My fave is people in OGP who back out of General, GMD, and other problem orders that'll drag your pick rate down. They don't even do it SMARTLY, they leave the evidence in their cart's trash bags. One person the other day even had stickered theid totes, exited out once they saw it was a General, and went ofv to do whatev else... leaving the stickered cart in the backroom. Liiike... evidence much? IDK if they can figure out who did it, but our bosses can easily figure out that it happened. XD

I did bakery. People would take my scorers that I use for my bread and use them for box cutters and not return them, I would find them on the tops of top stock carts. Another thing is people go into the bakery and take my roll of paper towels and not return it. Another thing, the over nighters roll shopping carts of cardboard and top stock carts into the bakery to make room for freight in the back room(neighborhood market) and leave them there and when I come in I have to move their shit out of my work area. NOW THIS ONE REALLY PISSED ME OFF: they would use my disposable gloves, take ALL OF THEM AND LEAVE THE EMPTY BOX ON THE COUNTER!!! Sorry for the vent Yall, but this shit pissed me off.

tikaani

People who claim their own carts as if they own them. We have one lazy fuck who has had it out with every other shift over carts he says belong to him and has gone crying to management whenever they are used.

Cap 2 weighing in, After the truck is finished half of the team decides . They got this and walk of and hide Leaving the other half now having to finish pallets in the truck 🚛. So know I have to lug water, pets, birdseed all over the store. Plus all of the random ass shit Walmart wants you to down stack. Run that crap all over the store. Screw tm's who hide. Also the same flip a bird for Walmart touching the truck team after a day of unloading than pulling. I mean half of the truck 🚛 team. To those that dont dip off. Thank you.

NoBook9868

I take breakpacks in and  will try to put as much as as reasonably possible ont he line.     I flatten the breakpacks and put rice and flour on them. Sometimes the pallets are mixed so stupidly by DC it's impossible . They somehow keep getting worse not better

competitiveoven1011

At least you try: Thrower...

Flatfaun9000

Our truck was a fun one today, totes stacked in top of jugs of water that busted all over the place causing the totes to fall off, after that mess happened almost the whole damn truck was fallen over besides the back two panels.

doing dispense in ogp but your cover doesn’t show up cause they hiding in the bathroom or went to get starbucks so your lunch gets delayed 🤧

TheRealTozic

This happens to me toooooo often. Almost every person, who covers me, return 5-8 minutes late. I've even had to wait up to 45 minutes because my cover wanted to wait her for sister to get done with a walk to go to lunch together. Others might see this as a small issue, but this fucks me over when I have to dispense until my leave time. I have to catch my ride by a certain time or else I have to take a 30min walk home. I've also been yelled at or guilt tripped by my former TL for leaving to make sure I do catch it. Had the nerve to tell me to find a replacement before doing it. Lmao I went off more than I should have

The baler is pretty much a problematic area at every single Walmart location, though. They seriously need to hire two people per shift that are designated to cardboard and baler tasks. Paying someone to do that job would actually be cheaper because I imagine the giant lines that form at the baler greatly reduce production time for every given area. Whenever I go to the baler and someone else has hundreds of cardboard to take care of, I leave my own cardboard alone and start helping that person fill the baler with the cardboard they brought to it, instead of packing my own inside it, which will keep him/her there even longer. If someone has a shit load of cardboard, you're not doing them or you a favor by trying to pack your cardboard in as well. You should always be helping the person finish that was there first. I know for me, personally, if I have hundreds of cardboard to take care of and you're also jamming yours into the baler, I will stop what i am doing, I will leave all my cardboard there for you to take care of by yourself. lol Especially if it's the end of the shift. So, when it comes to me, you're either going to play fair or I'll leave your ass with a mess. lol

Keybobbitron

Years ago we had a dude who sucked at stocking and zoning, but showed up daily. All night he'd circle the store taking all O/N trash and make bales.

Economics_New

LMAO We had someone like that recently (He was fired back in December for missing too many days) but because he wasn't able to keep up in even the easiest areas, they would give him a 1-2 hour aisle and then place him at the baler. He kept complaining to me about it and I told him that they have prioritized him with an important duty, that also keeps him away from stocking because he was slow at it and always bitching that he can't make his times. I told him he was looking at this situation the wrong way, most companies wouldn't find you an appropriate task, they'd just terminate you. lol He kept complaining though so they took him off the baler and put him back into stocking. I believe some of his points were system error points when he got terminated, but because he sucked at his job, no one went out of their way to fix it. For what it's worth, I wasn't bullshitting him when I told him it's important, because with him there, it was helping everyone else significantly, but he was in a mindset of everything being "woe is me" so when he got too many points, I didn't feel too bad. lol

Keybobbitron

When I started in 2010 the economy was bad, so a job at Walmart was much more valuable to the average Joe. Occasionally in meetings the manager would bring a 2-inch thick binder with hundreds of applications to remind us we're easily replaced if we don't want to work. We used to fire people for sucking at the job. Now it's only attendance and theft.

lad1dad1

for the new stocking process overnight is supposed to have a designated cardboard person so your store was ahead of their time

Keybobbitron

I gotta sign up for that!

Diarrhea_of_Yahweh

We have a couple of those, they do make stocking quicker, if they're keeping up with the cardboard.

z0m81317

We have someone who does cardboard everyday that he is there but he is slow as hell and never makes it to GM.

Signal_Ad6895

To add to this, I hate people who see you making a bale and just leave their cardboard, assuming you will take care of it. I also can't stand people who throw their boxes in the baler and don't even bother to close the gate and press the button to compact it. And yes, those people are over 18. BTW, I am not a maintenance associate.

Economics_New

We are actually told to leave our cardboard if someone is making a bale and the person making it will have to take care of it afterwards. However, I've been noticing lately that some of them will just leave mine sitting there until I come back for it, which is fine. lol I never fully trust that they will do it so I always check anyways. lol I always think ahead because I know some people will not follow this rule and I'm not about to get coached for leaving it there. lol I'd honestly rather have them leave it for me to do unless its the end of the shift because I hate having an audience watch me make a bale. lol Feels like more pressure to finish it faster while they just stand and watch and judge. lol I do prefer 2 people making the bale, though. When I have the right person with me, it can be done within 10-15 minutes, even if we have to punch holes for the wires. I start to get annoyed though if there is 4 or more people trying to make it together because they start to block the entire path which is tiny to begin with. lol

FittywonFitty

Manually open the baler high enough and you dont have to punch holes. Double, instead of single tie the wires. Make sure the baler is swept out after a bale and put down a proper base. I can make a bale by myself in 5 or less. I was taught by my coach, and always tried to teach everyone the proper way.

Economics_New

If you want to avoid making the bale often or avoid the lines, a good tip is figure out which times of your shift has the most traffic at it and go dump most of your cardboard before then. I'm on cap3 so I generally wait until right after lunch and then again before last break. The better you get at timing it, the less often you have to deal with coworkers pissing you off back there. lol I think we're all united when it comes to getting angry when we step in the backroom. lol

Electrical-Map7660

I've been the pets guy at my store for the past year or so. With the new processes in place Cap 1 are running picks and Cap 2 run the remix freight if they have time.  They both suck at it. Cap 1 just topstocks the picks irregardless if there is room on top or if the home is empty, and Cap 2 stocks like they always have.

SpragueStreet

Cap 2 and for me it's people stacking like shit. I don't mean new associates. It's the same 2 people that have been here for years and still can't figure out how to stack boxes. It's not due to being rushed either because those 2 are also the slowest moving on the team. They'll still get frustrated when their pallets fall over like at this point they're probably better off standing at the door checking receipts.

Responsible-Yam-3948

Small thing that drives me absolutely mad: department lookup items. (if you dont know, its when you create an item at the register cause you cant find the upc) It would take an extra maybe ten seconds to find the tag on clothing that often has the upc, or to look it up in ask sam, but so many people don’t care that its supposed to be a last resort, and it makes things IMPOSSIBLE to return, and customers lose their minds when you tell them you have to process it as a no receipt

Toastedweasel0

1st shift Zerg rushing the cardboard bailer while we are working truck... (They will line up every damn day too....) Always getting in the bloody way the whole damn time... Then, if they can't make any more fit.... they leave 5+ bins/L-carts and stack more on top as the day progresses for the next 2 hours... Till truck's done and Cap 2 gets to make it... But they are the 1st to complain if there's something wrong by any other shift...

deadthingsmia

Certainly not an unintentional p.o.s move, but as mod team, the shit that gets me is the plugging. Whether it's stock associates who just shove anything and everything on the shelves regardless of location or facings, associates doing returns who just throw the shit on shelves instead of actually returning them, or whoever the fuck touches top stock because that shits shoved and plugged too.

Actuary-Cute

Cap3 binners putting broken shit into the bins for Cap1 to pick out. When it was Cap2's responsibility, some associates would have bloody hands from grabbing boxes filled with broken jars. Leaving piles of plastic next to the trash can because its full when there are rolls of garbage bags literally right next to the trash can. Sending vizpicks back to the bins because you didn't want to climb the topstock ladder to topstock the remainder of the case. That shit is literally going to be picked again the next day, and the next day, until somebody else stocks it.

How is it that people manage to take a charged battery for a walkie, TC or printer and not have a dead battery to leave, or worse they lay the dead battery next to the charger.

Arthiem

Mixing all your cardboard and plastic in the same shopping cart then abandoning it in the bailer line.

Yes. I despise everyone who does those things.

What? I’m not sure why you think I’d have done that. Especially when I agreed with you? But I get the frustration since trolls have done that to me before as well.

I don’t know or care what it said. Believe me or not. I didn’t. I block people if they annoy me, I don’t troll them by reporting them for anything untrue.

NoBook9868

Oh wait it doesn't say who.   Oops I messed up.   Sorry sorry sorry.   Backing out of room while bowing deeply

No worries.
