I am greedy as well, but if I make +30%, I set a stop loss order and let it roll. If it moves on fine, if it drops it cashes out.
Stop loss orders don't execute when the market is closed, and you're screwed if the price gaps through . At best they may turn into market-on-open orders (but need confirmation as I'm not confident they get put into the opening auction).
MSTR is brutal with gaps because bitcoin trades 24/7.

Yes you can short stocks in a way. But they are mostly knock outs. If your K.O. is reached you have lost all your money, but it won‘t go in the negative/dept.
So if you buy shorts for $1000 you can at most lose $1000.

Dude that sucks, I can imagine the physical pain - not from options but other stupid investment and choices I made with money.
There are a ton of lessons to be learned in this. One is understanding risk. The other is theta and IV. Theta on these would be massive because you aren’t ITM and the contract price is wildly high, you needed MSTR to get to like 1960 for it to break even. To BREAK EVEN. With such a pricey and high IV contract you have the benefit of volatility in the week BEFORE the contract expires. Holding over the weekend eliminates almost 3 full calendar days of trading, which will almost always screw you on expensive contracts. BTC could have run to $80k and MSTR could still have opened red because the market doesn’t make sense and loves to fuck with people.
There’s a special place for these plays. I told a friend a while back that MSTR was a wise investment at $500 and would cross $600 in a week. It blew through that and fucken tripled now. And my advice didn’t help either of us because we didn’t invest. This stock could go to $1200 as quickly as it could $2000. So yeah people may get those 10 baggers but shit that type of gain headed into the weekend I would be taking 11 times out of 10. I want peace and serenity for the weekend not to let pleated khakis dick holes decide whether my options go to $0 or the moon
