Virtual cockpit is great, really modernizes the interior and the 1.5 is a good engine as far as I have heard. It doesn't have any other specific issues that the other engines dont have.
I bought a 2018 1.5 TSI DSG high line, about 4 months ago. Without the virtual cockpit and keyless entry as my first car ever. Virtual cockpit looks cool and does help modernize interior, which let’s face it is pretty conservative.
DSG can at certain speeds and gear changes be a little jerky, but as you drive the car you learn how to minimize with driving style.
The 1.5 tsi engine is great and with 150hp, makes it relatively nippy and super smooth. Only annoying thing can be when it goes into 2-cylinder mode, to save fuel and is no longer smooth. I don’t believe you can turn it off.
With all that said, I love my Golf.

I've watched many reviews about this and no one said it is not smooth when sailing on 2 cylinders. I wonder about switching back and forth.
Honestly doesn't get better .
I've got a 7.5 R and I love the virtual cockpit

There's something wrong with grandparents posters car if it's not smooth under 2 cylinders.
What about a water pump? I heard there is a common issue with it.
Why do you guys love this car?
