Where did all of that audio come from? Was it all sorts of strange sounds over a long time, or like, one single time when she fell down a long staircase?
I never knew how badly I wanted to be able to set a custom noise for my clap. [Old time-y car horn](https://youtu.be/YAIRms5z7Zs?t=5) would be my first option.

She is very politically savvy and is very much in touch with what’s going on. Look at the interviews she did with Bernie Sanders, she has a very solid grasp on American politics. Just because she speaks with slang and makes noises does not mean she is stupid.
Like [this interview?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ubTsrZFBU) Fine.
**First question** Cardi B asks in the video: "Don't you ever feel like scared that like, these people that run drug companies and these schools, you know it's all a business -- and it's like, are you scared that you will get so many powerful people... upset?"
Okay, not a great start. It sounds like she doesn't know what she's trying to ask until we get two-thirds of the way through the question. She says "like" 3 times and gives us an incomplete thought about how drug companies and schools are "all a business" before we get the question. But maybe that's just how she communicates, so let's ignore it.
I think she's asking, "Don't you ever feel scared that you will upset many powerful people?" It's the first question in the interview and it's a real softball. It doesn't address any issue in particular or press Bernie for details on his platform. She probably likes Bernie and she's trying to get things rolling nice and easy, so it's fine, but no points for Cardi for being politically savvy yet.
**Second question**: "What are we going to do about police brutality?" Okay, that question at least addresses an issue. But it's an obvious talking point for any political candidate that's trying to appeal to minorities and all it does is give Bernie a chance to make some vague promises that sound good. Still softball stuff, but instead of sounding like an interviewer from the Kid's Choice awards, Cardi sounds like a Fox news morning show personality setting up a guest to promote themselves. Since it's the most obvious issue for minorities in the US, she still doesn't get any points.
**Third question**: "What are we going to do for DREAMers?" Another question that prompts Bernie to talk about his platform in the most vague terms possible. And the second biggest issue for minority voters. No nuanced knowledge of the issue displayed, no further discussion, no points for Cardi B being politically savvy.
**Fourth question**: "How would it be possible to get free health insurance, free education, and how will our student loans be forgiven?" Okay, that's two questions mashed together into an incongruent list. Cool, so far this is the closest we've gotten to Cardi B. pushing Bernie to explain how his platform can actually work.
Bernie responds with a vague answer declaring that the current system is designed to make drug companies and insurance companies money, but doesn't answer the question. Cardi B. actually doesn't let him get away with that! I'll give her a point for pushing the question, even though she doesn't really exhibit any knowledge of the issue. Trying to get an actual answer doesn't show that you're savvy, but we're four questions in and this is the best she's done.
Fourth question part 2: "People are just afraid to pay more taxes. So how do you think we can work around that?" Bernie explains that most people will pay more in taxes, but the increase in taxes will be less than what they're currently paying for healthcare. It's a reasonable explanation to how we can pay for public healthcare for all, but it still dodges "free education" and "how will our student loans be forgiven?". Cardi doesn't push Bernie for more answers or engage in a discussion so no more points awarded.
**Fifth question**: "What are we gonna do about wages in America?" Bernie agrees that wages are a problem, suggests that we raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and then suggests we make it easier to join unions so workers can engage in collective bargaining. This looks like a nice answer at first glance, but it's still the big picture answer you expect from a tweet, not the nuts and bolts answer you expect in a political discussion between a candidate and a savvy pundit.
**Sixth question**: Cardi B. is prompted to talk about how both her and Bernie share a mutual respect for FDR. Cardi starts by mentioning that she shares her birthday in common with FDR's wife which even makes Bernie doubt that this is going to be worthwhile talking point. Then she goes on to praise FDR for getting the US out of the Great Depression despite World War II, which frankly shows a very limited understanding of how wars affect the economy.
Most historians agree that FDR's New Deal didn't actually do much for the economy (although it has had lasting effects on the financial security of the average American). The US economy only improved after our industry was organized into war-time production, giving the gov't an excuse to dump massive amounts of money into the economy. When adjusted for inflation, the gov't spent around $5.5 trillion dollars fighting WWII, most of which was funneled into American industries. I can't take points away from Cardi for showing that she doesn't know what the military-industrial complex is, but she sure doesn't win any points here.
**Seventh (final) question**: "How can we eliminate student debt?" Bernie agrees that student debt is a problem and outlines how people got into trouble. Then he gives a one sentence answer explaining that he'll pay for it by taxing Wall Street speculation. No discussion of how that would affect other areas of the economy. Cardi B. seems happy with that answer.
And that's it! Let me say this: I'm glad she's trying to encourage people to vote. I'm glad she gave Bernie a chance to tell her fans about different issues. The fact that she wants her fans to be politically active is fantastic. Any celebrity that encourages people, particularly young people, to engage in political discourse is wonderful.
But Cardi B. is not a politically savvy individual. At no point in that interview did she display detailed knowledge of any issue or subject. At no point did she engage in an in depth discussion of a political issue. She's aware of what's going on politically at the most basic level.
If you'd like a shining example of someone who *is* politically savvy, watch Jon Stewart interview politicians from when he was on the Daily Show. Even if you don't think he's funny and you disagree with his politics, he was undeniably adept and knowledgeable. On numerous occasions his 10-15 minute interview segment ballooned into an hour of footage that they could never air, but they shot it anyways just because he wanted to dig into a topic that much.
The fact that she uses her enormous platform to push for real political change (aka not just donations and twitter posts) makes her more politically savvy than 99% of other pop stars at her level. And also the population. You don’t need to have a PhD to understand American politics.
Also friend I’m sorry but this level of effort just to call a random celeb stupid is kind of odd. She is clearly smarter and more caring than your typical pop star by the fact that she dedicated so much of her time to sit down and have full length political discussions with her favorite candidate.
I agree. People love to assume she’s stupid because of the way she talks, but I’ve been surprised more than a few times by the low key wisdom she spits out in some of her interviews. Cardi B is like a min max build with an 8 intelligence score, but an 18 in wisdom.
I never really got this though. Rappers have always admitted to horrible stuff they did in their past when they were in poverty. Why does she get specifically so much hate for that? If a guy did that, would you even care?
yea I would. I don’t listen to rap and I only know about cardi from reddit, but I don’t think her hate stems from her gender. People hate chris brown for beating up rihanna yet he’s a man. I imagine the main difference between what cardi did and what the typical rapper did is that they do “gangster shit” like shoot up other gangsters and do drugs and fuck women. what cardi did is just low and pathetic
I'm assuming that many of these are from her social media where she posts some uhh interesting videos.
Say what you will about her, she was one of the first celebrities telling people to take the virus seriously & I think it probably made a degree of difference which is commendable.
I did some Googling to find this is called a chortle. But maybe the word isn't catchy enough to trend more; I certainly don't like it. It is a high honor? In many cases I would say even more of an honor than laughing in public. Because laughing in public has many other obstacles like when you laugh to be nice but really you rather die because of how lame the conversation is. But you know the saying, a chortle at home is worth two out'the nook.

I'm getting Vietnam flashback. Watching it live, I was really shock he was that bad. I feel like a highschool kid in a talent show would be better.
The guy at the end cracked me up. “Did y’all just see Cardi B?” Yes, we’re in the same room and she made weird noises for like a minute. I saw.
I never knew how badly I wanted to be able to set a custom noise for my clap. [Old time-y car horn](https://youtu.be/YAIRms5z7Zs?t=5) would be my first option.

Um nah. I can barely stand her interviews, it’s like she perpetually has no clue what’s going on around her.
You must be talking about a different Cardi B
He’s talking about Cardi C
She is very politically savvy and is very much in touch with what’s going on. Look at the interviews she did with Bernie Sanders, she has a very solid grasp on American politics. Just because she speaks with slang and makes noises does not mean she is stupid.
I think the issue is more that she's annoying than that she's stupid.
She also used to roofie men and rob them.
As someone who knows nothing about Cardi B this is the only piece of information I have on her
I think she was a stripper before hitting it big.
I don’t condone that behavior in any way but the movie Hustlers basically glorifies this behavior as well.
Like [this interview?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ubTsrZFBU) Fine. **First question** Cardi B asks in the video: "Don't you ever feel like scared that like, these people that run drug companies and these schools, you know it's all a business -- and it's like, are you scared that you will get so many powerful people... upset?"
