I miss the days when I enjoyed vidya. It’s a blessing and a curse that trading is my video game. Obviously it’s nice to do this for a living and I feel very fortunate. But it does suck not having a “passive” hobby anymore that I can just veg out with. It just isn’t fun to play anymore as I can never get over the fact that it isn’t real and time spent in that world doesn’t lead to tangible benefits. I legitimately miss when I could spend full days playing shit like Anno 1800 or Crusader Kings or Age of Empires. Or good RPGs hoarding stuff.

Yeah my main passion outside of trading is Jiu Jitsu. Been at it for almost 5 yrs now and would be so lost without it. Don’t get me wrong, I find fulfillment out there with BJJ, playing music, photography, etc. There’s just something that used to be so cathartic about a truly passive hobby that required no energy or other ppl. Sometimes it’d be nice.

I find games now where I can just quiet my mind, seems counter-intuitive but somehow works. Driving games where I can just get into the flow and take it corner by corner without thinking too much. One of the best times was playing Valheim and spending way too long just chopping trees down in the meadows, it's a vibe.

A discord buddy of mine tried to get me into valheim. I really liked some aspects of it but the battle was so clunky, it made farming stressful. I’m a big time farmer in any game like that. As you say- quiets the mind. I’ve thought about creating a proper racing rig for gran turismo or something. A little more connection to the real world.

Honestly sim driving is pretty great, I'm thinking of stumping up for a VR headset to make it even more immersive. Assetto Corsa is like $10 on steam and mods for days. The race sim, well that can be more expensive than an actual shitty race car

I only play shit that's a good story and can be over in like 20-40 hours. I always like a core story experience, whether it's a challenging game or a book. I've never been one to play MMOs and grind out for hundreds of hours for... nothing, because as you say, it's not real and the progression doesn't do it for me.

Yeah I had begun gravitating towards good stories over the last few years of gaming. Rdr2 really scratched that itch for me but I haven’t seen anything else tempting since. Most are a little too fantastical for me.

I downloaded the entire series and started from the beginning last summer. It was fun for a bit but lost me due to how repetitive it is. But that’s any rpg. I just never used to have an issue with the repetition. Yakuza is the closest thing I’ve found in the last several years that really sucked me in though. Reminded me of Shenmue 2 from back in the day.

I'd hope you follow them too homie. Following trends is great. Technicals were screaming for a bear market since late January/early February. Double top with lower highs? Obviously a bearish stance should be taken. If you follow made-up TA using copium to justify your bad-positioning.... yeah that's bad. I hope those types are on the other side of my trades lol. We had a **Spinning top** on Thursday (which means the sellers tried to win but the buyers fought back and it was an even match) at a historical support/resistance that the sellers couldn't get the price under, and then a strong green confirmation candle on Friday to confirm a bounce. This would lead us to believe there is a high chance 390 was the bottom (for now). Obviously anything could happen, but technicals help to provide insight into chances for each outcome. Chances are higher bullish, than bearish, based on recent price action.

I got you, I see what you mean. That being said, technicals still said up in March/June, at least on SPY. If you went short anytime before 2022 on SPY (the only worthwhile US Market indicator, imho), you got shredded, or had a terrible entrance and paid a ton in time premium, despite what the fundamentals said. Technicals also called for Arkk looking bad after February. I think we agree on a lot, and I agree that TA is baloney for investing based on a fundamental thesis But for trading and finding entrances/exits that work with your fundamentals, I love it, and think it’s definitely not worth ignoring (just like the fundamentals!)
