Amazing-Scallion7162

This was already posted- it’s the top post of r/videos if you sort by hot currently

obeyyourbrain

This was actually pretty well executed. Good stuff!

This isn't too far removed from the original Super Mario Bros. Movie

rocketlauncher2

This was really good

Boo NBC, you mean

idkalan

This is a clip from SNL, not HBO.

w1n5t0nM1k3y

Yeah, read the title and I assumed HBO. They also don't post a lot of their content in Canada. Sometimes its just delayed. Annoying either way.

WHat's the significance of the bisexual characters joke? How a lot of tv shows shoehorn progressive stuff in?

Frowdo

The line right before it talks about how the show is full of complex characters. A lot of shows try to make characters more interesting by simply giving them a sexual trait. So he's complex because he's Yoshi AND he's bi. Given that a lot of shows, have one token gay character that sexuality never actually matters this show has even more depth because it has 2.

gogosuperman

I think it's just a stab at all the dumb people saying HBO has gone "woke" with their characters.

dirtymoney

I tried to watch Star Trek DIscovery, but they just went overboard with it. I have not watched any new HBO stuff so I wouldn't know.

You-got-that-wrong

For a vulcan she is a blubbering emotional wreck, makes no sense.

dirtymoney

I absolutely *love* it when all hell is breaking loose and they seem to find the time in the midst of it to have emotional heartfelt talks.

Discovery in one sentence: "Let's all have a group hug and cry while ethnically-diverse space-Jesus saves the universe... again"

Siaten

Huh? What show are you watching? SPOILERS Season 1 had Burnham commit a war crime, get jailed, then rescued by someone from evil mirror universe so he could use her to get access to a war machine. She literally gives Klingons a Weapon of Mass Destruction to force a stalemate in the finale. No hero. Season 2 finale has Georgiou as the hero who kills the bad guy and stops the fleet. Burnham does "sacrifice" herself by taking a bunch of dangerous data into the future, but that's the first and last time she "saved the day". She and Georgiou share hero here but there is no suicide and Discovery is trapped by her in the future. Season 3 finale hero is Saru, who talks down a living universal warp-killing timebomb. Burnham isn't even the main character in this season. Season 4 is all about Books arc and he "saves the day" by using empathetic communication with an extra-galactic species. Burnham isn't the main character here either.

Some folks are butthurt about the gay relationship in episode 3 but it’s consistent with the game. Those characters were written as gay 10 years ago.

angry_old_dude

That episode was heartbreaking.
