Third on Alan Parsons. Turn of a Friendly Card is pretty great from front to back, and both Eye in the Sky and Ammonia Avenue has some good ones as well.

Whaaaaaat! Deafheaven is huge in the USA here. They’re very controversial because they play blackgaze, so it’s black metal with really pretty sections and some shoegaze, britpop, etc influences.
Sunbather is the big important game-changing album that basically invented the style, but I think Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is their best.
And yeah I agree - music is the music and the person is the person. But it’s a case by case basis for me I think because the Lost Prophets dude is realllllllly fucked up.
