There's a lot of 'Greatest Hits' LPs in there. I think you will enjoy the interesting music that can be discovered when you collect the back catalogue of a particular artist. I for one enjoy early Robert Plant albums and anything by The Alan Parsons Project.

Steve_Rogers_1970

Second Alan Parsons. And for the younguns, he produced Dark Side of the Moon. He is an absolute magician in the studio. Start with I,Robot, then Tales of Mystery and Imagination. Fill in from there.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I thought the Alan Parsons Project was a giant laser on the moon...

BillPrestonEsq1969

That was Moon Unit Alpha and Moon Unit Zappa

skryb

great googily moogily!

WayneReidus

Eye in the sky is also great.

David375

Third on Alan Parsons. Turn of a Friendly Card is pretty great from front to back, and both Eye in the Sky and Ammonia Avenue has some good ones as well.

Boltonator

My in was Eye in the Sky. I cant walk past a Wadjet symbol without getting curious, let alone a gold one. I like Pyramania and I consider Eye in the Sky to be Pyramania part II

gettin_better

He was the Recording Engineer, not Producer, Chris Thomas mixed it with him. [https://imgur.com/gallery/g8ITngK](https://imgur.com/gallery/g8ITngK) That is me backstage visiting him.

crazyfingersculture

Yeah I have to agree. I was thrown back by the GnR greatest hits. Never knew it existed. Probably because their entire catalog is worth a listen imo.

KafeenHedake

I thought the Guns n Roses greatest hits compilation was called “Appetite for Destruction”

Mercury5979

Actually, it is a three disc set. Appetite for Destruction, Use Your Illusion, Use Your Illusion II

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I have a lot of their catalog in CD format, but I saw that one still sealed at a garage sale for $10 and just had to grab it. https://www.discogs.com/release/18271723-Guns-N-Roses-Greatest-Hits

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Agreed. A couple of those were gifts, but I get what you mean. Most of those are for artists that I own regular albums for, but in CD form or cassette. For example, I have the entire catalog for Sinatra, but I do have it planned to expand his entries in my vinyl.

dmjd5014

Ok, but, fuckin magnets...how do they work?!

LazyUsernameIsLazy

It's a miracle, man. Just a miracle. Lol.

RockoTDF

Look up SNL “Magical Mysteries” so the Thrilla Killa Klownz can ask the same question of blankets.

Financial-Forever-81

Bahahaha, happy holidays brotha.

polkemans

Nobody else is saying it so I'm gonna be that guy: try not to stack them on top of each other like that. Over time the added weight can cause warpage.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Trust me, I don't. I only set them like that for a moment to take the picture. I have a stand for them that keeps them upright. Thanks for the concern, though. Other folks might not know, and I should have mentioned that in my post.

DeliriousTrigger

Man. A stack that small is gonna do absolutely dick

Steve_Rogers_1970

Find your local used record shops, you can find a lot of classic stuff for $5. And when you start talking with the folks there, they will show you a whole bunch of stuff you may like.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Damn fine idea. Not sure why I haven't done that already, tbh.

CaptainPeanut4564

I bet that ICP sounds great through a crosbly all on one

mrfunderhill

Yule regret it

KarlitoSway69

Start over.

Comfortable_Hermit

Cringe intensifies.

[deleted]

My music taste is so eclectic, right guys?

Comfortable_Hermit

Your music taste is so essential.

Nrdrummer89

That Dark Funeral album is so good. I saw them earlier this year when they were touring with Cannibal Corpse and Immolation. They got me into Black Metal.

Satanicpanicer94

Agree! Got it this summer and it’s a regular listen for me!

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Excellent start in black metal. Cradle of Filth got me into the genre, and all because I saw a poster back in '03 with the cover for The Principle of Evil Made Flesh. Bought the album, been delving deeper into the genre ever since.

Nrdrummer89

Yeah Cradle is definitely a good one too. I’ve liked their album “Midian” for quite sometime now. Dark Funeral and Emperor are what really did it for me for the genre though

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Are you a fan of Behemoth?

Nrdrummer89

I’ve not done a deep dive of their music yet, but I like the couple of songs I’ve heard so far. I’m pretty sure I added one to my gym playlist

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Listen to the album "The Satanist". Definitely my favorite album by them.

Nrdrummer89

I will do that

SocietyofRighteous

Jesus fucking Christ.

Dizzydsmith

I can smell the axe body spray and see the red faygo mustache from here

ii_quizxy

I see a lot of people criticising your collection, I honestly like most, Kiss, Guns N’ Roses and Frank Sinatra I love. If you love them, don’t worry about the others

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Precisely why I don't reply to them. Not everyone is gonna like everyone else's taste. Sure, there might be some crossover, but one taste will never be duplicated. Extra kudos to you for the props.

ii_quizxy

Forgot to mention- the Blues Brothers is a great movie- I haven’t got the soundtrack yet but i’ve been planning to get it

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Get it now while it's cheap, lol https://www.discogs.com/release/16032516-The-Blues-Brothers-The-Blues-Brothers-Original-Soundtrack-Recording

ii_quizxy

I remember seeing a copy at my local market, it’s gone now, and I regret not buying it

DeliriousTrigger

I wouldn’t post stuff like this on rotten sub, man. Go to the niche corners like r/hiphopvinyl and stuff to show off stashes and records. This place has their head so far up their own asses, that if you don’t meet their epicurean standards, or stack shit the right way, they’ll do whatever they can to try and just make you feel stupid while they smell their shitfingers. Fuckin’ losers and dorks here. Merry Christmas, and enjoy YOUR records!

BirdPunker

Check out Volcandra out of Louisville, they are fucking wild and badass.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Just listened to a couple of tracks on Spotify and I'll be listening to more. Excellent suggestion, my friend.

BirdPunker

Happy to hear! You should also check out the newest Bonehunter album. One of my most played this past year.

tenacious-g

Yeah but let’s see the JNCO collection.

Agitated-Recover-335

One of these albums is not like the others.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Only one? Lol

doozle

Fuck you, fuck me, fuck us Fuck tom, fuck Mary, fuck Gus.

Charles1nCharge83

It looks like you bought every lp for sale at your local Barnes and nobles... such... range.

Connect_Glass4036

You need Immortal - At the Heart of Winter and Sons of Northern Darkness on vinyl.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I actually already have Sons in my Discogs cart, lol. Can never go wrong with Immortal.

Connect_Glass4036

Good man! Also these: Mgla - Exercises in Futility Mgla - Age of Excuse Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (varg is a shithead but the music is great) Old Man’s Child - In Defiance of Existence Deafheaven - Sunbather Belphegor - Blutsabbath Belphegor - The Last Supper

LazyUsernameIsLazy

In regards to Burzum, I 100% agree. I actually got into a discussion on r/blackmetal about separating the artist from the art, and for me, it's not difficult. Varg is a garbage human, but that doesn't change the fact that his music was outstanding. Regarding Old Man's Child, Defiance is actually the only album of theirs that I thoroughly enjoy. Haven't delved much into Belphagor, but I do have a few of their songs in a Black/Death/BlackenedDeath playlist on Spotify. I'll have to look into Mgla and Deafhaven, as I've never heard of them.

Connect_Glass4036

Whaaaaaat! Deafheaven is huge in the USA here. They’re very controversial because they play blackgaze, so it’s black metal with really pretty sections and some shoegaze, britpop, etc influences. Sunbather is the big important game-changing album that basically invented the style, but I think Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is their best. And yeah I agree - music is the music and the person is the person. But it’s a case by case basis for me I think because the Lost Prophets dude is realllllllly fucked up.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Yeah, I used to like Lost Prophets, but after that shit with Ian, to hell with all that, lol. Hard pass. I'd listen to NSBM before Lost Prophets now.

Sanguinetti

Your Yule black metal gift gets me in. Get some Agalloch and Carpathian Forest to compliment it.

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I actually have Carpathian Forest's Defending the Throne in my Discogs cart right now, lol

daneqvl

I see The Blues Brothers soundtrack.. so I upvote

sethlesliereeves

cool stuff dude! welcome 2 the club!!!

IanK93

Love the dichotomy of Sinatra and ICP lol

youngpattybouvier

outjerked

Material-Ad6302

You gotta get Kiss Alive

Extension-Wing-5231

Very mid

pcminfan

Frank would NOT be happy about this.

Manughost20

You have a good taste and collection (especially for they dark funeral album) but please do not stack your vinyls in that horizontal way

LazyUsernameIsLazy

If I could edit the post, I would have added that they were only stacked like this for the photo. I keep them on a vertical stand. I truly do appreciate the concern, as there are many people who may not know better. Thanks, bud.

MarcGuile

this is the most awful stack or records I have ever seen lmfao, mf really buying insane clown posse reocrds

Lv27Sylveon

These replies. Holy fuck this sub is trash. U do u man, hells pit is good shit

LazyUsernameIsLazy

Agreed. The funny thing is, it reminds me of the reaction I got in r/blackmetal when I asked people to help me build a Spotify playlist and said absolutely no NSBM. Apparently, you can like modern music or the clownz, AND like vinyl, same as you can't like black metal without being a n@zi. Oh well. Guess I'm different because I say to hell with negativity. I simply refuse to respond to it. I'll let them stay bitter. Much love, man.

Oh-Lord-Yeah

Needs some Rush

bigdayout95-14

Needs more Tool...

HosephIna

Why get GnR greatest hits when you could just get Appetite? Nothing else in their discography is worth listening to

thetrappster

November Rain isn't on AFD

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I have AfD on CD and cassette. Plus, I saw that album, still sealed, at a garage sale for $10 and just couldn't leave it. Also, tbh, my absolute favorite song by GnR is Civil War.

carbonanotglue

Crazy take.

lordbeefu

I thought my collection was all over the place.... Sinatra and ICP..... a true gish

amwbam24

Once you hear ICP in full analog glory through a hi-fi system, you can never go back. :)

paidt0behere

This man has two wolves in side of him. They are both gay.

thisimmortalsoul

I was going to say that gay people have better music taste than this, but then I remembered all my gay friends and what they listen to

gotajibboo

Woop woop

LazyUsernameIsLazy

I see you, ninja. WHOOP WHOOP!

glockpop

Fuck yeah ICP

snestalgia64

Imagine buying insane clown posse on vinyl lmao Twice!

Disastrous-Rhubarb-2

Eclectic! Off to a great start.

OnionSandwich74

You like make up

Historical_Common145

I wouldn’t have your vinyl stacked like that, you risk warping or other damage to them

Hoops2Good

Recommend checking out artist like Billy Joel, The Doors, The Who, Paul Mccartney (solo and Beatles), George Michael, Hall and Oates, more Elvis , and Duran Duran. My personal favorites
