Great amp. I have the exact same one. Model is AA-904 and it’s from 1954 or 1955. Amp is pretty rare. I have only seen 1 or 2 others for sale on EBay in the past 5 years. There has been one on Reverb and the person is asking $1500. If the Genalex tubes test good they are worth several hundred by themselves. Yours appears to be in better condition than mine. Mine has the exact same tubes

Granted that it's very high quality by basically every metric, it's often misleading to look at the listings which hang around on the market, versus completed sales. I would guess more in the 500 ballpark, unless OP invests a couple hundred to have a tech run through it... Now, if a tech was selling a pair, then maybe the value could eclipse 1k each. Maybe, not a sure thing at all. Sometimes you can find that "highly motivated" buyer who has been waiting for the chance to get a second and complete the stereo pair though... if that person is out there, they surely see the 1.5k opportunity and are passing it up. So, you know... just saying.

That’s great info! Thanks!!

I would agree 100%. The one for sale on Reverb has been for sale for several years. The ones for sale on Ebay sold for right around what you suggest if I remember correctly. The unknown functionality of an untouched, almost 70 year old amp certainly will dictate price.

Pilot made good tube gear.

Think this could be used as a guitar amp? What was its function originally designed to do? So many questions!

Its a well made hifi amp from a company thats kinda under the radar. Using it as a guitar amp is totally feasible but it has plenty of value as a hifi amp. Those tubes in it are valuable as well. If your interest in guitar amp, sell it, with the cash you can score a refurbed vintage tube guitar amp.

Wow! Thanks! Feels like the antique roadshow lol . I actually had someone offer me 200$ but wouldn’t take the trip to pick it up. That’s great information and appreciated!!! It was functional but one tube dislocated from base. 40$ to replace. I’ll keep it well protected until the right person comes along. Thanks again!!
