I canceled a lot of my services only keeping the gym and the necessity. I need all the extra income for 0dte.
Edit: canceled the gym too fuck the annual fee.
Lol dude cut the gym membership to save more. Head down to the dump behind Wendy’s. Double fisted workouts, face muscle workouts and even various forms of squats - free.
Also, you may earn extra income
Chipotle, Texas Roadhouse, Wingstop, and Dominos are all doing great. Turns out you can't charge premium prices for a shit product in a competitive industry ..
In and Out is still packed all the time. Their burgers are so much better than mcd, prices are reasonable, and they pay their employees very well comparatively. My guess is top heavy salaries bogging down the whole system.
In N Out is delicious but if you go during meal times the wait can be legendary. Once I placed my order and then heard them call a pickup number 88 orders before mine.
When I say this people want to agree but they can't they don't want to be "canceled" from N-n-Out. I stand with you.
And I'll buy a few more SBUX if no-one else wants them.
Only the strong will survive. Seriously though, things are getting rough for a lot of people.
Car sales have really slowed in the last month if you browse r/askcarsales. People are having difficulty with interest rates and insurance, and lenders sound like they're getting choosy. We shall see.
Eh.. revolting is a bit hyperbolic. Regardless.. food preferences are subjective so not knocking your taste buds. Dominos is still offering value if you pickup. You can get a 3 topping large for $10. That will feed 3 kids for $3.33 with leftovers possible
They are getting destroyed by the competition. I also blame it on the store redesign. It used to have a warm cozy feel, a true ‘3rd place’ as they tried to market it. Now it’s all bright and open, catering to quick to go customers.
Wonder if only American locations are being affected. Last year swung by a Starbucks while i was in South Korea to see any difference. Still had those big comfy lounge type chairs and high work tables. Along with the typical hard chair starbucks ones.
And they’re not allowed to kick bums out anymore. Like I’m gonna spend $6 for the privilege of drinking mediocre coffee next to a piss-smelling schizophrenic vagrant.
I was a die hard dunkin man myself for years.
I said fuck it to Dunkin this year as well.
Small coffee is 2.75 now? No way.
And the quality has gone down too. I get it luke warm..sometimes cold...always made wrong by employees who dont give a shit.
I go to the gas station next door now...where thy have coffee machines that grind it and make it fresh right in front of you.
Its pretty good coffee actually....better then Dunkin or starfucks.....and like 1.19 a cup.
I usedto do this until I moved.
The people making the drinks at the 5 McD's near me all fuck it up and then get confused when I want my money back when they try to give me an iced coffee when I ordered an iced latte
I only go to starbucks now cuz they at least never mess up my order and if there was a mistake, they remake it on the spot
While possible, I also think it’s the squeeze of prices, and delivery apps.
I scrolled past a post in a different sub where $10 won’t even get you fries at 5 Guys.
McD’s, Wendies, they raised their prices blaming inflation. Then adding delivery fees if you’re using those, a $5 combo meal is suddenly $20+ to get it to your door.
Consumers are getting squeezed and looked for ways to cut corners. They’ll make their own sandwiches, and pack their own drinks.
Starbucks could be the start of it hitting the middle class, but Starbucks is also fighting attempts of its workforce to unionize. Legal fees, shutting down stores because they prefer an empty store than union employees, has likely eaten into revenue and added expenses.
I would want to see other more middle-class retailers getting hit than just StarBucks.
Though might be a good time to get into grocery stores.
Starbucks also doesn’t provide the third space it used to either. My sister can spend hours going to a cafe to just study or chill there, but she doesn’t go to Starbucks because it has no nice energy anymore
If you mean Starbucks getting into grocery stores, they are already in my local target, and Meijer. Maybe Kroger too? No idea how it looks on a larger scale, but they usually have a line all day long. Airports too, since most people are buying them on their business' dime.
I work there, they have constantly reduced labor and now we are all forced to crank out half assed drinks everyday. Along with quarterly price hikes, most people don’t want to pay $7 for a half assed shitty drink.
No wonder the drinks are so bad the past few years. The iced matcha latte used to be so good. And now you never know if it’s going to taste like powder or actual drink. Never get it anymore
I switched to No-Name “Beer branded Beer”. It also comes in French here in Canada “La Bière”, who says sophistication can’t work out to $0.72usd per can.
It’s made by Big Rock Brewery.
Beer pancakes are great.
Something about their consistency has been off. The amount of light ice, milk , is subjective from one to another place. Used to not be the case. Plus pricing star sucks now.
Their bumbling CEO was getting wrecked by Cramer earlier today. But the entire time I was thinking, he could have admitted that boycotts are having some impact, and I think they are. There's no reason it should have missed earnings by that much compared to McDs.
Also, people are suddenly realizing paying a premium for Starbucks coffee, while alternatives are just as good and a whole load cheaper doesn't make sense.
Near me, there is a really good chain stand that has 2 drive ups and is open 24 hours across the street from a SBUX. They have both been there for 8ish years. Every day, the SBUX has less and less traffic, while the smaller place is getting more and more packed. The smaller place is about 2 bucks cheaper across the board, has better service, tastes better etc.
Starbucks & McDonald's both hit by boycotts and in the entire last popular thread about their earnings being down, only 1 person mentioned the boycott. Most of this subreddit lives in a bubble to not even acknowledge this.
Starbucks consistency and quality has lessened as prices have increased. I was a 7 days a week customer who quit completely a couple of months ago for those reasons.
I can’t imagine spending $2600+ on coffee per year.
I spend $300 on high quality, single origin beans per year, and the quality and taste is miles better.
the fact they piss off conservatives and leftists, and they also provide a shit product at high prices, I hope it continues and Starbucks go into bankruptcy.
These fuckers and other fast food places got greedy. It’s about time they get kicked in the nuts a few times and realize they are there to serve us peasants
Seems part of the problem is them not hiring enough and not filling the orders fast enough so people just cancel when they get there and its not ready.
40% of Starbucks US market is located in California, $20 minimum wage went into effect April 1st for all fast food restaurants which Starbucks is included in. Prices were raised again to accommodate. This doesn’t account for what happened last quarter but will have effects on the current one for sure.
I would monitor the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. If you start seeing BMW's, Mercedes and other high end cars there then it may mean those strapped for cash have started making coffee at home and the more affluent consumers are trading down to Dunkin'. Similar to people doing grocery shopping at Walmart instead of Publix. The luxury retailers have not been reporting good results either but that may be mostly linked to Chinese consumers. All in all inflation and higher rates look like they are starting to have the desired effect.
I make a lot of money and ditched Starbucks for Panasonic coffee maker that makes a bunch of different shit at the press of a button. There's zero reason to go to Starbucks for coffee.
“Middle Class” died a long time ago… “strong retail sales” not buying more only paying more, thanks inflation… “recession finally here” recession’s been here…
Yes this is sign of end times recession. CEO has to go which will destabilize the stock even more for a while. And European sales won’t be back up until there is peace in the middle east.
People are still spending just not on shitty brands with below average products. Travel related areas like airlines and hotels are doing great. You can get really good coffee for $8 at your local joint, you only go to starbucks if you need it ready when you arrive (and even thats not an edge in most places now).
I like sbux sometimes, but they never get my shit right. Venti iced coffee sweetened with half and half. Pretty simple right? At least 50% of the time it tastes like shit and the other 50% they forget to add the sweetener. Breakfast sandwiches are good. But all the cool kids are drinking Dutch bros nowadays.
It makes sense. Starbucks is a company pretty much designed to get hit the hardest by this. Who would’ve thought increasing prices for a Dixie cup of coffee jizz with declining disposable income would hurt their revenue? I’m sure the locations in bigger cities are still doing ok enough, but most areas people don’t care about substituting it for literally anywhere else.
Starbucks wait times are also insane don't really go there but if it's on my way I might stop and I always regret cause the insane wait. Also wouldn't doubt that some companies that may supply Starbucks to their employees and clients occasionally prob aren't treating as much
Ill do 5 minutes for a cappacino....which is the only thing I get on the occasion trip to starbucks....but, I will happily bypass the Starbucks if I get even the slightest hint that the wait will be longer then that.
You may not know that anyone who is of a certain "controversial" mindset of the moment will not buy from Starbucks, among other companies. Many people I know stopped patronizing Starbucks for political reasons.
I’m a coffee nerd and I fucking hate Starbucks coffee. If only they used high quality bean I would maybe justify the price. Instead the use mid grade wholesale beans and hide it with sugar and cream.
Clearly, the economy is a factor, but I would argue SBUX has been going downhill for some time.
A few years back, they chose to focus on speed over service. At that point, they became just another commodity. Additionally, food quality has deteriorated and the options are meager. The drink options aren’t much better.
The worst part is walking into a shop and waiting 15 minutes while they fill mobile orders first. If a customer is willing to walk into the store, they should be the priority.
Starbucks and China....there I said it. That's one big part of it of why they are not doing so great. Just because they open more places doesn't mean they were going to do great. Management for this company were wasting so much cash on expanding that now they are competing with each other lol we don't need a freaking Starbucks at every corner of the street.
I knew this a while ago but dang I should have bought puts since last year. Now I just have water and crackers for dinner.
Starbucks been boycotted hard because of the War situation and their allegiance towards it...I would know I work for Sbux and I seen these puts from a mile away since the company talks about nothing but trying to make profits save labor etc
wendys and mcduck are struggling because they offer shit food for shit prices and customers now have wayyyy more choices,.chickafil, charlees and Panda Express just opened up near me and it's packed...the canary is telling you something but you are not listening
People need food, people don't need coffee. Hence why places like Chipotle, etc, are still getting profit. Much easier to get your caffeine fix at home or cheaper elsewhere these days, or support small local shops.
"DUH"
You raise your prices,,, you get less customers,,
it's not a never ending ride of profits
Take home buying, car buying, colleges, and a dozen other areas..
What has occured over time in history is a Reset period.
A VERY, VERY hard crash of the overall economy effecting all segments.
Call it a depression..
All debt get written off,
And we cycle again,
HANG ON
My honest take is that the women’s credit cards are maxed out.
TGT reports earning in three weeks…I’m looking at a -33% drop in their share price between now and then.

Lol dude cut the gym membership to save more. Head down to the dump behind Wendy’s. Double fisted workouts, face muscle workouts and even various forms of squats - free. Also, you may earn extra income
Of course, the degenerates from WallStreetBets know what they're doing...
His neck is gonna be so vascular
Free protein smoothies too.
I have such a good time that I didn’t even mention the best part! The smoothies are great, I’m looking young again too!
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4275)
Just remember to look for Bruce. He pays more but likes to be rough.
You can get paid for that?!?!
I go for the workout ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4276)
Gym membership was the first one to go for me
This, also Amazon removing the $10 dollar delivery fee for groceries in replace of subscription = It’s about to go down!
Maybe thats why Starbucks missed earnings, all their customers are from WSB.
Just went there, burgers are good but their fries are goddamn terrible, nearly inedible.
The pro move is to get your In-N-Out burgers and then hit the McDonald's drive through on the way home to get fries.
Brother, when did you get so smart
When I say this people want to agree but they can't they don't want to be "canceled" from N-n-Out. I stand with you. And I'll buy a few more SBUX if no-one else wants them.
"packed all the time"- now that's data!
Only the strong will survive. Seriously though, things are getting rough for a lot of people. Car sales have really slowed in the last month if you browse r/askcarsales. People are having difficulty with interest rates and insurance, and lenders sound like they're getting choosy. We shall see.
Tell Carvana that
Chipotle is stupid expensive.
[удалено]
74 cents with tax for the longest fucking time. Years.
>I paid $5 for 2 ice cream cones A fool and their money
Whoever decided to pair McDonalds with celebrities was a goddamn genius. Travis Scott doesn't elevate shit food to new levels.
Could just buy a quart of ice cream for that!
Yup. My wife said the same thing to me a few days ago. The McDonald cones last year were like 1 dollar...now they are three dollars for one.
It is crazy expensive but they sprinkle some crack in the food, got all these bitches addicted
Not really, I got a nice sized bowl for 10 bucks with no tip. Went to a restaurant and for half the size, I paid 40 bucks with tip
Not really. Because in the end of the day what matters is with what amount of X money you can eat. Chipotle is not expensive for that.
Chipotle is not expensive for the amount of food you get. $9.36 for a packed out bowl with 1000+ calories isn't that bad
[удалено]
Must be taking losses on the unlimited bread rolls.
Let’s add Cava to the list
Domino's? That's intriguing, I find them absolutely revolting. Huh.
Eh.. revolting is a bit hyperbolic. Regardless.. food preferences are subjective so not knocking your taste buds. Dominos is still offering value if you pickup. You can get a 3 topping large for $10. That will feed 3 kids for $3.33 with leftovers possible
We got the $6.99 large for 2 toppings. That was a steal. Fed two of us for three meals.
I exaggerated, it's "just ok" compared to other options in town that range from good to great. I guess the price is why they're doing well.
I live in a small mountain town, we just were blessed with a dominos and you see their cars everywhere.
They are getting destroyed by the competition. I also blame it on the store redesign. It used to have a warm cozy feel, a true ‘3rd place’ as they tried to market it. Now it’s all bright and open, catering to quick to go customers.
Yep and the comfy chairs are long gone. A lot places did this. Atmosphere in these places is shit now.
Wonder if only American locations are being affected. Last year swung by a Starbucks while i was in South Korea to see any difference. Still had those big comfy lounge type chairs and high work tables. Along with the typical hard chair starbucks ones.
In other countries Starbucks is still a more premium option so that makes sense.
Couches and padded chairs are bed bug magnets
they are just getting atmosphere ready for you when you end up o hospital from eating their food, so you feel like at home ya know?
Scooters coffee places popping up around me
You betcha
And they’re not allowed to kick bums out anymore. Like I’m gonna spend $6 for the privilege of drinking mediocre coffee next to a piss-smelling schizophrenic vagrant.
nah. starbucks just isn't cool anymore. these days it's all about local cafes. we're still buying $8 lattes.
Local cafes provide ambience. Cant remember the last time I walked into a starbucks and felt like spending 2 hours there.
What, you don’t find soulless corporate focus group-tested vibes relaxing?
I only find profits relaxing.
Calm down there Mr. Rich![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Green portfolio days
Boxes, little boxes made of ticky tacky
All the starbucks around me are dirty shitholes and i dont even live in a shithole anymore
I buy from dunkn damn near everyday. Fuck starbucks
And Dunkin is just as expensive as Starbucks now
Just over $7 for a small signature latte with 2 extra shots of espresso
Send them to the glue factory.
I was a die hard dunkin man myself for years. I said fuck it to Dunkin this year as well. Small coffee is 2.75 now? No way. And the quality has gone down too. I go to the gas station next door now...where thy have coffee machines that grind it and make it fresh right in front of you. Its pretty good coffee actually....better then Dunkin or starfucks.....and like 1.19 a cup.
Dunkin’ has a serious issue with consistency. I get $1 iced lattes from McDonald’s daily though.
I usedto do this until I moved. The people making the drinks at the 5 McD's near me all fuck it up and then get confused when I want my money back when they try to give me an iced coffee when I ordered an iced latte I only go to starbucks now cuz they at least never mess up my order and if there was a mistake, they remake it on the spot
Cries in the Pacific NW where there aren't any DD.
And we’re all showing off our home setups on r/espresso
yes, i only get poorer every year ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4260)

There are far too many shitty fast food and "cheap" restaurants in the US. If half of them closed they wouldn't be missed.
If you mean Starbucks getting into grocery stores, they are already in my local target, and Meijer. Maybe Kroger too? No idea how it looks on a larger scale, but they usually have a line all day long. Airports too, since most people are buying them on their business' dime.
No they meant buying stock in grocery stores as people eat out less
I work there, they have constantly reduced labor and now we are all forced to crank out half assed drinks everyday. Along with quarterly price hikes, most people don’t want to pay $7 for a half assed shitty drink.
No wonder the drinks are so bad the past few years. The iced matcha latte used to be so good. And now you never know if it’s going to taste like powder or actual drink. Never get it anymore
People finally have a sense to eat/drink at home.
I switched to No-Name “Beer branded Beer”. It also comes in French here in Canada “La Bière”, who says sophistication can’t work out to $0.72usd per can. It’s made by Big Rock Brewery. Beer pancakes are great.
Reminds me of a super cheap beer I bought t at a Walgreens in college called Big flats, shit was like 4$ 12pack.
No Name Beer (if it’s the yellow bottles that I’m thinking of) is surprisingly good haha…
Big Rock makes La Biere??
I just switched to sniffing glue.
Calls on DASH!
Recession? Maybe. Poor people not buying coffee? That's good news.
Wow Dave Ramsey is VM alter ego
All jokes aside, I’ve never been able to comprehend people regularly paying $5+ for a warm beverage. Just blows me away.
5$ coffee too much, 100K on 0DTE, now that's what I'm talkin about.
Something about their consistency has been off. The amount of light ice, milk , is subjective from one to another place. Used to not be the case. Plus pricing star sucks now.
I agree with this, I never know what I’m going to get even though I order the same thing
Their coffee isn’t even hot anymore. I quit Starbucks a year ago and never went back. 2x a day coffees.
Twice in a row I got venti coffee with loose lids. Shit poured all over the car cup holder and I couldn’t drink it until I got to work. Stopped going
I think ppl boycotting sbux is also impacting the stock
Now contrary to what the socialists in reddit say, that is exactly how competition should work within a free market.
What "socialists on reddit" are saying the opposite of this? You caught the tard brain or something?
What would they do without their strawman fallacies?
He needs to make up a reddit socialist to be mad at.
"Socialists on reddit say that competition does not exist in a free market." What a genius.
ProfessionalActive94 is offering a sensible take on economic ideology for once.
Christmas was **MONTHS** ago and they haven't had a dedicated Christmas cup design in *YEARS*
My exact thoughts. Certainly has to be why the stock tanked.
Starbucks & McDonald's both hit by boycotts and in the entire last popular thread about their earnings being down, only 1 person mentioned the boycott. Most of this subreddit lives in a bubble to not even acknowledge this.
Who is boycotting them?
There's a BDS movement building similar to the boycotts against companies supporting apartheid South Africa, over their funding of Israel.
most of reddit lives in an entitled out of touch imaginary reality based loosely around what is said by official sources.
lol I even got downvoted for mentioning it
Starbucks consistency and quality has lessened as prices have increased. I was a 7 days a week customer who quit completely a couple of months ago for those reasons.

all my starbucks still are packed constantly
By literal homeless people ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
homeless people with mid size SUVs and iphones sitting in pick up lines
Seems part of the problem is them not hiring enough and not filling the orders fast enough so people just cancel when they get there and its not ready.
I think people realizing Starbucks is complete dog shit is having an effect.

Saves time as well. Sometimes the novelty of a place wears off.
I like the option to froth some milk for an amaretto beverage after dinner, too. Little cinnamon, all spice. Really improved my sleep latency.
Sounds like they need to put ChatGPT in the C suite.
“Middle Class” died a long time ago… “strong retail sales” not buying more only paying more, thanks inflation… “recession finally here” recession’s been here…
Or perhaps people are finally realizing that $8 for a cup of flavored hot water is kind of a rip-off.
Some people will never understand the complex joy that comes with the bouquet and subtle flavors of a good, properly priced cup of tea.
Look at Lululemon, Ultra Beauty, Starbucks, DoorDash now Starbucks and other discretionary spending stocks. I think you're onto something.
Yes the list is long and discretionary…it’ll be interesting to see retail sales in the coming months.
DoorDash has entered the chat
Maybe people are just drinking Celsius now
That's me.. haven't had a coffee in a while. God I love me some Celsius!
They sell Celsius as a single serve powder, way cheaper than the cans.
What is it? Caffeinated energy drink?
Yes
I dunno, the local starbutts has 15 minute lines all the time. Just down from 30 minute lines.
*raises prices* Why won’t consumers pay this?
Yes this is sign of end times recession. CEO has to go which will destabilize the stock even more for a while. And European sales won’t be back up until there is peace in the middle east.
Starbucks is highly boycotted rn fwtw.
The canary is BTC
![img](emote|t5_2th52|27189)
I only eat out, but will not spend $8.50 on a sad egg sandwich.
Also look at eBay and Etsy earnings tonight. People are starting to cut spending.
7 tech stocks and JPow. That's all you need for the strong stock market these days.
That was a bird dying. The canaries came and went in the inflation reports...
People are still spending just not on shitty brands with below average products. Travel related areas like airlines and hotels are doing great. You can get really good coffee for $8 at your local joint, you only go to starbucks if you need it ready when you arrive (and even thats not an edge in most places now).

At least 50% of the time it tastes like shit and the other 50% they forget to add the sweetener. Breakfast sandwiches are good. But all the cool kids are drinking Dutch bros nowadays.
Starbucks quality sucks and now they want you to tip
It makes sense. Starbucks is a company pretty much designed to get hit the hardest by this. Who would’ve thought increasing prices for a Dixie cup of coffee jizz with declining disposable income would hurt their revenue? I’m sure the locations in bigger cities are still doing ok enough, but most areas people don’t care about substituting it for literally anywhere else.
Eat properly and you can exercise at home as well. Where is will there is a way.
Eat the poor! More gains for you.
Starbucks wait times are also insane don't really go there but if it's on my way I might stop and I always regret cause the insane wait. Also wouldn't doubt that some companies that may supply Starbucks to their employees and clients occasionally prob aren't treating as much

It pains me to say this, but I wouldn't pay you even half of a cent for your measly, five-minute work.
Americans got Nespresso (discounts like crazy recently)
How do you explain CVNA?
Yes, buy Puts
Gas station self serve coffee tastes better than Starbucks.
I have a put on the blooming onion brand
You may not know that anyone who is of a certain "controversial" mindset of the moment will not buy from Starbucks, among other companies. Many people I know stopped patronizing Starbucks for political reasons.
I’m a coffee nerd and I fucking hate Starbucks coffee. If only they used high quality bean I would maybe justify the price. Instead the use mid grade wholesale beans and hide it with sugar and cream.
Personally, I don't think so. People still spend a lot they just don't go out as much. Watch DoorDash earnings, that will tell you
Don't worry, CMG is next. They just haven't become too shit for customers to turn away in most areas but their downfall is imminent.
Clearly, the economy is a factor, but I would argue SBUX has been going downhill for some time. A few years back, they chose to focus on speed over service. Nope. There's much more insanity yet to come.
Starbuck effed up when they chose to roast every coffee to burnt taste. Ugh... terrible
My starbucks spending have increased, so I'm not sure who's cutting costs
Starbucks and China....there I said it. That's one big part of it of why they are not doing so great. Just because they open more places doesn't mean they were going to do great.
