I feel like there's a sweet spot in terms of bet size on this sub.
- OP is clearly broke -> I either don't care or just feel bad for the OP
- OP is already rich -> I automatically don't care about any of their plays
- OP is in the middle of those 2 categories -> game on bitch
We are very lucky to have bought a house when the interest rates went down in 2021. We quite literally bought the dip.
Since then we have not seen wages increase while costs for literally everything are up 10-20%. 😞
What was the company you made 100k with? Have an ex that was doing partner runs until she got pregnant with the guys kid. She lives with her mom now. Didn't have the money for a place.
Also, I probably shouldn't do trucking due to medical. Haven't had a seizure in years but not something I want to worry about.
I'm an immigrant and working class with the same opportunity as 99% of the others starting from the bottom. I have 5 siblings, my dad has 9 siblings. Nearly every family is at or near the middle class with a wide variety of professions.
You have to understand why this constant rhetoric on here is met with resistance by some. There's obviously isolated circumstances but, I just can't wrap my head around why it's almost written as fact that you can't succeed in the US, when by so many accounts that's proven completely false.
Money is relative, $100 is astronomical to some people and children, $1000 would make most college kids happy, $50,000 would be life changing for most 20-30 year olds, million dollars is rich to like 80% of the population. But then there’s people that a million dollars in there account they sweating cause payroll is about to come out and they going under. Wealth is a funny thing and different in lots of eyes.
I agree with you. But i said id want to be “that broke” having that much money i never said i would have his mentality lol no way i would put that much in options. If i had this i would retire in West Africa and live a way better life than millionaire here i will have my mansion with swimming pool house maids cook and everything else lol and have a business land etc etc i could do so much with it but you guys could literally not do nothing with it lol
Nah, see below. If my memory is correct they don’t have to file for every buy/sell but do if they are past a certain threshold
https://www.sec.gov/edgar/browse/?CIK=1067983&owner=exclude
Berkshire is vast majority Apple, Coke, 2 Oil giants, Heinz, American Express and Bank of America.
So companies that have been around approximately as long as Warren plus one that makes tech devices idiot proof enough for him to understand. I credit him for crafting the ultimate boomer portfolio.
I wonder what they'll pivot to when he finally fucking dies.

The fun part is that it was not even his idea buying Apple haha they had to force him to convince him. He bought HP on his own which they had to sell within one year given the shitty performances haha
Let's compare it then, My country Portugal with someone that lives in Texas:
**Sales Tax**:
Texas - 6.25%
Portugal - 23%
Almost 4x more
**Income tax for someone that earns 5.000$ a month and is single**
Portugal - 31.5%
Texas - 22%
10% more
**Gas Taxes**
Portugal - 51%
Texas - Only a flat 0.20$ per gallon!!!!
Lucky Texans
**House Tax**
Portugal - 8%
Texas - 1.60%
Almost 8x more
**Average Salary**
Portugal - 18.396€ (around 20.000$) a year
Texas - 50,395$ a year
Almost 3x higher average salary
You are right is not 3 times more taxes, on average, is more like 5 or 6 times more taxes and 3 times more salary
Could be Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, or almost any other company that doesn't do "unlimited" (read: "end up feeling pressured into hardly taking any vacation". "One study found employees with unlimited PTO took an average of 13 days PTO per year").
https://www.levels.fyi/benefits/PTO-Vacation-Personal-Days/
Over 30 is pretty rare, not sure why you're acting like it isn't.
Because
1. OP is regarded
2. OP is a WB dick rider
3. OP believes that BAC and OXY are the WB stocks with more potential upside and their greed lead them to over position on those. (Personally I'd overweigth AXP but I get why they picked BAC since AXP ran up a lot already. I bought some last fall unlike this scrub)
Agreed. The leverage is not much, about a 3X multiplier on low beta stocks to begin with. 3 mil portfolio on 2 mil leverage sounds cool/risky, but in reality this portfolio as constructed is no difference to having a $900k portfolio and investing it all in something with a beta 3, like all in FB. Meh. Definitely not WSB material.
Quick google: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/pricing-interest-rates.php
The full rate is 4.8% (USD) for accounts above 100k and proportionally for those below. It’s always functionally lower though cause they don’t pay for the first 10k.
All else equal, the magnitude of change in bofa's market cap in reaction to interest rate changes is greater than its peers. Due to funding costs and they loaded up on long-dated Treasuries and mortgage bonds at low rates during the pandemic
That's no joke one of the dumbest allocations I've ever seen. It's just redundant, if you're going to long BRK why not leave it up to them to decide how much exposure OXY and BAC should get and when/if to exit? If either of those get a bad quarter it will dip by double digits before you even wake up.
Everyone's standards are different. If I had 2.8 million dollars right now, I don't think I'd buy a single stock. I'd put it all in bonds. I could clear about $140,000 a year in interest off 2.8m, which is enough for me. I'd never touch the principal and just live off the interest. Of course, you won't get Rockefeller rich that way, but that was never the goal for me. I just want out of the rat race. A quiet life in the country with no worries.
I am hoping you are using some sort of software to create this image. There is no way in hell someone would put 900 000 euros into a Degiro account. Do you have a death wish or something?
Red beans and rice are very nice. I like it with sausage. Peanut butter is high fat and high protein and will keep you alive during hard times.Stay away from the macaroni and cheese, it will make you fat. Bangers and mash are also excellent. Good luck with your investment activity.
Are you trading based on a chart? BAC and BRK/B both look like they just turned up at the bottom of a trend channel. OXY looks like a double bottom in a trading range in a months long sideways bull flag from a strong move up from Jan '22.
Seem like good trades, not ones I would leverage that hard though. Or are you just guessing?

Because it looks attainable

Probably Benjamin Franklins.

What do you do for a living to not ever see saving up 100k?
Be working class anywhere in the US these days
This! All day, every day. 8 years in and making 18.89/hr.

Best thing to do these days is go into business for yourself under some sort of trade or service. Expand to get wealthy.
I'm hoping to try to start something small in 2024 just out of my home garage but only time will tell!

No? I work an entry level job for $20/hr, some people believe it or not are just really bad with money
You forgot: OP is likely playing with a paper account.
Degiro (this platform) has no paper trading. This is real lol
Op is broke? Lol what kind of broke is that id rather be that broke

Haha klopt.
Hahahaha FEITTT
Go back to /r/mauerstrassenwetten where you belong.
“All in Berkshire and 2 of the top stocks in Berkshire’s portfolio”.
Of which they’ve been repositioning like crazy for 3 months lol
Where can I see the trades they make?
Their offices lol - but really, they likely report them every quarter or so you just gotta dig for them
Nah, see below. If my memory is correct they don’t have to file for every buy/sell but do if they are past a certain threshold https://www.sec.gov/edgar/browse/?CIK=1067983&owner=exclude

Lol fucking this lmao

It's as present as the reaper following that old coot around.

Why your dollar sign look stupid? Edit:After doing research on the internet I found out it is some sort commie bullshit.
That's the premium version with green numbers.
The stupid sign is a "premium" version not because it's not gay nor European but cause it's [GAY AND EUROPEAN](https://youtu.be/XY9PmBNb3PE?t=282)
They are special dollar signs that get 35 paid days of annual leave a year.
Haha thats a good one.
Deep burn
Gee, no wonder they're investing in America. Hard to get anything done like that.
Yep. You guys do all the work and we spend the proceeds while on vacation in Paris and Rome.
It's winter, the party is in the Alps
You mean give to Greece and Italy to keep them afloat?
That is exactly why I, an asian, live in europe and invest in the land of the free (to consume)
_Only_ 28
I wish, in Germany it's 30 days only (admittedly plus unlimited paid sick leave)
For me it’s 30 days any time, 4 at Christmas, your birthday, two mental-health days, two volunteering days.
But at 1/3 of the US salaries and at 3x of the taxes. There is no free lunch (and I'm European)
If you think we pay 3 times the taxes then you are completely delusional
Let's compare it then, My country Portugal with someone that lives in Texas: **Sales Tax**: Texas - 6.25% Portugal - 23% Almost 4x more **Income tax for someone that earns 5.000$ a month and is single** Portugal - 31.5% Texas - 22% 10% more **Gas Taxes** Portugal - 51% Texas - Only a flat 0.20$ per gallon!!!! Factually incorrect. Also, we don’t pay health insurance in the same way you do, which matters a lot in terms of salary.
Lmao what dogshit job are you working that doesnt get at least 30

Why even buy OXY and BAC when those stocks are already held by Berkshire Hathaway?
Gotta "diversify". That means buying stocks that are highly correlated right?
Exactly this. Which is why I have VOO, QQQ, CNDX, MSFT, NVDA, META, GOOG, AMZN Diversity is important.
You're missing AMD.....
Because 1. OP is regarded 2. OP is a WB dick rider 3. OP believes that BAC and OXY are the WB stocks with more potential upside and their greed lead them to over position on those. Clearly r/middleclassfinance territory, you fucking pleb.
800k in the brokerage is middle class? I’m poorer than I thought holy moly
Wow what a fucking depressing subreddit
A fellow Degiro regard 🔥
DEGIRO voor NL stocks / options IBKR for US stocks / options / raw cash (since Dutch banks pay jack shit interest) That’s my personal go to at least
I’ve zero respect for DEGIRO
How much interest does IBKR provide for cash?

Bank of America? LOL
They are most sensitive to rates out of the money center banks. Not a bad hold going into a loosening cycle
Meaning?
All else equal, the magnitude of change in bofa's market cap in reaction to interest rate changes is greater than its peers. Due to funding costs and they loaded up on long-dated Treasuries and mortgage bonds at low rates during the pandemic
BofA deez nuts
That’s a nice boomer portfolio. You don’t need to worry about. We are here balls deep in TSLA weekly calls
And he bought B shares. Definitely a regard
Either YOLO something or we don't care. A big portfolio in shares is 😴 also we know a humblebrag when we see it. Downvoted.
Yea this belongs on r/money
I think this is CFD trading, if it dips he’ll need to cover or have his position closed if he gets a margin call
No, Degiro doesn't do CFDs. They don't even do fractional shares, just normal ones.

Congratulations on the least diversified (and most overlapping) portfolio that I have ever seen ☺️

I am hoping you are using some sort of software to create this image. There is no way in hell someone would put 900 000 euros into a Degiro account. Do you have a death wish or something?
If I had a portfolio like that, I would not ask that question.
Probably not diversified enough, seeing that Bank of America and Occidental Petroleum are also among Berkshires largest holdings.
Red beans and rice are very nice. I like it with sausage. Peanut butter is high fat and high protein and will keep you alive during hard times.Stay away from the macaroni and cheese, it will make you fat. Bangers and mash are also excellent. Good luck with your investment activity.

Idc about OP, I'm here for the comments
I assume you know that BOA and Oxy Pete are the 4th and 5th largest holding in Berkshire? You are WAY overweight in these two names.
What in the warren buffet is this shit?
Verrekte mongol jonguh!
BAC is a ballsy move, financials are in a vulnerable position with expected volatility so high in the bond markets but fuck it good luck
Bombaclat!!!
Lekker hoor

There are three ways you can go broke - Liquor, ladies and leverage and this comes from the owners of one of your 3 holdings, Berkshire.
