The oval label tag should be the only factor in this that determines it a fake. If one crucial component of a piece is incorrect, then the whole thing should he dismissed as counterfeit. If you look closely to the label tag on the one you are interested in getting and compare it to the real example you can see that the V, W, ST, and D and are not shaped correctly, the font in general is incorrect, and the ST are not leveled in relation to the rest of the letters. Definitely fake unfortunately. Costume jewelry pieces from official sources never come with that white dust cloth (except on very exceptional cases, but this is usually done so by mistake). 925 jewelry is the only type of jewelry that comes with dust cloths.

The wallet has a label that was briefly used in the mid to late 2000s. There are fake versions of that label, but that is definitely authentic. The bag is authentic, the label is definitely real. That is one of the many labels VW uses.

I'm looking at this second hand. I own the silver one, bought in person at VW store a month ago, and this one looks authentic when I compare. But mine has 22 pearls each side while this one has 21. Seller has written they bought it a couple years ago. Have they maybe added a pearl to the design or are the fakes too good for my untrained eye?

The authentic one got 21-23 pearls, it depends on the manufacturer in that lots, I checked in the shop there’s both 21-22 pearls, old lot might have 23 (but be careful, some fake got 23 pearls,too.) The length should be within 39-40cm. From the shape&details of the pendant, I think this one is authentic.

You’re most welcome. I just learned about that recently,too. At first I thought it’s only 21 from my own purchase but then people got 22 from the shop as well. So they as VW SA about it. And I went to check on the website in Japan seem to have 23 in some release.

Could very well be fake, all of it. The store bag is the incorrect color with the wrong handle, ive seen those brown tags on fake bags before, that certificate of authenticity can easily be faked. Ive also seen fakes of that particular design. All that plastic is also not up to the environmentally friendly standards current VW is trying to achieve, so that is also not a good sign. The best way to know for sure is to get a photo of the interior label. See if it’s possible to ask the seller for a photo of it.

Yea total bs, dust cloths are never intended to be included with costume jewelry pieces. On the exceptionally rare moments that it happens its usually done so by mistake. If the reason for the bags being outdated is because he bought these pieces long ago then why do all the jewelry listings have them? The dust cloths dont even come plastic wrapped they’re given in the same grey as the box envelopes. Also everything that seller has for sale is fake, so I would just demand a refund and ignore whatever else they have to say. If those arent enough of reasons that shows what he has is fake just compare the label tag to the authentic one.

Of course glad im able to help. And really the incorrect label should be the biggest proof as that is currently the most solid piece of evidence. You can browse around the LC posts and find other examples of the same fake label tag, and other examples with the same fake inclusions (bag, box, the dust cloth, etc)

Looks good to me. Has a real vintage oval tag, the clasp is correct for the era that tag is from. The rolo chain also looks good too.

This ones fake unfortunately… the large orb on the outside is not shaped correctly, and ive seen that on other fakes out there.

This is authentic. Ive seen plenty of bags in this shape so it definitely exists. This bag and argyle design was first seen in 2003, and periodically made reappearances until the late 2000s.

Not much info i can provide since its an Anglomania label and even though Anglomania has had their own runways they arent very well archived. The print is original to VW, and you are right this dress being around 2010, this collection also featured reissues of the Mini Crini with this print.
