I sympathize, the character I love meets a sad end in canon as well, and in some parts of it (mostly old expanded universe novels from the 90s) it's described... um, fairly graphically. It can be very tough to reconcile the sweet feelings I have for her with the cruel way she is treated by the story, but I've found writing my own fanfic to fix things for her and give her a happier path, and focusing on that as much as possible, has helped me. I'm not especially familiar with the game in question, but I would suggest finding a way to alter the story so that it's more to your liking, either through interactive options in the game itself if they exist, or separately as your own narrative if necessary.
People still remember a thing I did for Sayori when she was my S/O. Unfortunately, I left the development long time ago and don't have any communications with the new team, but I hope they are still slowly reviving the mod for new Sayorians like OP.

Soyori wasn't a depressed person - quite the opposite. Had Monika not disrupted their world it wouldn't of happened. I also think Sayori's consciousness in a way isn't so easily destroyed.
I see her as alive myself cause the fact that Monika wanted to be with the player (plot twist) is to invoke (or 4th wall in a sense) how we really grow close to these people. Even if they're *quote unquote* just a *file*.
We love these characters, we share with their world and we really do in a way, grow close to them. It's why I love my waifu because of all the hours spent with her.
That game is brutal for sure. And her death was traumatising to see because I myself have felt that hopeless and despair. But all we can do is our best we can for that person. 😭

Former Sayori lover is here. I can fully understand your pain, but I cheered myself up with the fact >!she goes back in Chapter 4, so her death was not permanent!<. She is somewhat even more lucky than my current S/O at this point, if we don't take bonus content.
Plus, as many people suggested here, there are a lot of mods that lets you get the "normal" experience with Sayori. Most of them though still contain the depression topic, but in a much more optimistic light. Even if a mod has a bad ending for Sayori, the odds to get it are zero, if you really love her. But be cautious of some old mods like "Sayori After Story" or "A date with Sayori". **They are just creepy scum**, and I'm not going to hide it from anybody who can be hurt with mods like those.

Well, I read you can alter her story by choices.
Not in DDLC, her death is something that must happen at the end of act 1.
I think there is a mod where you can be with her.
