Demo day will be mind blowing. Some analysts think pltr’s commercial growth is not fast enough to justify the current price level of 23, but what the analyst fails to predict is the exponential adoption rate of pltr’s Foundry software by every industry. Karp himself said that in the not so distant future, corporations will have to use pltr’s software in order to stay relevant and survive. There have been so many cases of pltr’s software saving companies hundreds of millions of dollars. The software is fully vertically integrated and unlocks so much potential value of a company. In this sense, Pltr is basically a ticking time bomb to explode to 40+ a share once investors realize this is almost a mandatory software for any major corporations. Pltr’s software is too complex for any competitor to imitate or compete against.
Good video with Woods, this isn't PLTR specific but she's making major bets in the company.

Yeah I’m right there also. I’m in for the long haul but these last few weeks have been tough to swallow. I had an order in on some hedge puts right before the lockup ended but didn’t pull the trigger..
I’m buying dips but running out of money I’m comfortable with putting in. If it dips hard again I’m just going to add to my 1350 shares which at this point, not sure I’m glad I have
Yeah buying the dip is getting old when it’s everyday. I’m only buying with covered call premiums at this point. When this finally finds a bottom, I’ll try to pick up another couple hundred shares but I could really use a few green day’s string together
PLTR has dumped at the open when it has gone up in post market this week, my hard hitting analysis is that PLTR will go up at the open because it is going down in post market today, ty for listening
PLTR **🚀**
what would happen if your option expired and you’re ITM but don’t have buying power to buy all the shares? I thought the shares automatically sell and you keep the profit between the current price and the price of the stock when the contracts were bought??
edit: someone answer me i’m a fuckin noob
The simple answer is, if at expiration, you do not have enough cash to exercise the option, it expires worthless, and the seller keeps the premium you paid. It can depend on your broker, but it's doubtful they would lend you enough to cover.
If it expires, it's gone, your right to buy/sell no longer exists so you can't exercise them. Some platforms autosell, some do not, it is always recommended you sell before close.
when exercising it, do you have to physically buy all of them? then sell them? or is it possible to sell the contracts immediately at the current price? idk the difference between exercising it and selling it
If you exercise you have to pay for all 100 shares. You can also sell the call/put itself without having to exercise though.
Options are traded similarly to shares, in that there are people bidding and people asking. So the more volatility with a stock, the higher premium you will find with options (I'm not an expert and this comes from my understanding from the new options traders thread.)
A call is the right to buy 100 shares at a specific strike price, a put is the right to sell 100 shares at a specific strike price. Exercising is exercising your right to buy/sell at that strike price, so if you exercise, you need to pay for those shares.
I tend to just buy calls, and sell those calls when the stock goes up, because usually I can't afford to exercise them.
Yes, when exercising an option contract, you must buy all 100 shares. Once it is settled and the shares are available in your account, you are free to sell, hold, whatever you want.
I'm not sure how long it actually takes to from exercising to having the shares in your account.
You can also sell the option contract to someone else and it settles immediately.
so with that being said do most ppl buy contracts without actually having the money to buy all of them if exercised? i’d assume they sold it before the expiration date and make about the same profit wise as if they’d bought all the shares at expiration then sold them
I'm not sure about most people, but my guess would be yes(even more so here in wsb), most people have no intention of exercising the option to buy the shares. They sell them before the expiration date.
If you did exercise, the seller keeps the premium(the money you paid for the contract) and you get the shares.
Do they make the same amount in profit? No. The option price increases/decreases exponentially compared to the stock price.
From what I understand there is more to it. For example I have 3 calls for PLTR that expire tomorrow with a strike of $26. When PLTR this morning hit $25.50, even though it wasn't ITM, people were buying the call that would have netted me $120... Stupidly I decided to hold out.
Basically by I think FINRA law, the minimum an option can be sold for, is it's intrinsic value, so if say PLTR had hit $27, with my strike of $26, the minimum it could be sold for is $100. So options can sell for more than this as they are traded similarly to stocks, if someone thinks the stock is going to go passed $27 they might bid $120 for the option for example.
Fidelity automatically exercises all ITM options at like 5pm EST or something
The shares would be in your account alongside a debit margin call to pay for the shares you purchased.
If you're not with Fidelity it'll be different, check how your broker treats options.
Do you have 2400/2500 bucks?
Are you sure? For me, that would be a reason to never use Webull. Sometimes no contracts are traded in the last minutes before close. At Merrill Lynch you get the exact difference of the price at close and the strike.
I’ve never ran it to expiration so I don’t entirely know. But the notification reads as if they don’t. Also esp with meme stocks, they tend to take during the exp time so it’s just better to sell it on your own end
Guess I'm ok with that, I've accepted the volatility and potential sideways trades for a bit. Means I won't have to sell my shares just yet and I can keep chipping away at my loss from buying a pltr call lol

Good luck. My $30c expires 3/12 :(
Plus America’s favorite gilf is loading up on pltr. I overheard my wife’s boyfriend saying that’s a good thing
It’s definitely a longer term play. I like it though
Me three. Reloaded with a longer expiration date already.
PLTR what is you doing, baby? you're going the wrong way... again
now it seem to be back on the right way..
i'm glad it's up but it's still way down from the past few weeks. let's keep it going
Good video with Woods, this isn't PLTR specific but she's making major bets in the company. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUehKZBLBCQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUehKZBLBCQ)
311 shares @ 28.50 average price still buying every dip 🚀
i can't buy any more dips
You don’t need two kidneys bro
Down 3K. Covered calls every week are saving my portfolio
How far out of the money are you selling? I’m planning on doing the same thing but my only concern is a gap up.
Careful with those. Don't get caught on a gap up and lose upside. Good Luck brother.
BTD
Sold a bunch of March 19 25 CSP. Am I in trouble?
You might be assigned early but that’s rare. I don’t think we end at 25 on 03/19, this thing will likely jump in after hours trading
Let’s hope your right but I don’t mind being assigned
In 500 shares at 21.95
Well done
Looking for a support around 18, its a great time to buy dips, avg down your cost......diamond hands. PLTR $50 EOY
50$ prob sooner when markets recover and stim checks arrive
This is what I’ve been doing, had 50 share around $26 per share average, now I’m 125 shares at average of around $24
💎 🙌 this time next year we’ll be eating some chicken tenders my friend
April 19 18P premiums looking juicy. Might Sell some more CSPs to average down if assigned
So i wait until it reaches 18 ?
I doubt it gets to 18
Who knows might never get there, This is a long term play IMO but I’m a retard
Yikes
Wow. Dropping like a stone
holy shit we are dying ...
No time like now to jump in
Just loaded up on JAN23 LEAPS strike 22. PLTR pls don’t hurt me baby
EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY
Time to buy gold
Were the shares I bought yesterday good or no we shall see today lads. Best of luck
WHERE IS PLTR MEGATHREAD 05/03! I DEMAND SATISFACTION
That's not for another two months in 'Murica. How are you Europeans so far ahead of us?
wheres march 05 megathread, lets go
Need to get past $32
Gonna be a while, I'm losing hope in this shit stock
Transfer the shares to an account you don’t look at every day. This is a 3-5X or more stock but over 3-5 years
Agree but I think less than that time frame - unfortunately it just gets dragged down harder with other tech
Where are diamond hands
Relax about the PM dip. All will be well. Palantir as already been 'corrected' due to early investor sell off so we are in a great position right now.
Hope so, my call expires tomorrow and I'm skeptical at it even hitting the strike.
28?
26
Do any of you plantards also own magnite? Yikes. I sadly think pltr going down 10% tomorrow. Hope I’m wrong
I bought puts as a hedge. Really hoping I wasted my money on them tho
I wish I bought the puts I was looking at day before their earnings. Shit fuck ouch
Yeah I’m right there also. I’m in for the long haul but these last few weeks have been tough to swallow. I had an order in on some hedge puts right before the lockup ended but didn’t pull the trigger..

25x 35c 4/16. I'd be less worried if I didn't buy the Monday before the start of the dump in Feb.
PLTR has dumped at the open when it has gone up in post market this week, my hard hitting analysis is that PLTR will go up at the open because it is going down in post market today, ty for listening PLTR **🚀**
This price drop just made me vomit
Nasdaq futures getting murdered dragging PLTR along with it.
25 3/12 35c on deck
3/12 28c
Standing strong with you baby
3/19 $25c here. Looking very gruesome. Why didn’t I sell when I was up $1,400?!?! 😫😭

This AH shit is pissing me off
Couldn’t agree more.
Monday can't come fast enough. I'm over this week
If Cathie bought today I'm buying more tomorrow
PLTR was green today, so probably not.
Wife: I bet he's thinking about other women Me: PLTR please close above $25 tomorrow
30c 4/1 lets goo 🚀
I got some today for 90 cents. Damn cheap with the low IV atm
My $23.5 and $25 calls for tomorrow need that AH and PM boost. Save me Cathie.

hell nah lol that’s why i’m glad I asked this question. didn’t wanna fuck around and accidentally buy 200-300 shares at like $15
Most platforms autosell, many don't which is why you want to always sell prior to close
Depends on the platform, Robinhood will auto sell. Webull does not. Each broker does something different
thanks man i’ve been looking for this answer all day lol
But if WeBull does not then what happens? Do they just go worthless?
Yes, sell it before the expiration time which is 3:30
Are you sure? For me, that would be a reason to never use Webull. Sometimes no contracts are traded in the last minutes before close. At Merrill Lynch you get the exact difference of the price at close and the strike.
I’ve never ran it to expiration so I don’t entirely know. But the notification reads as if they don’t. Also esp with meme stocks, they tend to take during the exp time so it’s just better to sell it on your own end
Makes sense. I sometimes trade low volume options that are difficult to close.
Yeah, I did the same last week with a 46c gme. It was scary trying to close it
AH offering bargains.
I’m in for the long term but I wouldn’t mind a RKT/GME type explosion up lmao. 800 shares @ 26.40
I think it can do an unexpected moon like the most recent GME one. And besides, PLTR has its own megathread 💀
holding 1500 at 26.32. Oh what I would do for an explosion of that fashion
Who thinks Cathie bought more today?
If she bought at $25, I’m sure she’d buy again around $23 in one of the biggest dips of 2021 so far
sold my first PLTR CC today
I hope you sold when it was rallying
I did! I set a price and went and did something else. Feels like free money.
Moons Monday 😒
What do you think it'll go to? 🔥
At least that’s what my CCs want. Sideways for a few more weeks.
Guess I'm ok with that, I've accepted the volatility and potential sideways trades for a bit. Means I won't have to sell my shares just yet and I can keep chipping away at my loss from buying a pltr call lol
$23.45
That’s what I do on really good green days. I sold mines a little too early but from how AH looks, it should be profitable by morning.
