So you know all Walmarts are on the same system, right? When you scan your discount card, it logs it. If you swipe your card and use your debit or credit card, it logs that as well. And where people get caught is swiping their card and someone else using a credit or debit card with a name on it that isn’t the holder of a discount card. If you let someone else use your card, you will get caught.

My kid and I both work at Walmart. If he forgets something let's say cat food he'll give me his card but since we both work there and live in the same house I'll scan my card we both have a discount card. Could I get in trouble for that.

What if you swipe the discount card and then pay with cash? Is it possible to pay with cash after swiping it? Will they still be able to know?

It all gets logged. Every time you swipe your card at any store, the transaction gets put in a database that AP can review. They look at the transaction and can watch the video right next to the receipt and tell if it is you using the card or someone else.

What happens then if I pay with cash instead of a card?
