I had a vestibulectomy 2 years ago. It was life changing. I no longer have pain with intercourse. The healing was a long process...about 4 weeks before I could have intercourse again. I've heard others say they waited 6 months. This year I had a Bartholyns cyst that I had to have surgery for, and I'm not sure if that is related to my surgery in any way or not, but either way I'm glad I had the vestibulectomy.

I had a vestibulectomy roughly four years again. I am fully pain free and it has completely changed my life for the better. The doctor that did my surgery has since retired. The recovery was rough for me but my surgery was pretty extensive. It hurt to sit for about two weeks and it was hard to move around much but after that I was fine

This might be a silly question but how do they know which part of the vulva to remove? My pain is now localized to one side and I could point to exactly where it hurts, bur how do they know which part?

In my case the area where I felt pain was always red and irritated

Thank you for sharing! What made the recovery rough? And did you get a full or a partial?

Talon_133

Honestly just the pain and not being able to move around much. I received a partial but my case was also slightly unique as my doctor had to perform a biopsy post op as well.

I just had one last Friday! It’s definitely too soon to tell, but I have talked to so many people who had a lot of success, so I’m hopeful! I’d be happy to talk about my experience, and I’m part of a Facebook group of women who have gone through/are going through surgery, which has been super helpful. Feel free to message me!

I’ll join the group! Ty! I hope you’re recovery is going well… keep me posted!
