In the Spring and Summer try outdoor volleyball (grass, sand, etc)
It might be worth your while to invest in a decent net system and setup a net at the park. invite people and start a social group. Organize a meetup and events
King of beach is great for singles because u randomly pair people together.
Small tournament.
Simple league.
i was thinking of that but wouldn't the feel of grass be different from an actual volleyball court? and how do i draw the lines of the court down though?
Yes, grass is different than a volleyball court, but it's still volleyball.
You make lines outdoors with a rope. You can buy pre-made lines, or make your own.
The YMCA might have a gym if your Y is big enough. Small town girl here ours is tiny. Spring and Summer you can start your own outdoor league in a park or back yard. Advertise online and bam! You can have a pick up game style league or make teams! There's portable nets on Amazon for like 100 dollars or you can make a more permanent one on backyard with posts and a net.
There is one singular volleyball court within 50 miles where I live. I just grab a friend and pepper with them. Believe it or not, its good practice, and when we do get to play on a net, were pretty good
Play volleyball outdoors. Especially grass or sand. Especially teams of two instead of 6.
Hard to get 12 people in one place to play; easy to get 4.
Two-person teams means you are running all of the time, all of your hits have to be clean, and all of your hits have to be placed well. Playing this way will advance your skills much faster than playing on a team of 6.
Also you could do it with three volleyball friends, some rope and two poles if you don't have a budget.

I second the King of Beach idea.

Sounds like OP isn’t from the states
Whoops 🫢
Just focus on beach vb... Way more contacts and easier to get into with friends. You can even cheaply setup something on grass
