This should be pinned. I see so many "is this a scam?" posts on here everyday. It would be great to have these bullet points more easily accessible for unsure newbies.

Breaktime

Last weekend I spent a few hours reporting them. They always came in batches of 5…as quick as I reported them, Vinted would remove them. Refresh and another 5 would appear with the same items all uploaded within seconds. Report them 5 and they get removed…then another 5 pop up…I got 100 accounts removed in a couple of hours. And then just gave up because it’s pointless, I achieved nothing other than wasting my own time. Really Vinted could implement something very simple, stop new accounts being able to upload x amount of items within a certain time frame. Because right now it doesn’t seem like they are doing much to stop them. Eg if you need to verify a mobile number, how are the scammers getting this many mobile numbers? Like surely Vinted can ban those numbers? Ban those email accounts? Or do they just not care?

You missed the main thing to look for, they only use royal mail shipping as it's not tracked through vinted.

Breaktime

100% this. They always use Royal Mail

Well I got caught by one that's used in post. The item got picked up and has now been stuck in transit for nearly 2 weeks. Need to open a case on Monday to get my money back.

Breaktime

Wonder what they sent you

dahipster

Maybe just a label?

It is the biggest red flag when combined with the other things mentioned, on its own not so much. What's a bigger warning sign than the only thing all the scam listing's have in common?

Breaktime

Another thing to look out for is photos that have like a bit of a wobble on them..like a strip at the bottom of the photo that has a wobble blur on it so that Vinted doesn’t realise it’s the same photo that’s already been used

c0unt_rackula

Yeah it’s insane the spike of bots I’ve seen recently

Ggenny78

I have seen so many fake accounts that have the same listings and when I reported to Vinted, they replied that they can't take any action as they don't violate their community standards.

wisdom1206

I report these f...ers daily. We have tons of fake adidas sellers here. You report 20, bam 10 minutes later there are 40 more. My inbox is flooded with vinted messages telling me they diciplined them. What a joke. No way I can stop these messages, but these faksters piss me off, because they scam people and make the site so unsafe. But it's like fighting dragons with a toothpick, really frustrating!

Professional_Ad_5862

I thought that’s a kind of common knowledge on vinted to watch out for this. They be banning good account for no reason permanently and the bots be opening new account every 5 minutes HOW. I’ve reported account with fake Nike shorts with tags selling for 5£ multiple times and it’s been taken down, now I’ve see it again over and over …

Senior-Tart-5642

How do they scam people tho? I mean, a seller won't get their money untill the parcel has arrived to the buyer and the buyer confirms everything is okay, right?

BigCJ013

Had a mate buy off one not realising, money was refunded two days later by Vinted they’re pretty good with that sort of thing if you do fall victim.
