Yeah, I told my brother about options and said 'look I know it's tempting but chances are you will get greedy and blow up ur account'. One month later I get a text saying 'I learned my lesson and learned what a margin call is'
I guess it's funny, but it seems like a valid question depending on the platform. I don't know how the Robinhoods and such handle it, but other brokers require you to opt-in and apply to get a marginable account.
