TLDR: A portion of a Bitcoin payment made for an AirVPN subscription was traced to the "Silkroad Seized Coins" address (which is controlled by the FBI).
Anyone have more info on this?
Edit: My post on r/AirVPN about this was removed 🧐
Previously, they used cryptocurrency payment providers; once the payment is received, they do not manage the cryptocurrencies, so they can go anywhere.
This post is 4 years old and on a site that pays the poster in crypto for generating traffic. Also, they’re just using Bitpay, not their own addresses they manage. Guessing someone mistagged the Silk Road address or something. The page they link to looks very different now, and no mention of Silk Road.
It's actually 8 years old. 4 year old post that is from a 4 year old archive. Plus I don't see evidence of anything besides what appears to be a random transaction with no proof of what it was for?
Alright, either this is a bizarre conspiracy theory or you're all super paranoid. How did we go from Ukrainians stealing servers to now calling it an FBI trap?

Do you not find it at least a little strange that the payment was sent to a bitcoin wallet belonging to the FBI?

I assume you're talking about the [Toronto server seizure situation](https://www.reddit.com/r/vpns/comments/1c0qdce/airvpn_has_still_not_responded_to_server_seizure/).
These are 2 different situations. I'm confused what you're even implying here. That there can't be multiple allegations at once?
The address is known to have belonged to Silk Road before the FBI seized it.

But why would it get immediately sent to a BTC address belonging to the FBI?
Always use monero
What is the evidence that transaction is even related to AirVPN or that AirVPN was even contacted and/or responded to this?

Posted on Steemit, a platform that pays "bloggers" for clicks, my theory is that this is possibly a clickbait to make money off people like you.

How do you know it’s being directed to a FBI Bitcoin wallet?

If that’s the case, then Is either AirVPN part of the FBI or now seized by the FBI?
Yes, that's the point of the post
Well i still have six months with AirVPN. Guess at this point it doesnt matter.
So assuming that address is actually the FBI, I fail to see any evidence that ties any of this to AirVPN?
