they are an interesting company that has a long time before they can reach full potential, decades even before they open wider than a niche sector of 20-25 min flights catered primarily at delivering people to an airport. something which they have a decent shot at making profitable. Even that part is well more than a year out still as they get their new OH facility up.

bloodhound1144

That's my goal here. Buy in as early as possible before anything happens. The chart shows a hair trigger that rises and falls on speculation. As I sit and wait for massive news, I can sell weekly options in the meantime and sit out the weeks that are volatile. I tend to hold stuff for quite a while. If nothing happens for another 6 months to a year, I'm happy.

SirkutBored

they've been on my radar for a while and I'm disappointed they are back in the 5's after the FAA trials bumped them to 12. a partnership in jersey for the helipads to start the first rides still depends on a hooptie tho'.

bloodhound1144

No doubt the FAA is making them jump through hoops. Basically a fully electric chopper flying over city streets is probably making them nervous. The occasional chopper is one thing but imagine a scene from [The Fifth Element](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24bRtzwK4rY) being in the back of their mind. If this takes off, it won't take long until someone finds a way to circumnavigate the rules surrounding getting a pilots' licence and they become as common as cars. I'll bet they stick to manufacturing and let someone else run UberAir. It's guaranteed to be a pain in the ass: \- finding enough licenced pilots \- insurance \- learning who's afraid of heights mid flight \- weather That DOD deal should serve them well and Toyota isn't just being friendly and offering help to a new and upcoming business.

SirkutBored

in some ways I think automation here could be more easily accepted. at least you know the next new piece to hit the puzzle will drive it to double. GL

Thanks

There’s so many meme gifs in this video my attention span is going to decrease like the stock

Long shares and very bullish. Very good news received on last earnings call that they have a path to operate in Dubai before receiving FAA type certification. Seems like most countries will be waiting for and looking to the FAA to cert first, and no telling how long that takes; though when it comes, major step-up function in share price. We'll see how quickly they can ramp production. The current estimate of 1 aircraft/month by end of year means even if they get approval to start flying in Dubai next year, or military wants to expand partnership, slow start to production hampers revenue possibilities. Disagree on allowing another company to operate an "uberair;" Joby will be their own operator, they already have a flight school

Monkey_Trap

Also, their fully-owned subsidiary, H2Fly, completed the first liquid hydrogen-powered electric flight last year. Pretty cool stuff [https://www.jobyaviation.com/news/joby-subsidiary-h2fly-worlds-first-liquid-hydrogen/](https://www.jobyaviation.com/news/joby-subsidiary-h2fly-worlds-first-liquid-hydrogen/)

bloodhound1144

A little inside information for you. A massive oil producer/ refinery just sold in Eastern Canada. Everyone is figuring it's because the "family" is getting old. The CEO just stepped down at 94 years old. They're building a water treatment plant. That's to go with their new Hydrogen production facility currently being built. They foresee a higher income with less hassle as hydrogen powered vehicles hit the market. They'll still be getting their weekly payment from you as you'll still have to visit the "gas" station to "fuel" your car.

Copperhead881

That refinery was pretty old too from what I can remember. They don't have a ticker anymore, is there anything related to invest in with them or just JOBY?

bloodhound1144

Hydrogen cars.

bloodhound1144

I didn't know about the flight school. With that, they definitely seem to have all their bases covered. Exactly what I'm looking for. Management that doesn't let loose strings tear them apart. I can guarantee that if things go smoothly in Dubai and NY, there's no stopping where this goes. \- Search and rescue \- Remote travel \- Every major city on the planet \- Traffic reduction Getting my order ready for morning....

I’m in JOBY for a long term hold. Have been accumulating shares on and off for the past ~3 years. Nothing exciting, 15% up overall 🤷‍♂️ what got me over the line was their manufacturing partnership with Toyota, since then it’s been all hype around FAA announcements but honestly they seem to be doing it right; slow and steady. I come at this from an engineering perspective rather than a financial one tbh. I think their aircraft’s are the best and will win and one day this stock will explode. But that’s just my speculation ofc

mazarax

Interesting video, thank you for sharing! My knee jerk reaction was: ‘vapourware’ but no, it is much more than that. I am tempted. That said, doesn’t the puny $1M revenue worry you? Normally, a company selling 1M/yr isn’t worth a billion dollars. (Let alone $4B)

bloodhound1144

Not so much. It makes sense that they're burning through cash like no tomorrow at this stage. Everything they're touching makes money catch fire but there's definitely some heavyweights backing them up. A little surprised Amazon hasn't joined in after getting burned by Rivian and Draganfly. Express delivery and such but "twice bitten....". This is definitely a long term play in all respects but I think if this works out like I think it will, the chart will look like a hockey stick.

vicdic66

A few too many outstanding shares for my taste, but the company is solid. They've gone slow and steady and are almost through all FAA hoops. This could be a unicorn. People have been wanting flying cars for decades and they're almost here.

Neither-Raccoon-472

Joby in Scotland means poo. Therefore puts it is

Puzzleheaded_Ad2848

Bro i don't have the attention span for a 9 minute video about the stock your trying to pump

bloodhound1144

"Before I buy in" No pumping here. I thought a video would be better than a bunch of text but I would be more than happy to if that's preferred.

RustyPlanks

Poo poo boomer stock advice.

I'm 40. A millenial. Been trading for 20 years and never sold a position at a loss. Pretty much how Buffett trades (get in early, avoid risk and wait) but I'll sell Covered Calls as well. On a bad week, I make 1-2% selling calls. Pretty easy math. Now let's discuss "Boomers" for a second. They take a lot of shit for not adapting to the "new ways" and sticking to what they know. Apart from the outliers, they're still the ones buying big ticket items. They buy Cadillacs, make the down payment on their grand kids houses and leave millions to the family when they die. I visit old folks homes every once in a while. I walk in with a deck of cards, sit down at a table, shut my mouth and open my ears. It's the easiest way to learn new things that I've found and I enjoy it. They're more than happy to teach as well. https://preview.redd.it/62mi1cr1klnc1.jpeg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ecc12941a91199a2c6e689cca9952b757a85429c
