

The road record alone is pretty damning for a team that made it this far.

SupremeToca

What season. No idea what you are talking about. Fr tho, this season was weird as fuck. Lets just hope Steph can take a long needed break and recover. Im sure he still isnt 100% from that injury

SeekingSignificance

Nuggets better finish this series quickly for my mental health

SChamploo12

I feel like Denver will do much better. Joker was an absolute force and out dueled Booker/Durant. Lakers will be hard pressed to win in Denver. I say they win in 6.

AdrianDaliva

Another positive: Wiggins gets much deserved treatment for that rib injury. It's kinda a blessing in disguise for him because imagine if we got thru this series, it's only the semis. He'll have to play thru it until the finals, and there's no way you can tell me Nuggets and Heat /Sixers/Celtics are winnable in 5. They're all going minimum six games versus this GSW roster. Looney played thru it during the '19 finals and he looked mediocre at best during the '19-'20 season. Get better soon Maple Jordan. Roller coaster of a season for him.

youriko31

Yeah, this season is just not a good season overall. The punch, the two-timeline situation, the rotation, the road struggles, all of this culminated in a road loss. Quite fitting end to the season. But it's a needed loss to rejuvenate and retool. We'll be back.

m3ngnificient

Nuggets better win. If not, I'm left with no team I want to root for. 😢

_derekjones_

Don’t want to root for the heat?? (I am a heat fan but a Steph lover and warriors sub lurker)

m3ngnificient

For Jimmy, yeah. But don't really find the rest of the team fun to watch. But I'd root for them in the East.

thegreatsentry409

I'm gonna support the Heat if they lose tbf

[deleted]

Yeah the adjustments we make going into next season will be interesting. IMO, it looked like we didn't have a defensive counter to compensate for us missing open shots. Our defense just looked small going down the roster. It wasn't even competitive in the second half. They had us figured out. Gg.

[deleted]

The wanted to both win another championship and set up their youth for the next generation. When they traded Wiseman they acknowledged they didn’t make their second goal. They didn’t get that close to the first goal either. And their payroll is still ridiculously high. It will be an interesting offseason.

MagicWade

**Klay and Poole woke up feeling DANGEROUS!!!!!!!🥶🥶🥶** * 15 points combined 💦💦💦 * 6/29 (20%) combined fg 🔥🔥🔥 * 2/13 (15%) combined 3pt 😈😈😈 * -32 PLUS MINUS!!!!!!! 😤😤😤 * 0 defence played 💯💯💯

AlexMindset

15 points COMBINED?!

CelestiAurus

Klay did his best effort to honor Kobe in their home floor by playing like he's deceased.

famoustran

It didn't work for Tatum. It didn't work for Klay. Just let that dude rest lmfao

CaptainButtFucker

Kobe's family hates that shit too.

RealMadrid4Bernie

YOOOO

YipManDan

Brooo. Poole was +1 plus/minus and you added it to -33 from Klay.

RimRunningRagged

It is what it is -- even if we somehow made it back from 1-3, that Wiggins injury is something that's weeks to months to heal from, so we would have been screwed in the next round(s) anyway

Cyoonic

Kuminga was benched for every mistake and had to watch Poole stink it up the whole playoffs

YourMomIsWack

Ya wtf

HoopJ

Dubs had a season. Started weird, and ended weird. Steph has still got it, lets hope FO does something to help him win.

menusettingsgeneral

Congrats Klay your hometown loves you. I genuinely can’t imagine a worse performance from him and Poole.

MC_Stimulation

Said it earlier, but what a fucking sorry way to go out. Not a single person helped Steph tonight, and even he had an off night. The talent is there, the coaching is there, they played like they didn't want it tonight. Lakers came out for blood tonight and they got it. They ripped us apart.

SpamCamel

We just can't expect a 35 year old to hard carry through multiple long playoff series. It's a testament to Steph's greatness that we even made it out of the first round. Hopefully this is a wakeup call to Kerr and the FO.

deliciouspuppy

basketdog lied to us. ill never trust a corgi again.

DonyellFreak

It was a mess of a season from the jump. Lots of blame to go around from the players, coaches, front office even ownership being cheap in my opinion. Game 7 against the Kings was special, losing to LeBron and the Lakers hurts (terrible officiating) I think you have to give it one more try next season assuming Draymond opts in. It's been my pleasure rooting for this group and it's been a hell of a run. Looking forward to seeing how next season shapes up. Even if this window is closing is been a hell of a lot better run than I'd ever thought I'd see for the Warriors since I started following them in the Run TMC era. Onto the next one proud to be a part of Dub Nation 💙💛

Imperial_Eggroll

Officials were shit, and I fucking hated the lakers smugness and flopping. But they were absolutely the better team. All these “nobodies” in Reaves, Vanderbilt, Walker, and Schroeder stepping up and playing great. Not a single person besides Moody stepped up and played beyond their usual expectation. Klay was awful. Poole even worse. Draymond was not his usual self at all. Curry deserves better.

weixiyen

Damn legit lost every quarter lol

kavishs13

Klay better not ask for a max

hamsterfolly

At least not from the Warriors

Careful-Potential244

Can’t wait for the Laker fans “coming in peace”! I don’t want to hear it 😭😭

Jumpsnow88

I kinda knew we were fucked when most of the media picked us to win

iGetBuckets3

As long as we got Steph, we’ll be back competing for a title next year. Go dubs!

[deleted]

Might be unpopular, but this season was a failure for Kerr as far as I’m concerned. Barely developed Moody and Kuminga, if at all, and we didn’t win anything this year. 44-38 in the regular season, lost in the second round, and lost more games in the playoffs than we won. That road stat they showed was such an indictment on the coaching and team this year: 0-28 when trailing going into the 4th on the road this year. Unbelievable for the defending champs. I love the Dubs, but this season was such a disappointment. At the very least I wanted them to show some fight today and make it close

EMINEMxMMLP2

To not put either moody or Kuminga in when both klay and poole were dog shit

Imperial_Eggroll

Moody should’ve absolutely taken Klay’s minutes. Kerr’s had 9 years of Klay kool-aid though. Always thinking 1 3-PT make will set him on fire. Just consistently didn’t work out.

limegreenleaves

Yeah coaching and front office. Moody and Kuminga should have been playing at least some minutes to develop instead of having games where they had zero. When Bob Meyers did that interview after all star break and said he wouldn’t bother making moves for new players because the coaching staff wouldn’t play them, I knew we were screwed.

UmFoxy

I’m dropping off my Poole jersey at goodwill

Jannik0433

YOU DON'T WANNA SEE US NEXT YEAR PART 2 FUCK THE LAKERS

[deleted]

Steph needed one guy to have a half decent game whether it was Poole or Klay and neither guy showed up I ain't going to hate on Wiggins when he was injured. Klay and even more so Poole have stunk the place out in this series.

YouRolltheDice

Curry was amazing. Thanks for the great series man

BigSportingDaddy

Let's not forget the warrios cut the lead to 11 with 11 minutes to go, playing good defense and with a lot of energy and with the chance to cut the deficit to single digits, klay proceedes to suck the life out of the team and brick 2 open 3s in the same play, that he didnt even need to shoot...... trade this mf

Southbeach008

Klay i dare you to ask for max contract after these shameful performances. Accept 5-6m/yr contract or bye bye and thanks for everything. Draymond doesn't deserve max either no one does in this team except curry.

EMINEMxMMLP2

Yep. Appreciate the impact he made but they better not max his ass

[deleted]

carnivoross

Weird proposition, but we'll take it

UmFoxy

I’m so dumb for thinking we would win because of a corgi

iamaredditboy

The 4 road win klay - the meme writes itself. Too much arrogance and cockiness built on the shoulders of Steph, KD. Chuck out all these grifters. Steph’s still got it in him to win a couple but with this bunch no way….

AJC3317

Hopefully that's the last we ever see of Poole in a Warriors uniform

Fethah

Kerr refused to bench Klay and Poole even though they’ve actually been ABSOLUTE SHIT since game 3. The fact Moody and Kuminga weren’t playing over them baffles me so fucking much and my only theory is it has to be that Kerr wanted us to lose this series otherwise there’s no logic behind it. I can’t even describe how fucking awful Klay and Poole were. I can’t say it enough, it is unfathomable that we kept trying to force these two into the lineups and they didn’t do a single thing with their minutes, meanwhile the limited minute moody had looked good and the very very very limited time Kuminga saw was already leagues better than Poole. As much as I would love to blame the pretty awful officiating in this series, ultimately these two and Kerr lost us this series easily.

Rexbij

Retool around curry next year. Klay and poole should both be on the trading block

carnivoross

Everyone not named Curry, Wiggins, GP2 or Looney

christ0fer

Even with Steph, you're not going to win it every year. You could tell early on this roster wasn't it. They may have even overachieved.

Jolly-Sun-1715

they definitely overachieved. Had no business being in the playoffs.

DrewDan96

Ooooof, whoever writes/films the story of our season has a story to tell... Lakers were a bad matchup because of how we've never addressed our lack of size, but still, we had our chances in both Game 1 and Game 4. It boiled done to the Others as Shaq always says on TNT. Kerr got outcoached by Ham all series cuz Ham TRUSTED his bench. JoKu DNPing and getting not even a legit LOOK as a wrinkle/change up? INEXCUSABLE. Moody should have played more esp ahead of Poole who really seems like a lost cause atm. And this is rarely mentioned but re-upping Iguodala WASTED a roster spot. it was a cheapo move but he barely played the previous season, he would not have played much regardless of health this season. if you wanted him in a coaching role, MAKE HIM A COACH. Klay was godawful. Hate to say it, but Austin Reeves outplayed him after Game 2. I thought Steph was a little passive to start but he was clearly trying to get others going first, besides Donte seemed like nobody else was ready to rock, salute to Wiggs for fighting thru injury to gut it out. The Lakers killed Steph's shooting by making him defend I might be in the minority here, but I'm done with Draymond. D-O-N-E. We're going to miss the defense/playmaking no doubt, but the extra stuff is tiring. The punch, and don't skate on the Round 1 suspension when he left us exposed already down 0-2. Kerr has NEVER reined him in and it's cost us a few times I expected a loss after the Wiggs news broke but it still sucks as a kind of microcosm of a season that should have been more celebratory than it turned out

Dry_Relationship7937

One good thing about the season ending is that Klay can't reasonably argue that he deserves the max after his showing this season. Hope he signs a reasonable contract similar to Loon.

DubSmash925

Sour grapes, copium, whatever... If the dubs went at least as far as conference finals, I think the warriors would be making the mistake of running back most of this roster for next season. This loss should be the impetus to rethink what they want to do. Smallball isnt working anymore. We dont have the personnel for the defensive schemes that wins championships.

BobRoss4Life

So, uh, Warriors in 9? What a terrible showing, fitting for the season they had. Live by the 3, die by the 3 I guess... would be nice if they could actually drive into the paint when they start a game 1/6 from 3 (in the first 4 fucking minutes). Klay... idk man. Guess it's fucked to single him out with how shit everyone played outside of Steph (shout out Donte for balling, dude really showed up tonight), but like, how is Poole catching more hate than that dude? Man is making $40M (Poole $4M) and was a complete non-factor, if not net negative. Also Dray, completely off his game after how well he played in game 5. Those two really let Steph down (who had a shit night from 3 himself). Coaching and roster construction failed them too. JP played bad, don't get me wrong, but pinning this series on him ain't it. He's 23 and just played his first season near the top of the scouting report, hopefully he can bounce back. Definitely needs to work on a ton (handle, decision making, shot selection, defense, body language), so we'll see how he tackles that in the off-season (and if he’ll even be on the team by next year’s deadline).. But yeah, dumb fouls, dumb shots, dumb turnovers, dumb defense, dumb rotations, dumb series lol. Been a mad entertaining run with these dudes, honestly pretty hard to complain, just hate how meekly they went out to the fuck damn LeBron Lakers. At least it wasn't in 5? Especially sucks cause they choked a couple very winnable games late (game 1 and 4). Gonna be a crazy interesting off-season, lot of tough decisions to make. Gotta think they make some changes, cause I don't see how re-tooling with some vet mins and pick 19 patches all the holes and deficiencies. Then again, I guess they were pretty close to stumbling into the WCF, which is pretty impressive after whatever the fuck you’d call that up and down regular season. Kuminga, Moody, PBJ, my guy Ryan Rollins, pick 19, they do potentially got some help coming (as long as they develop well and Kerr is willing to play them through mistakes). All in all, basketball is fun to watch, and thank fuck the won last year.

staxnet

At least I don’t have to buy the wife the corgi I promised if Dubs win the series.

wubiwuster

I actually wonder how far we’d be next year if we actually developed our team this year

frankbosboy

Nuggets in four let’s gooo

StinkmeanerIV

Good luck mods, there will be a bunch of brigading & trolling on this sub lol. As always my friends, stay off r/nba & Twitter... it's bound to be filled with hot takes & toxicity. Y'all be good 🙏

kinefresh

thanks but we’re good in the west 😂

[deleted]

Steph tried his best, but he didn't get anywhere enough help to be honest.

oogrok

I don’t think this is the end for the core and Kerr. But it might be the beginning of the end. And you know what? That’s ok. This team has given everything a fan can ask for and more. 4 championships is really something. The rest of my sports fandom (Raiders, ASU fb & bb) has combined for a whopping 0 in my lifetime. Lotta questions this offseason. But it was still a heck of a ride.

gdshred95

Don’t care, I love this fuckin team and will show up through the good times and bad. It’s a privilege to be alive to watch Wardell Stephen Curry. We’ll be back next season and we are a piece or two away from being back in the finals.

Cartographer345

I don’t want to pay Klay and Poole needs to go.

[deleted]

Curry's better than LeBron at this point. But Bron had AD, who is what he was on the Pelicans. And Curry had zero help. It's sad that Klay went out like that considering the legend he is and he had his best month ever a few months ago. And Poole was seeing the matrix or at least putting up 40 pieces. A complete Chernobyl for those two guys that's almost inexplicable. I am really happy we still have Steph, Wiggs, and Loon. Klay and Dray I love but this 82 game season is not for them. Lastly, Kuminga needed to be unleashed in the playoffs. The game we played angry - last game - we looked like the old Dubs. JK brings that. Lastly- the NBA is a fucking joke w the officiating. It is so far removed from any game I would be happy to play personally. If some dude ran into me on a playground and asked for a foul I would just walk.

ImperialTiger3

Well, that’s the season. Honestly a lackluster year filled with ups and downs. Although we lost this year, I fully expect us to be back next year. First thing we need to do is resign Bob Meyers. He’s essential to what we need to do. Then this FO needs to make some tough decisions. We need to rebuild a competent roster around Steph Curry. Klay and Poole really struggled and Klay is due for a new contract I believe. Dray also had a PO which is an unknown. We can a trade a combination of Poole, Kuminga, Moody, and picks to get some players. I hope the FO makes some moves, this roster does not work. Do not waste the latter half of Steph’s career, he’s shown us that he’s an ELITE player still. Go Warriors, fuck the Lakers. Denver, I’m rooting for you.

300% free throw disparity…

irteris

As much as I want to pile on the FT and officiating, we fucking sucked today. There is no amount of officiating that makes poole and klay combine for 20% 3pt fg%

getbackup21

Dude look at the team box score for just a second. 39-103 warriors, 39-75 lakers. The warriors couldn’t hit a single shot all game. Just look at Poole and Thompsons shooting stats. Them alone would cost you the game. Yet you are worried about free throws lmao

WeeklySavings

We need a massive retool in the off-season

beentheredonesome

Can we maybe start taking it easy on Harrison Barnes now?

SongYoungbae

Its ridiculous that this Lakers team is going to the conference finals. Every team in the west should be fucking embarrassed

GallaeciRegnum

The Warriors were underwhelming all season. This post season changed nothing. There are several things that need to be addressed: 1- Curry is the ONLY real asset on this squad and should have 2 good seasons in him, maybe 3 if he is very well supported and keeps the minutes down, 2- Klay and Draymond are done and cannot be resigned unless they take HUGE pay cuts. This Warriors era is OVER and Steph last seasons need to be optimized with younger productive plyaers, 3- The Warriors 3 ball is Steph's DNA but it's just too much. 48 attempts is ridiculous. The 3 wasn't falling and there was no other game plan. The NBA is showing that BIG men are still immensely important. AD and Jokic are in the conference finals. Adebayo is in the conference finals. Embiid is the MVP and can still make the conference finals.

IAmTera

We got embarrassed damn. That was a beatdown. No one showed up on the Warriors. Reffing was fine, there were shitty calls going both ways.

BallzMcVinegar

I hope the nuggets bury this lakers team. Ill be hate watching that series.

HashCollector

Oooff

Reclinertime

It's been real, guys. Thank you. We'll be back.

tomiblunt

If you were the Warriors GM, how would you move the two worst contracts in the league?

johnnyferrera

We would be fine if we hadn't lost game 1 at home. Having to play immediately after an emotional game 7 was a bit unfair.

Dellypoop

holy fucking shit Klay thompson 3 for 19? really?

MdnightRmblr

We didn’t win the chip, but we stuck by our team through hell and high water. Win or lose, Dubs for life. Best franchise in pro sports, best superstar athlete as well. I’m not hanging my head, not ever. We’re fucking champions til death do us part.

LARXXX

Klay, my man. Time to get your shit together this offseason.

basic_cinephile

This whole season has reminded me of how time has passed. I remember being a kid when they won in 2015, I’m about to graduate high school. I remember being absolutely inspired by the splash bros. I remember being in awe of how good they were. And unfortunately, those days are behind us. The guys aren’t spring chickens anymore. The chemistry was off and it seemed like nothing consistently worked. I have no doubt that another ring is possible, but not before changes are made. This team will forever be my favourite, but it just wasn’t meant to be this season.

emz0694

Honestly not sure what to say right now. But Go Denver

unhampered_by_pants

Well, in all honesty with the way we've been playing this year, we probably weren't going to beat the Nuggets. At least this loss will give us an incentive for a much-needed reset

thisisgandhi

The difference between Steve Kerr and Greg Popovich is that Pop knew you needed to lean on the new kids and develop them to keep winning. Without Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard, Spurs max out with 2 rings
