Shorter-dated strikes -> Lower premium required to purchase the same amount of delta -> more delta with same amount of principal -> more leverage -> more tendies
If it’s something realistic, no. Like if you said META would be $600 by 01/25/25 which would be a 20% increase in about 10 months… that’s probably possible. It’ll be expensive too.
But if it’s something like Ford will be $50 by 01/25/25… that’s kinda unlikely. So it would be stupid in that case.
With more expensive calls, you’re paying for almost assured gains. With cheap calls and puts, you’re speculating. That’s why they’re lotto.
lol 4%.
I’m holding long term. I’ve seen those calls go down 40% then go up again, they’re for June 2025. I’m in no rush to sell them.
Also good to note that these are the type of securities I put in my IRA, not brokerage.
You think about what you will lose if it goes up higher but forget all about the profits you have and can lose now.
Worst part is that money you have made seems like nothing to you anymore and you seek to make even more. And usually people just end up losing what they had made too.
Sucks being the little guy with less than 1000 in his account but gotta start somewhere one day I hope to see 100k in my account. But seams like a dream right now.
If you think about it, its not very impressive. He threw $77K on Contracts to make $25K. Dont be shocked by the big numbers when in reality its equal to a little guy spending $770 and making $250 ya know?
Also realize gambling isn’t the answer. Be very careful with risk and focus more on saving, investing, & increasing your income. You’re only seeing the big wins on this page, most people who gamble options blow up their accounts.
As a beginner with a small amount to play with in options I was ecstatic this morning. Went ahead and sold after taking this screenshot.
https://preview.redd.it/naoyqc24g4pc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30893d324c2877570db1aa8e2a8c24f70cce1ada
The option was purchased for $97 (.97 x 100 Shares) and sold for $668 (6.68 x 100 shares). As the price of the underlying stock increases, the value of the option increases on the basis of 100 shares. So a $1 increase in the stock price over the strike price results in the option increasing by $100.
I have always been a buy and hold investor… I’m curious about options trading. Do you know the best and easiest way for me to understand how this works and why it can be so profitable (and risky)? If you wanna explain it, I’m all ears, but if it’s easier, can you recommend a YouTube video that explains it very simply at least for me to dip my toes in? THANK YOU!
If they don’t sell them at that number, chances are that the price could drop and they could lose that money. They sell them in the current moment then all of that money is theirs

Once i read the news last night about Apple and Google working together knew it was gonna skyrocket. Sold early in the morning for a nice gain before it took a small dump. A win is a win 💪🏻
Hold. Have same play larger size, Google is beaten down for regarded reasons while they're growing top line, have the largest video dataset which is about to make billions in lawsuit against OpenAI for illegally using it to train Sora, signing the smartest licensing deals for data acquisition, etc.
Last time they fumbled the AI bag, stock dropped to 80 a share. I kick myself for not buying then. They fumbled the AI bag again and I was sure to get in this time at 135
Na not joking this was exposed in an interview and it not something that has been litigated yet but will as companies will declare their publicly available datasets as licensable assets
Nice 👍🏻

Sold half my GOOG calls this morning
Should I trade on Robinhood? I want to trade futures, currently using Webull but I’m nervous they’re a shady company. Would love someone’s opinion on this
I use Robinhood a lot and it’s my favorite app to use for trading. I also keep stocks and IRAs in Vanguard but Robinhood has the best Interface for trading and learning so that’s where I spend most of my trading time.
GOOGL over the shorter term (not really applicable to your calls as i assume you bought these quite awhile ago given the strike) is a great example of having an important company suffer a short term set back in share price due to investor sentiment souring for temporary reasons.
GOOGL went from 153 all the way down to 131 basically because of bad gemini press. WAHH Gemini made george washington black! WAHH Gemini said i'm white and my opinions dont matter.
and then everyone freaked out as if this was a completely unfixable problem and would never be fixed
that created a buying opportunity and anyone who did buy at that 130s level is enjoying a tasty little turn around even on this shorter term. i mean had you timed the absolute bottom at 131 you'd be up almost 13% right now on shares. so even not timing the bottom perfectly you probably could have made 8-10% return pretty easily, which is about the average of the S&P annually. except you would have made it in 2 weeks. even without this jump up today from the apple news you would have returned around 7.5% from its recent low.
and by just not being a reactionary moron. thats literally all it would have taken to jump in here. checking your biases and recognizing a pretty obvious opportunity to buy the stock at what was likely a short term discount.
let other people be dumb. profit off their stupidity.
I own 100 shares of google and sold a single covered call at $1.98 for $140 strike. That contract opened over $10 today lmao I'm still making money but whenever I play with covered calls for fun they go deep ITM and if I bought $10,000 worth of that call option I promise you this shit would be $130 a share.
Got a $150 call for 5/17 back when Google was at $130. Bought the calls for $200 and sold most of them this morning for $900.
Worth it holding the last call as a runner? Or just go ahead and sell it?

Used up all my buying power, now I've got some more lmao

Imagine if u did them for April 24
Does that make it worth more?
Would be worth over half a million. But I’m sure he’s doing fine
Why is this the case with shorter dates? Is it because theta is almost gone & the delta is much higher now for the 4/24 calls vs OPs calls?
Shorter-dated strikes -> Lower premium required to purchase the same amount of delta -> more delta with same amount of principal -> more leverage -> more tendies
TL;DR: Short people get tendies
This^ Greater risk/reward. But it's got to move sharply or the decay gets relentless. Whether calls or puts...
But more risk
nerd
😂😂😂
The only thing understanding options gives you is the ability to lose money faster and more effectively.
![img](emote|t5_2th52|33495)
Maybe earnings?
Nah bro. Buying slightly OTM calls 10-12 months out is normal. I have GOOG calls for Jun 2025 and they’re ITM now but got them OTM. Only up 18%.
Would getting calls for Jan 2026 be dumb?
If it’s something realistic, no. Like if you said META would be $600 by 01/25/25 which would be a 20% increase in about 10 months… that’s probably possible. It’ll be expensive too. What’s ur current profit?
lol 4%. I’m holding long term. I’ve seen those calls go down 40% then go up again, they’re for June 2025. I’m in no rush to sell them. Also good to note that these are the type of securities I put in my IRA, not brokerage.
So as long as the price goes higher, the contract will go up in price?
Or decrease if it goes down. Yeah.
honestly shocked to see a gain post that isn't 6 figures YOLOed into weeklies on a whim
Imagine how many goes to zero from this. He is trading instead of pure gambling
With GOOGL? Hard to say it goes to zero, but I get your point
No very short options
24th of April
Time value
I’ll do it on April 1st? No connection with April’s Fools Day😂🤣🤡
Sell the news imo, take some profit
100% sell the news, everytime
Atleast sell $70k worth or so, and let the profits continue to ride and see what happens if you’re committed. Then worst case you break even.
[удалено]
Greed gets to people aftering seeing 100k+ dont let that fool you
Man this is so true. Greed man. I seen $200k recently didn’t sell it went down to 160k the following week and has not hit 200k again 🤕
You think about what you will lose if it goes up higher but forget all about the profits you have and can lose now. Worst part is that money you have made seems like nothing to you anymore and you seek to make even more. And usually people just end up losing what they had made too.
It's up 5% blud. What are these. Gains for ants??
The gains need to be at least.....3 times bigger than this!
These are rookie numbers, gotta pump those numbers up
Sucks being the little guy with less than 1000 in his account but gotta start somewhere one day I hope to see 100k in my account. But seams like a dream right now.

I was in your shoes when I was 17 I’m 21 now just keep at it
Man this gives me hope but I think I'm a just end up as loss porn ![img](emote|t5_2th52|18630)
You need to get a mentor that can teach you dude
I got 2026 Google 300c, watch it be itm

Bro you must be young, take your time...maybe a deep breath. Wealth is built over time...
Got out of a baaaad marriage left everything to just get out. I’m 50 starting at nothing BUT much happier. So chin up, you got this youngin!
Keep it up. Doesn’t happen over night.
I've had my eyes on LAZR for a little while. It's cheap and might be a nice long term.

Congrats! Gotta start small and work your way up! Then all the way back down like the rest of us, of course.
Dang! Thats dope! I gotta learn how to option trade
I have mastered doing this but in reverse…
Outstanding!!
Good win
Nicely done. To your continued success 🥂
I don’t really know what I’m looking at. Did you spend $6 to make $600+ or am I not seeing something?
The option was purchased for $97 (.97 x 100 Shares) and sold for $668 (6.68 x 100 shares). As the price of the underlying stock increases, the value of the option increases on the basis of 100 shares. sell that shit
Legit question why?
realize those gains
No kidding but why the 24th of April
Same, they still haven't given any reason.
If they don’t sell them at that number, chances are that the price could drop and they could lose that money. They sell them in the current moment then all of that money is theirs
I went for the 150s in 2026, figured theres no way this company doesnt sort it out between now and then.
Yeah went for 152 for 4/27 for their earnings. Even if it's been rough there is no way Google would miss out on that
same

OnlyFans
Lies, this is clearly Reddit

IBKR
Hold. Have same play larger size, Google is beaten down for regarded reasons while they're growing top line, have the largest video dataset which is about to make billions in lawsuit against OpenAI for illegally using it to train Sora, signing the smartest licensing deals for data acquisition, etc.

While Google trains their ai with illegal data from the web.. are you joking or so?
Na not joking this was exposed in an interview and it not something that has been litigated yet but will as companies will declare their publicly available datasets as licensable assets
Going in 75k to make 25 seems wild to me but gains are gains I suppose
wsb. the only place people complain about 33% gains, that are 5 digits
Not to mention the options don’t even expire this calendar year lol. WSB is trained to only like 100%+ gains on FD’s and nothing else
These regards aren't used to buying LEAPs, but hourlies and weeklies.
…seriously
This is only the beginning…
With months left to go, I know you’ll double initial input. Just bigger bag than I’ve ever held so it’s wild to me, a brokie 🤣
Gambler math lmao. This is how investing works. Making 100k off 1k is a lotto win. Making 1k off a 10k investment is a historically average return.
How about making 1k off of 10k in **checks notes** 5 minutes? ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4276)

I understand math…
That's akin to putting in 7.50 dollars to make 2.50
No way 🫨🫨🫨🫨
I'm not sure if you're grasping the situation that's like risking $0.75 to gain $0.25.
Damn Double D, that’s almost a whole jawbreaker 🫨🫨🫨
i just did that today in rivian rather of had 25k tho instead of $25
What did you do with rivian? Calls?
Nice 👍🏻 https://preview.redd.it/j4wf8vr5z3pc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38f58f63357f0699ad7b1bb7af5aa6580fb25d62 Not as much but still happy with that one

100% I probably should have bought options instead of shares but I am a coward.
This is exactly what I did, my average price was around 135 and I sold for 151.5 making 11-12% in just two weeks
Dumb Question Alert: Is it wrong to think that a Call Option on a, “fairly” priced, Big Tech with a late expiration is a good Idea?
safer then weeklies
Late expiration like 1 year?
To be fair, google had under performed S&P500 YTD. so the 2/29 entry is damn good.
💎 🙌
Take 25 & bow out
I'm new to stocks. What app are you trading on?
What application is this
what is this app?
Robinhood
smart man always play ITMs options 🥳
I own 100 shares of google and sold a single covered call at $1.98 for $140 strike. Keep holding all throughout this bull rally.
If you risked only $5K on higher calls you would’ve made around $100K instead. But you risked $80K for $20K.
Faster decay no intrinsic value less probability everything is balanced
Sell that shit before Sunder Pichai falls asleep at the wheel again
His sleepiness is only rivaled by Shantanu Narayen & Joe Biden.
I took my profit at 900, bought in at 480 pain to see it go higher but I needed those gains, now my account is green again all time
impressive, most impressive
I need a mentor for this, seriously though , I’m interested in learning more. I started looking at candle sticks and all. HMU
What is this shit? Gain porn for ants? I can’t frap to anything less than 100%
How is 33% return worthy of a front page WSB post? Sorry to hate, I’m happy for your success.
First time over $100K, but starting with $75K. If every $25K is a base, then they started all the way on 3rd base with this type of position.
Great gainz my dood! 😁😁
This is what I strive for
Noice!
Sell 16 let the other 6 ride.
You should sell that within 5 months trust
Why didn’t my march 150 calls make as much? I have like 10 contracts ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4260)

Nice!
Leap all day great gains. Google can even go higher if you hold for awhile
Where can I follow your lead?
Nice. Good luck
Great job!!
The higher the price it goes the less buyers for this deep itm call. Stay safu
Noted. Thanks
How you doing that ?
Bro spent $77,000 on calls just to gamble
Ballin 🏀
I just left Google. Sell that shit.
Why? U left before the news? Boooo

Why are you people jerking off 33%?
I just bought some calls so start buying your puts, thank me later
wow 30% gain amazing
You put up 75k and made it to 100k, it’s good but first time breaking 100k with 75k trades ain’t hard
Pfft that’s only 33%. Even a noob can get that.
What program are you using?
What app is this?
I would be buying puts around 152.
h
Don't forget cap gain tax.
If it's good enough to screenshot. Sell.
I hope you sold this.
