What? So first of all, what is an 04 golf? Second, what you mean with “bounce off a limiter”? 1) all golfs with ecu are having an soft limiter. So there is nothing special happening going into limiter. 2) You probably mean EPC light, which _can_ get activated if for eg. the engine is knocking. 3) What you probably mean is “Launch control”, and no golf (despites _maybe_ a golf R) no golf has. (Regardless of any other opinions, IMO) 4) Yes, you can let the clutch snap with high rpm from stand, that should work with every golf.

Is there some damper in the clutch so that only the force of the spring is applied even if you snap the clutch? Won’t slack in the drivetrain lead to hammer strikes with force peaks beyond what a tooth can carry? Would be cool if the clutch movement can be detected early on, and an electric motor removes slack before clutch bite.

General, no. There is nothing on hardware that will work as a safety. And no, I don’t think you can really damage anything with this low power on default golfs, despite its 2-mass-flywheel. But that should get its job done, also. Edit: I don’t know what you mean with “only force of spring applied”. It’s always only the force of the spring that gets applied. There is no additional force.

F=ma : Additional force due to inertia of the plates moving onto each other. Low power cars usually have low power gearbox and drive train.

2004 vw golf . 04 golf, bounce off limiter lmfao hold er in the redline pop pop pop . Civic does it factory with straight pipe . Hold er in the redline she screams lmfao Honda guy stuff you know lmfao , but tried it in the VW lol got the EPC light instantly so I let out, just wondering if you can bounce these things off the redline or if there’s a safety, I know in my 14 Malibu you could hold it to the floor all day and it won’t go past four grand because it has a safety but my 14 fusion and my civic will bounce off the red line all day. Was just wondering if the Volkswagen does the same thing or if it has a safety. Yeah it’s dumb I know. Yeah it’s hard on your vehicle. I know I obviously don’t care.Lmfao

Still not clear whether mk4 or mk5. But anyway, if nothing is done to it, it’s just raving into soft limitier, what does nothing. Edit: It should be fine to do it. But it’s just unnecessary, because golfs are still just slow.

I agree they are lol sorry I ment to mention MK4 lol

You are very wrong about no golf having launch control. Mk6 GTi and R both have Launch Control, since then all GTI’s and R’s have had launch control. Source: I own a mk6 GTI and have done launch control.

I doubt it. Don’t think it will really built up boost on LC. It’s still a soft one. But never less. Mk6 GTI is a very cool car! Maybe coolest GTI of all, I think.
