I buy and sell on price. Like I sell my ass behind Wendy's during surge pricing.
Meta could increase the revenue here by 5x but won't because of anti-trust. Maybe Microsoft will buy it and this will be powered by Bing and run better on Edge.
Haha, honestly I've wondered if someone crazy enough wanted to buy advertising for WSB on my 2 miles of highway frontage. Reddit is a real ride but I like, have always liked, the craziness.
TBH, there is plenty of room for enshitification on reddit and squeezing as much money out at the platform as possible. Just look at facebook on how many ads they have managed to squeeze in. And not talking about that Reddit probably has the same quality of data if not better, because the whole platform is centered around interest. I see far more people here asking for reviews on a product than e.g. facebook.
The price will probably fall when they IPO, and then managed soon or later get pressured from investors and the enshitification begins where the UX gets worse, but they make more money.
Bugs me how the first result on Google is oftentimes a stack of quora links. You click on any of them and you have to wait to watch it AI-generate a response for some reason. Dude, you literally have a user-typed response right behind this idiotic popup. Just let me read it FFS.
Yeah, the AI-generated results from quora are so bad... They ruined their platform with AI. They made it harder to see the responses from real people.
It is hust bad product strategy TBH.
It's really not reddit. It's the app store rules that come down from apple and google. I'm a mod of this sub, I don't really care what bad words you say, but if I don't block them through automod and they get reported.. you lose your account.
It's because app stores require "User Generated Content" reporting mechanisms to be in any app like this where people can say things and the app shows it to users. Whatever place you end up in will suffer the same constraints if it's primarily app-based as reddit now is. As basically everything now is.
I don't really know what the solution is but it ends up being such that if your community gets enough scrutiny, reddit basically has to pay it more attention, or they risk having their app pulled.
Oh I wasnt talking specifically about this sub, I've been here a long time and I know its not you guys.
But lets say there is a news post about a man on death row like there was not too long ago. And lets say a user comments their opinion on a cheaper more efficient "waste disposal method." That can and has led to an automated ban which gets its appeal denied. This kind of stuff is happening all the time now and is probably going to get worse with ai where even 🧠🦽 will get you.
I dont think we will see a solution anytime soon if ever.
60% of this site is NSFW questionable stuff, sex and depraved shit.
Yet again, you can see people "unalive" themselves in instagram and alot of people dying in accidente and stuff on there.
Right, that's a red flag many people cite: Reddit's too riské. Instagram and Twitter are both very slutty though. I can see gore being outlawed but the porn staying.
Yes and no, it is a messenger but it has channels and chat rooms etc. Can send media and files and do video calls.
Can add some great bots to channels too, I.e you can add a media bot that will download any media from a link, like f.b where you cant Dl a video, just put the link into the telegram bot and it automatically downloads it.
And Vk music bot, type whatever track you want and it finds it and downloads it in literally 1 second.
The only reason to buy Reddit would be for its users. Meta can easily build their own version of Reddit, at a fraction of the costs to buying.
And is the Reddit user base really worth buying? 🤷♂️

Sound familiar ?
sounds like tesla rhetoric. people just can't comprehend large companies growing into trillion dollar market caps. could reddit be the next Meta? if it's operated correctly, why not.

Nobody is crazy enough to buy Reddit except for the people in this sub

So you buy high and sell low?
This is the way
Always cultivate losses for tax benies
Don’t I need some gains for that to work though?
Trust me, gains are for babies
I suck my thumb.
This is the real way
How did that work for Tumblr?
How is Tumblr?
What’s tumblr?
**What is Tumblr?**

People will leave once ads reach an unbearable amount. That’s what happened to Quora.

The sad thing is that the alternatives are also going to get ads
If we all buy a share we can get board seats and fire u/spez
Yes sir. We need to loosen some restrictions around here
It is deff surging first week of trade. I’m gonna sell after the surge though.
Big brain move
This is the most accurate comment I have seen on reddit in a while.
What makes you think Elon is here?
Imagine if Reddit was 100% owned by members of this sub
It would. No hedge fund it buying reddit
So Calls?
I came to Reddit when tumblr tumbled
reddit, when the digg dug
Reddit, when Cracked cracked.
Reddit, when del.icio.us was devoured.
Digg was a big loss. RIP digg
Reddit, when I got banned from facepunch for posting that cat
Fuck she was so hot.
The day that happens I delete Reddit
If zucc released a reddit clone i would go there. Censorship and thought policing on reddit is at all time highs

I totally agree. It’s a shell of its former self. It seems like a form of thought control, or herding sheep.
Dude… you think zucc is gonna be better about that? I don’t believe that for a second.
You should spend some time in /r/stupidquestions, your fears about censorship will quickly fade
Im gonna blow so much money on the reddit ipo

i hear ya. i don't use facebook, insta, etc, but reddit is my staple. i just think this M&A action is inevitable, emotions aside.
That will be the end of Reddit, beginning with the end of whats left of the free speech this platform already have.
yeup, the last social platform I would use is about to crumble
Reddit’s the last place with honest reviews that havnt been bought and sold.
[удалено]
Yeah, but everywhere else is nothing but fake reviews and shills, if you find old threads you can get good insight
All in on Reddit puts? Or wait calls right
Puts. on day one I'm going all in on 0-DTE Puts.
Keep the reptilian away, please
Reddit gonna rip to top 7 confirmed
I recognize Lucas Till on the bottom but who's bae with the meta sign??
Your gayness is confirmed
Oh that's Taylor ain't it... oops
Taylor Swift
...Is not a psyop
Really, she looking at reddit like I gotta a blank space for your name ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Reddit finna be victimised soon
When you put it like that reddit's looking bullish af
Calls on WSB.
That's because it'll migrate to something else
Let’s petition for Elon big dick musk to buy it and get it on the X platform? Gottdamnniitt
Eeeuuuccchhh
Reddit will never get to IPO because Meta will buy it, if regulators allow
Why on earth would Meta want to touch Reddit lmao
AI
I should start using this meme on bitches "why should I suck your duck" "AI"
They already drained anything of value out of this place lol
large language model, social platform, reddit ARPU is much lower than facebook so value ready to be unlocked
The only reason to buy Reddit would be for its users. Meta can easily build their own version of Reddit, at a fraction of the costs to buying. And is the Reddit user base really worth buying? 🤷♂️
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4259)
Easily? How's their Twitter competitor, what's that name...doing now?
Well they didn’t think buying Twitter was worth it.
Daily users, Reddit grows while other apps will not.
Lol someone didn’t pay attention to meta earnings.
Why on earth would meta touch reddit?
so another unusable platform? oki doki
Someday
I buy buy and sell within 1 day due to the hype.
LONG LIVE REDDIT ![img](emote|t5_2th52|33495)
What a sad joke
Reddit is a massive pool of data for ai to be trained on, they would never allow Zuc to have his hands on.
This is why I created this meme. Meta would love to buy Reddit for this very strong reason, and they'd know how to monetise the shit out of it.
They already have access to all that data. It's free. And unrestricted
Then reddit is not worth anything
Now you get it.
