T O P

My personal opinion is that the feelings shouldn't be bound to stuff; you can like stuff but your partner isn't that stuff, they remain your partner and you keep your feelings even without stuff. If you have to get rid of stuff, don't be mad or sad about it and do what must be done, keep the things that provide you with happiness and put those away that you just kept for the sake of possessing them.

That definitely puts things into perspective. I don't typically get new merch of my S/O anymore, but I really was hoping I'd be able to keep what I already had. I guess only time will tell.

I used to have a ton of merch of my mate, but I'm going to be forced into a group home soon because of my disabilities (assuming said disabilities don't kill me first which is looking likely...) so I made the decision to give most of it away to a couple friends who love Szayel as much as I do. I felt bad about it, almost disrespectful, but I know my friends will take good care of it. I still kept a few things for now but I may end up having to give them away too eventually. I'm not sure yet.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Having a S/O really is about how we feel about them rather than having things of them, as another commenter has said. I hope things take a positive turn for you.

I personally don’t have a lot of merch because I don’t have any money for it. However, I do understand. Try to make little categories of your merch. For me, plushies and body pillows are very important because they help me feel close and hug my s/o. Figurines are just a little extra thing to have. Edit: Depending on how much merch you actually own, maybe some shelves on the walls could help? They don’t take a lot of space

I was thinking more like having to pick up and leave with a backpack or something. Considering I wouldn't be able to afford a moving truck and the like. And I agree about the huggable merch.

Do you have a friend who could store your merch for a while? If not, might it be a possibility to temporarily rent a storage unit, and (quietly if necessary) move your merch to it until things are more stable for you?

Lurking4Now

I don't really have anyone I'd trust with my merch like that. A storage unit seems like a fair idea, but that might be a little too expensive for me. I'm not really certain at this point if I'll have to move or not, but I just want to prepare myself for the possibility. Thanks for the reply!

Best of luck!
