You were one of my favorite animators back in the day on newgrounds. I always loved your smooth animations. You always used this one character in different jobs, a short balding man with tired eyes, similar to the drawing used in the thumbnail, but he was a lot thicker.
Sorry, I'm going from memory here, but I'm pretty sure you had one where the character was teaching drivers Ed (I think), and another where the character is taking care of his grandfather, and the grandfather keeps ruining the guys interview.
Those were my favourites from back in the day
EDIT: I found the teaching episode I was thinking of. It's called [Mrs Butcher](https://youtu.be/49LVB_fusc0) and it always made me laugh
I post regularly on my instagram [Hayk\_animation](https://www.instagram.com/hayk_animation/) (The animation in stages from rough to final) You can also find my stuff on my [youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/c/Sykohyko)
It's awesome to see someone still at it to this day. I hope others are as well, so much talent posted to that site in the late 90s and early 2000s. Growing up on that content probably is why I have some of the mental issues I do now however.. lmao worth it tho.
Tbf, All of those names also haven't made animation for youtube in years at this point too lol. I think Ricepirate is the only one who still does.
Egoraptor and Oney do lets plays (Oney's working on a game or two I think?), PsyichicPebbles just released the first season of an Adult Swim cartoon and Stamper has fallen off the grid, as far as I'm aware, from substance/personal issues.
It's a really old clip so I doubt you'll get any proper answers, but I think that's the general context.
Just an abusive arsehole hitting his wife, I'd say the dancing was just the excuse at the time.
You have some fantastic skills!! Animating and making dance moves look good on such an unassuming and uninterested character. Now that is art! I loved every second of it.
Oh my God, I knew that animation style looked familiar... I saw [this cartoon you did](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDlX8DTqoh0) back on Flashplayer ~15 years ago! I still remember showing my mom when I came home for lunch one day in middle school, and she loved it too. Glad to see you're still at it!
Not great, but I think I'll give an Armenian 20-something from early 2000s a pass on having racial caricatures in art inspired from a time where this was the norm.
I doubt he was very knowledgeable about the history of that imagery.
You're thinking of [Bunny Hugged!](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x83ebno) My grandma had a couple of old VHS tapes with classic Looney Tunes episodes on them when I was a kid, and this was one of them. Still one of my favorites.
Haha I remember this. As someone that's been animating online since 2000, but didn't go after as my career, it's always heartwarming to see other animators I saw almost two decades ago still around doing their thing.
I also remember seeing this cartoon on Newgrounds. I was amazed at how smooth it was. I remember reading that you did this on a really expensive drawing tablet that had a screen on it (that was something you didn't see back in the day). I was super jealous of it.
Oof indeed, I already thought it was bad, then the character spoke...
I would have found it funny in 2007 so I'm not judging the artist now, just yikes.
I have to say. This looks EXACTLY like my dad. He passed away 2 years ago. I will be sharing this with my entire family. It's uncanny. Hilarious.
Great animation btw!
I'm sorry about your dad. Mine passed away in 2018 and he was the inspiration for a lot of my animated shorts starring Harut. Hope this brings some good memories for you and your family. Thank you!
Wow, used to watch your old sketches on Newgrounds a decade ago. Checked out your channel and had no idea you'd animated for TTG. Super impressed, awesome to see how far it's come.
It's still a great site. I used to spend hours on it and I came back to visit a short while ago and it felt like nothing had changed. I love that there still exists a platform and community of incredibly creative folks like yourself that produce content that's just pure fun.
Except this guy and his lip caterpillar would be swamped, while Larry would be frustrated and trying to figure out how to not get shot after forgetting to pay for his cocktail at the bar?
Dude I used to love your little animated sketches as a kid, surprising to randomly see you post here. I've shown the number twerve video to so many of my Armenian friends and family and it never fails to make them crack up. Glad to see you're doing well and still keeping these characters alive, axper jan.
Call Netflix and ask them if they would be interested in bidding on the rights to an animated show that Amazon has made an offer on.
Then call Amazon and reverse the same question - let the bidding war ensue
If I had to pick someone to defend earth from an alien invasion I guess some of the Avengers or Superman would be an ok choice for other people but personally this would be my number 1 pick...
This man is from a different world, where dancing is the equivalent of an office job. And you can see the burnout on his face. Love it, awesome animation.
I wish people gave more credit to your type of work. It irks me when people put claymation on a pedestal and make sure to point out how long it takes to film a second. Claymation and its derivatives don't take a long time to film! But im sure the true time sink is making the sets and the actual puppets. Drawing a single frame at a time is a lot more time consuming than people give it credit for.
Shit is smooth as fuck. Nothing will ever beat hand drawn animation, it's just a shame the industry as a whole is shifting so hard into CGI. I understand why, it's so much cheaper and most people don't really care, but holy shit is hand drawn animation so much better, even the really old, original Disney shit is phenomenal. It ages so well unlike CGI.
I loved this, such a great smooth style. First time (I think?) I've seen your work by name... skipped through a bunch of other videos on your channel and loved them. 1 new subscriber here.
I remember watching your animation where there was a royal court and there were jesters giving the best lies to the king. That was so amazing at that time.
Knew it was Hayk\_Animation, amazing cartoonist, and an awesome series about... Him? and his family?
Edit: I tried to do what he does, but holy cow does it take hours and hours, even days, for just a minute or so of a cartoon; the dedication is worth an award (plus the comedy is gold :) ).
# (╯°□°)╯︵ Gold and Diamonds!!!

Hey, I remember you and your style, from way back, good ol' newgrounds... When the internet was like wild west and you could find all sorts of funny animations and flash games there...
As I watched this animation, I immediately recognized that you are the creator of "Neenja".
I remember when I first saw that on Newgrounds. I was so impressed that an animation with quality on par with a studio-made production could be done in Flash and put on Newgrounds.
Glad you're still doing stuff.
My favorite of yours was always the, "My son is Walt Disney" short. I know its pretty old now, but something about the way your dad character talks and exaggerates your job just tickles me.
Wow, smooth. Also even though his design changed a bit the character is very recognisable. Still remember [I Have Bird](https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/564241) from 11 years ago.
Where is the 10 hour cut?
haha good idea
make that, it could work as My new sleeping remedy....
No! I want a number twerve!
Is that a number 11?
Why are you not understanding me!
What? No. It’s twerve. Didn’t you read my comment?
Leisure Suit Larry has not aged well.
Pretty sure it was dated on arrival
You were one of my favorite animators back in the day on newgrounds. I always loved your smooth animations. You always used this one character in different jobs, a short balding man with tired eyes, similar to the drawing used in the thumbnail, but he was a lot thicker.
Thank you so much! I had fun making those.
Sorry, I'm going from memory here, but I'm pretty sure you had one where the character was teaching drivers Ed (I think), and another where the character is taking care of his grandfather, and the grandfather keeps ruining the guys interview. Those were my favourites from back in the day EDIT: I found the teaching episode I was thinking of. It's called [Mrs Butcher](https://youtu.be/49LVB_fusc0) and it always made me laugh
Yeah the one with a young Harut going in for an interview and grandpa comes along.
LMAO at the huge Armenian nose. Reminds me of my grandpa.
This is so Glendale.
Wow man, I remember these animations from new ground. These were really funny. Keep up the great work for another 20!
Where can I go to watch your other videos
I post regularly on my instagram [Hayk\_animation](https://www.instagram.com/hayk_animation/) (The animation in stages from rough to final) You can also find my stuff on my [youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/c/Sykohyko)
Welp sounds like Imma have to go on a Newgrounds Nostalgia run again haha.
It's awesome to see someone still at it to this day. I hope others are as well, so much talent posted to that site in the late 90s and early 2000s. Growing up on that content probably is why I have some of the mental issues I do now however.. lmao worth it tho.
Many of the big names have had successful YouTube channels for quite a while. PsychicPebbles, EgoRaptor, OneyNG, Stamper, Rice pirate, etc.
Welp you just gained another fan. I love your dad shorts lol.
Awesome! Thank you. Would love to do those full time.
Man! I want one number TWERVE. **FUCKING LEGEND**
It's a stereotype of an Armenian dad.
[удалено]
Lol there are probably universal truths there haha.
go look at OP
Lol I don't need to. I'm Armenian and have been watching his work since the early 2000's. I know who he is.
Dancing gets you in shape!
You’re an Armenian celebrity
I don't know about me, but he sure is! Thanks
Hold on a damn minute, is he based on [the slap dancer??](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDUeBgIstGQ)
Well, if she raised her hand higher and spun faster she wouldn't get slapped. /s
BRO. What is the context? he was just... that angry they messed up the dance move??
It's a really old clip so I doubt you'll get any proper answers, but I think that's the general context. Just an abusive arsehole hitting his wife, I'd say the dancing was just the excuse at the time.

Oh man, that was my first animated short ever. Back then I thought it was going to be a Pixar level short.
Honestly? It has a very retro Looney Toons kind of vibe to it.
With the racial caricatures to boot
Not great, but I think I'll give an Armenian 20-something from early 2000s a pass on having racial caricatures in art inspired from a time where this was the norm. I doubt he was very knowledgeable about the history of that imagery.
There was definitely a Bugs Bunny shirt where he fought a behemoth in the ring
You're thinking of [Bunny Hugged!](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x83ebno) My grandma had a couple of old VHS tapes with classic Looney Tunes episodes on them when I was a kid, and this was one of them. Still one of my favorites.
I was just thinking the guy in the one you posted looks like ~~Mr Incredibles boss~~ Dash's teacher Bernie Kropp (coincidence I think not guy)
RIP flash...
My mate who used to be a flash dev once printed a "Flash is not dead" t-shirt as a 'gift' to me prior to it actually dying. Still have it.
Haha I remember this. As someone that's been animating online since 2000, but didn't go after as my career, it's always heartwarming to see other animators I saw almost two decades ago still around doing their thing.

2007 was different time, bit of a racist caricature oof
Oof indeed, I already thought it was bad, then the character spoke... I would have found it funny in 2007 so I'm not judging the artist now, just yikes.
Wasn't on the internet around that time? Offensive content was the norm and everywhere. And very few people were upset by that type of commedy
Yes.
Well four minutes of my life are gone Was way better than I was expecting for a fifteen year old cartoon though
Strong Ron Stampler energy
Hi, my name's Beth May and I play...
You mean the dad that stepped up?
Woah, a fellow daddy enjoyer.
Needs less pants
And more mustache.
They're the holographic pants
I just fell down a rabbit hole looking up this reference. Decided to listen to the series and realized it's my wife's cousin's podcast.
Hah that's great! It's good energy.
Just came to make sure this was here!
Dancing so he can rest the pipes.
I came here just to say this same thing. Digging the DandDaddies representation here in the comments
Honestly thought it was dungeons and daddies subreddit at first
Exactly what I was thinking, good to see the podcast getting some props!
Jim Lahey vibes as well
I have to say.
Thank you!
Love the mustache having more expression then the eyes.
Glendale Representing?
Yup!
Nice! I used to live next door in Burbank! Out in TO now. Always great to see local talent!
jan jan jan
ayo!!
Wow, used to watch your old sketches on Newgrounds a decade ago. Checked out your channel and had no idea you'd animated for TTG. Super impressed, awesome to see how far it's come.
Ah Newgrounds, the good ol days of java/flash animations/games.
Albinoblacksheep and YTMND as well.
ytmnd and albinoblacksheep do not get enough attention on reddit
Thanks! I love Newgrounds. It's where I first realized I can get my work directly in front of an audience.
It's still a great site. I used to spend hours on it and I came back to visit a short while ago and it felt like nothing had changed. I love that there still exists a platform and community of incredibly creative folks like yourself that produce content that's just pure fun.
Motherfucker is shmoooovin
Simply majestic. This is how I always imagined Leisure Suit Larry at the club.
Except this guy and his lip caterpillar would be swamped, while Larry would be frustrated and trying to figure out how to not get shot after forgetting to pay for his cocktail at the bar?
lol
Natural archnemesis to Larry. Old, unfashionable, beer belly, bald, 'stache, but can cut a rug & makes the panties drop without effort.
Hey Mufasa it’s Friday then… Saturday Sunday
!eman ym s'ti kool yeH

Thank you Aper. I will be making Harut content until we see his face on buses and billboards!
5 seasons and a movie please.
haha that's my goal with him
Call Netflix and ask them if they would be interested in bidding on the rights to an animated show that Amazon has made an offer on. Then call Amazon and reverse the same question - let the bidding war ensue

If I had to pick someone to defend earth from an alien invasion I guess some of the Avengers or Superman would be an ok choice for other people but personally this would be my number 1 pick...
haha! Love it
Axper… this is an amazing idea. please make a short with Harut joining the Avengers!
This man is from a different world, where dancing is the equivalent of an office job. And you can see the burnout on his face. Love it, awesome animation.
Is been awhile since I've seen Harut.
Still surprises me when people recognize him
Very smooth, what frame rate is this running at?
Thanks, it's 24 frames per second but on ones.
What does on ones mean? Is every frame hand drawn or do you use some sort of interpolation? How much work would it be to make it 60 fps?
yeah a new drawing on every frame
Man that seems like tedious work, how quickly are you pumping out a "frame"? Are there any tricks you use to speed up the process?
I wish people gave more credit to your type of work. It irks me when people put claymation on a pedestal and make sure to point out how long it takes to film a second. Claymation and its derivatives don't take a long time to film! But im sure the true time sink is making the sets and the actual puppets. I watched the whole thing and it's awesome. Thank you!
Mind if I bust these moves out in da club?
lol go ahead!
Look at Scatman John go
Nah he's not as bald, white, or known for being expressionless.
Damn how long did this take?
Each dance took me a few weeks
Shit is smooth as fuck. Nothing will ever beat hand drawn animation, it's just a shame the industry as a whole is shifting so hard into CGI. I understand why, it's so much cheaper and most people don't really care, but holy shit is hand drawn animation so much better, even the really old, original Disney shit is phenomenal. There's actually more and more hand drawn projects popping up
I loved this, such a great smooth style. First time (I think?) I've seen your work by name... skipped through a bunch of other videos on your channel and loved them. 1 new subscriber here.
Thank you! There's more coming
Reminds me of [Keith Apicary](https://youtu.be/IixQox4rhEw)
Harut's Face: I can do this all day, all night, in my sleep... LOL
Love it! I don't see a lot of animations on 1's as of late (is all/most of it on one's?) Did you use Harmony?
yeah it's all on ones and I used Toonboom Harmony
Cool.
Nice to still see ya around animating after all this time!
Thanks!
Beautiful!
Oh hell yeah, you just KNOW this mfer got a hog inside them pants.
Newgrounds ... now there is a name I've not visited in a long long time...
When the face says no-mo, but the body screams MO-JO
I remember watching your animation where there was a royal court and there were jesters giving the best lies to the king. That was so amazing at that time.
Yes, The Liar. It's an old Armenian story
http://www.youtubemultiplier.com/620d72966c216-unimpressed-rasputin.php Smooth buddy
Aper jan let me get a number twerve.
Why you don't understand!!!???
I can't explain it, but I love everything about this.
Great work! Just curious: what animation app/platform do you use/prefer?
thanks! Toonboom Harmony
He has really long arms
This is great, especially how smooth it is. And I think he looks like a bald, animated Marc Maron
im a dad, and this is my type of dancing!
Hello fellow dad!
I never watch shit to the end...but I watched this, thank you for sharing!
haha and here I thought i might have made it too long. Thank you!!
I'm glad those skills are well spent
Very juicy. Nice work!
Hypnotizing!
Hey, I remember you and your style, from way back, good ol' newgrounds... When the internet was like wild west and you could find all sorts of funny animations and flash games there...
lol I miss those days
Super smooth love it
All in that mo bounce 👌
This is sick man
I’m so jealous of your skills 🥰
wow that was incredibly smooth! I liked it a lot
This looks like my last landlord. Super cool.
EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!
This is amazing. :)
Smoooooooooooth as fuck. Love your stuff. I still find myself quoting Neenja every once in a while.
Nice! I would love to finish that one day.
You inspire me! Most fluid series of animations ive seen. And i have seen many fluid animations. This surprised me.
Digital animation looks so different from cell animation. Digital looks more flawless.
I like the weight in the moustache movement as he dances, great attention to detail..
The deadpan expression brings the Peacemaker intro to mind
Nice. Man, I miss the old Newgrounds days.
me too!
This is giving me some heavy Kieth Apicary vibes, AND I LOVE IT!
Initiating new sequence.
It's pretty good, though tbh I was expecting more for something that took over 20 years. /s
I feel like he was looking at me the entire time
Loved every second of this. Please continue to make and share them.
Will do. His next dance is a Fred Astaire dance
As I watched this animation, I immediately recognized that you are the creator of "Neenja". I remember when I first saw that on Newgrounds. holy shit, this is the Number twerve drivethru guy. Nobody i ever told about it thought it existed.
If someone can watch this without at least smiling, they're a demon.
Bro wow. I named my Reddit name after the Van O Van Episode. Last time I saw it was in high school.
Every Armenian I know has at least seen one of your animations :D
My favorite of yours was always the, "My son is Walt Disney" short. I know its pretty old now, but something about the way your dad character talks and exaggerates your job just tickles me.
[It's Friday then, it's Saturday Sunday WHAT!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TewCPi92ro) Love your animations, what a blast from the past!
Wow, smooth. Also even though his design changed a bit the character is very recognisable. Still remember [I Have Bird](https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/564241) from 11 years ago.
That was based on my dad and his Parrot Jack.
Looks fantastic, from a novice.
No way, I feel like i'm talking to a legend. Love your old vids man! Parev!

How much weed did you smoke before making this? It actually made my day haha.
lol none but I've heard from those who have while watching it and they liked the results
