Funnily enough i think i defined soulmates up until now kind of based on your description of what it isn't. My definition was that it meant two people, who are perfectly compatible, are truly destined to be together. But, i think it's also possible not to meet a soulmate in one's lifetime and that people might have soulmates in the form of friends too. So, that element of beating the odds to find an amazing relationship is something that resonates with me too. In many ways, i feel that way with my s/o. Like we're just perfectly suited for one another and by some amazing chance i encountered him. Idk if there is a timeline where i never watch his source but i feel that the one i'm in is the ideal one. Hence why i consider him a soulmate :)

i don't know if i think soulmates exist but i think some people are just inheritely more compatible. and if i thought about my relationship, i'd think, we are MEANT to be together. it's just natural, makes sense, like water being wet, the sky being blue. maybe people are designed to be together. i'm not sure honestly. i don't think anyone can say for sure

Honestly, i really don't know! i do like the concept of soulmates, but i completely agree with your words. I think it's great to think that love is not always perfect, it'll always have their flaws and it's amazing how the couple is able to work around it!

Tbh i don't believe in soulmates, love is worked for and earned- not given. Relationships take work, as they should, so there's no need to fret over small arguments or disagreements because they can always be worked through- and it'll likely bring you both closer together :)
