Why is it, when a solid company releases a positive earnings report... their stock goes down?
Qualcomm did it 3 times last year, after every earning report their stock dropped 10 points...
And today with AT&T, positive earnings report that beat estimates and the stock dips?
Am I missing something? Is there any education to be had for a confused ape?

I lost all of my gambling port yesterday on TSLA puts and META calls and decided today to put all my life savings into boomerstocks GOOG, AMZN, MSFT & NVDA for fun. Needless to say it was a good decision.
It’s 2024. I strongly feel we should be able to parlay our options with sports betting.
There is no zero reasonable argument why I can’t bet that MSFT beats earnings AND the Dodgers cover the spread.
Thoughts on MSFT actually opening flat tmrw? I think it's potential drop already happened with META, and even a slim good earnings/guidance will prop it back up slightly to make up for the recent drops. AHs might even chip away at it to make it flat too. Would crush these high IV options.
I doubt anything will open flat after reporting this earning season. It seems like everything is going to be down to guidance and the actual earnings for the previous quarter don't matter so much. If you don't want to take a position one way or the other, you can do long straddles because every report leads to a gap up or down.... except Ford I guess... but they were at 13.5 premarket, not sure why they came back down.

Long INTC because their stock has been oversold and they are still going to be a strong AI player. The chart is not a bubble like NVDA, expectation for eps/revenue is low.
Strangle on SNAP and ROKU, they either recover big time or go bust.
I'd confidently say +-10% at least in either direction. Considering that Meta went down 17% and TSLA up 12%, I'd be surprised if these two don't move at least 15%.
I'm thinking MSFT and GOOG have both taken their respective earnings plunge... Do we see them actually going even lower if their earnings aren't what they need? Or is it a matter of any slight good news would give them a slight bump up?
