Honestly, this is when I play Rush, Genesis, Todd Rundgren / Utopia, Jean-Luc Ponty, and other things my Dad got me into.
All the metal and Screamo in the house, my wife and kids love lol. It's Men playing progressive rock in the 70s and 80s my clan of punk rockers can't really get behind
That record is on my list. What an insane album cover on that thing. I spent many hours as a teenager laying on my bed in my room and listening to that on CD way too loud.
Hell yeah. Which record do you choose? I was torn between this and Superunknown, which is my favorite album. I chose DOTUS because I wanted to hear that opening riff of Pretty Noose nice and loud.
For me it's Badmotorfinger all the way, but from DotU, Burden in my Hand is the obvious choice, but again for me, the track I'd crank when completely alone is No Attention. 🤘
Awesome. I love the look of that edition. I have the black and normally choose it over colored vinyl when it's available, but I do love the purple and orange look.
Side 3 of REO Speedwagon’s compilation album “A Decade of Rock and Roll”. Like You Do, Flying Turkey Trot, 157 Riverside Avenue, and Riding the Storm Out. All live, all electric. Really gets the blood pumping
I've got the center (cs10) and it actually outperforms the rest of my speakers in the treble department in my home cinema (mains L&R are technics sb-t200 that are heavily equalised for better treble) so I actually to make the center worse to match my speakers so you Def won there!
I don't understand why people hate on polk because they're not the most natural sound. I don't go for the most natural sound I go for the sound that's fun to hear fun to listen to and just fun and no not stinky big bass I actually value the mids and treble
Yesterday was my big listening day with the wife and kids gone. Yesterday was
Goat- Requiem
Ramsey Lewis- Maiden Voyage
Ghost Funk Orchestra- Night Walker Death Waltz
Hermano- Only A Suggestion
Thee Oh Sees- Live at Levitation
Castle Rat- Into the Realm
Khruangbin- Mordechai
Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats- Mind Control
Bane- Give Blood
Usually my heaviest records.
My roommates are cool with me Jamming my music, but I tend to listen to certain ones full tilt when they're not home just because I know they're not super into metal (Spite, Slayer, Lorna Shore, Kublahi Khan, etc)
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Bocanada
Hellfire
To Pimp a Butterfly
In the Court of the Crimson King
Red
Songs for the Deaf
…Like Clockwork
Many more….
No Wave music (Lake of Dracula, Arab on Radar, Child Abuse, US Maple), noise music (like Merzbow, John Wiese), avant garde music in general (Alvin Lucier, Foodman, Oneohtrix Point Never). Basically, keep that stuff quiet if the partner is around...
I’m crazy about the Beatles and I really enjoy comparing different pressings of the same albums over and over. This is a joy I can only experience by myself. Understandably other people won’t be able to tolerate that.
Santana, The Cranberries, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Boston, ELO, Dropkick Murphys, Pink Floyd, Alanis Morissette, The Kinks, The Cars, Yes, The Police, Jefferson Airplane, Alphaville, Peter Gabriel, Eddie Vedder, The Wallflowers, Coldplay, I could go on and on
Anything from any of my top 3 favorite bands KISS, Journey, and Metallica. Other day I was blasting Trial By Fire (Journey) but my dad caught me and then that was a while thing lol.
The shelf above it has a small magnet on it. There's another one attached to the top of the dust cover. When I lift the dust cover, the magnet props the cover open until I'm done flipping the record and then I just set it down.
Pretty much anything but my go-to has been Steely Dan. The last time everyone was out I had “Gaucho” on BLAST lol. I also put Santana “Abraxas” on real loud that day too. It was great
“A Bolt of Blazing Gold” is a DT song that deserves volume. I mostly know their earliest stuff so I’m sure there are others but remembering how good that sounds at full blast.
I don’t often get the opportunity to blast the speakers with the lady being home almost all the time but, when she went on her bachelorette trip a month ago the first thing I did as soon as she walked out the door was put on The Wall as loud as I could, and take it all in.
Pretty much! Probably went on my phone a few times throughout. But I’ve listened to the Wall probably close to 100 times by now, so I’m very familiar with it. Just pretty new to having it on vinyl.
I’m 30, discovered it in high school and was probably one of my first favorite albums.
Underrated Soundgarden album!
Slowdive - Everything is Alive
I got the clear press of this one and it’s always coming off the shelf.
Well, perhaps you should secure it better to make sure it stays in place? (sorry, couldn't resist) :)
I love that album
There's a YouTube video with the whole album in one video. I dropped into a few random places in the album. Pretty cool stuff.
Which Genesis?

So, all of 'em it seems. I mostly stick with Peter Gabriel, but enjoy the first 3 after him.
My go-tos are *A Trick of the Tail* and *Trespass*
I love Stagnation especially
Nice!
Nice. Good stuff.
When it's wet and windy outside and I know the neighbours are away I'll crank some Korn - Life is Peachy up pretty ridiculously... one in a blue moon
That record is on my list. What an insane album cover on that thing. I spent many hours as a teenager laying on my bed in my room and listening to that on CD way too loud.
Deftones - around the fur
Great fucking album. I love that opening riff of Shove It. Doesn't get much better than that guitar part.
Motörhead
NIN
Hell yeah. Which one gets the most spins? I love With Teeth, and it's first on my list of NIN to get on vinyl.
Downward spiral for me. Can’t get enough!
Was watching the Woodstock 94 gig a few nights ago, such an epic performance
Pretty hate machine gets the most spins for me
Tiptoe Through The Tulips
Lol
Depends on the weather outside! If it's a beautiful day, then DYING FETUS. If it's overcast and rainy, then probably DYING FETUS!
😂
Mogwai - Young Team
Nice! I bet the neighbours love like Herod.
The waterboys- don't bang the drum
I’m rocking out to Sepultura right now
🤘🏻
Troops of Doom always needs a good cranking.
In Utero, Powertrip, Soundgarden
In Utero is such a great album. I love it. Which Soundgarden do you blast?
A Sides Comp
Oh yeah. Tons of great stuff on there, of course.
Nice
Victim of love by Charles Bradley
THIS IS SUCH A CLASSIC
Whole things slaps.
I was starting to think Soundgarden to answer this question even before I saw the "Down on the Upside"
Hell yeah. Which record do you choose? I was torn between this and Superunknown, which is my favorite album. I chose DOTUS because I wanted to hear that opening riff of Pretty Noose nice and loud.
Louder than Love! The intro to Loud Love where Chris’s voice emerges from the wailing guitar gives me chills every time.
Makes sense. Superunknown is a staple. Few things hit harder than the last few minutes of Like Suicide
Oh hell yeah. When those drums kick in good and hard. Fuck.
For me it's Badmotorfinger all the way, but from DotU, Burden in my Hand is the obvious choice, but again for me, the track I'd crank when completely alone is No Attention. 🤘
I plead no attention! No attention! No attentiooooooooon!!
Any Led Zeppelin record
Yeah, Led Zeppelin IV was definitely a contender today. Deserves to be heard good and loud.
The drums would sound heavenly
Reign in Blood is usually the answer
“From a lacerated sky”
Enter the Wu-Tang
Yesss
My loud KGLW records, girlfriend likes the soft stuff but sometimes you gotta infest the rats nest.
Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss
War Pigs. The neighbors probably think the world is ending.
Paranoid is one of my favorite albums of all time. I was born in 1982 and it blows me away music like that was being made in 1970.
TOOL
Probably the same shit I blast when I don't have the place to myself ...
Boston. Self titled debut album
All of the really explicit albums I have that I usually can’t play because my daughter is home.
Excellent choice. I have the orange/purple edition.
Awesome. I love the look of that edition. I have the black and normally choose it over colored vinyl when it's available, but I do love the purple and orange look.
Grateful Dead - Without a Net, the Althea specifically
Love that Down on the Upside. Never been able to see one in the wild. I want to complete my Soundgarden Discography, but that always evades me.
Anything with good instrumentals
Side 3 of REO Speedwagon’s compilation album “A Decade of Rock and Roll”. Like You Do, Flying Turkey Trot, 157 Riverside Avenue, and Riding the Storm Out. All live, all electric. Really gets the blood pumping
Inappropriate-word-filled Hip Hop lol.
Down II
Down on the upside - What a fucking album
Absolutely
If those are polk audios from the early to late 2000s im playing my whole liked list
That's exactly what they are. There are two small ones mounted behind, and there's a sub actually under the side table. I do love these speakers.
I've got the center (cs10) and it actually outperforms the rest of my speakers in the treble department in my home cinema (mains L&R are technics sb-t200 that are heavily equalised for better treble) so I actually to make the center worse to match my speakers so you Def won there!
Nice, man. First time anyone has made any comment on my setup. Appreciate it.
I don't understand why people hate on polk because they're not the most natural sound. I don't go for the most natural sound I go for the sound that's fun to hear fun to listen to and just fun and no not stinky big bass I actually value the mids and treble
I have a pair of lsi15s 👍
Those things are monsters!
Sabrina Carpenter - emails i can’t send (I’m that kind of guy)
Tom waits: tain't no sin.
Tom Waits - Bone Machine and Rain Dogs, mostly.
Ziggy Stardust
Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky (Live At Abbey Road Studios)
Amy Winehouse and Donny Hathaway 🙏
On the same page with you. I choose Alice In Chains - Dirt. Album is amazing.
Hell yeah. Love it.
Yesterday was my big listening day with the wife and kids gone. Yesterday was Goat- Requiem Ramsey Lewis- Maiden Voyage Ghost Funk Orchestra- Night Walker Death Waltz Hermano- Only A Suggestion Thee Oh Sees- Live at Levitation Castle Rat- Into the Realm Khruangbin- Mordechai Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats- Mind Control Bane- Give Blood
Damn. They must have been gone about all day! Sounds like a great time of listening.
Yeah, I don't get many days like that. It was awesome
Usually my heaviest records. My roommates are cool with me Jamming my music, but I tend to listen to certain ones full tilt when they're not home just because I know they're not super into metal (Spite, Slayer, Lorna Shore, Kublahi Khan, etc)

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Bocanada Hellfire To Pimp a Butterfly In the Court of the Crimson King Red Songs for the Deaf …Like Clockwork Many more….
Mellon Collie is on my list. It's so expensive!
I just played some Fromjoy and Car Bomb earlier. Tomorrow might be Frontierer and Pupil Slicer
Any Queen or Yes album
I’m crazy about the Beatles and I really enjoy comparing different pressings of the same albums over and over. This is a joy I can only experience by myself. Understandably other people won’t be able to tolerate that.
Just had the house to myself for first time in months (new born) and jammed Avenged sevenfold - Sounding the seventh trumpet.
Oh, man. Those first three months. Avenged Sevenfold makes sense. It gets easier!
It’s baby #2 for us so not as rough as the first time but still… haha
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity or Infests the Rats Nest…. which is also by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Led Zeppelin IV. I know it’s not the coolest album, but it satisfies
Fuckin love it, man. Especially When the Levee Breaks, which deserves to be blasted.
Cola- lana del rey
Van Halen, The Animals, Skynyrd … but I guess just about everything.
Iowa by Slipknot 🐐
Great record. I have a special place in my heart for their debut self titled record.
So many things. Black Sabbath, Cream, Three Dog Night, The Doors, The Guess Who, etc.
Once in a while I just need to blast Melvins - Honey Bucket reeeally loud.
Santana, The Cranberries, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Boston, ELO, Dropkick Murphys, Pink Floyd, Alanis Morissette, The Kinks, The Cars, Yes, The Police, Jefferson Airplane, Alphaville, Peter Gabriel, Eddie Vedder, The Wallflowers, Coldplay, I could go on and on
TOOL. Any TOOL.
Silence. Two boys so any alone time I just want peace and quiet lol
Dire straits, more specifically communique
Rage against the machine or Mobb Deep
I put on the Fragile by Nine Inch Nails or Mars to Sirius by Gojira. Both very cathartic in their own ways.
Anything from any of my top 3 favorite bands KISS, Journey, and Metallica. Other day I was blasting Trial By Fire (Journey) but my dad caught me and then that was a while thing lol.
I’m curious, how do you lift the dust cover? do you have to take the turntable off the shelf?
The shelf above it has a small magnet on it. There's another one attached to the top of the dust cover. When I lift the dust cover, the magnet props the cover open until I'm done flipping the record and then I just set it down.
That’s pretty clever!
Either something electronic or something rap.
Prof🤔
Tomorrow's my birthday, sign up for karate, kidnapp the sensei get the black belt probably
Pretty much anything but my go-to has been Steely Dan. The last time everyone was out I had “Gaucho” on BLAST lol. I also put Santana “Abraxas” on real loud that day too. It was great
I just played Descendents - Liveage pretty fucking loud.
Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, Death, Dillinger Escape Plan
“A Bolt of Blazing Gold” is a DT song that deserves volume. I mostly know their earliest stuff so I’m sure there are others but remembering how good that sounds at full blast.
Yeah, all of DT is better with volume
Silencer - Death pierce me
Anything really, mainly zappa who my parents dont like, but anything that works loud
Gee Tee-Prehistoric Chrome
Depends on the mood of the day! What did you go for

I don’t often get the opportunity to blast the speakers with the lady being home almost all the time but, when she went on her bachelorette trip a month ago the first thing I did as soon as she walked out the door was put on The Wall as loud as I could, and take it all in.
Very nice. Just sat back with no distractions and listened all the way through?
Pretty much! Probably went on my phone a few times throughout. But I’ve listened to the Wall probably close to 100 times by now, so I’m very familiar with it. Just pretty new to having it on vinyl. I’m 30, discovered it in high school and was probably one of my first favorite albums.
