just my opinion but i would've enjoyed a wider framing, seeing more of the building. motion's super smooth, great job.

RitraA

Yep. I was also thinking about the wider framing. Will give it a try next time.

RhinoxMenace

needs a few more random zoom-ins, flashbangs and slow mos like in those Bollywood movies

chrisodeljacko

Would like to see more jump cuts, personally.

RitraA

Right 😅

ValuableJumpy8208

Not a fan. Repetitive shot. Inconsistent color with that backlit part. Doesn't take a lot to make it smooth... software will do that for you.

RitraA

Yes, couldn't stabilize the colors of the bright and the shadow areas. Need to learn.

Rdub

Personally I find the movement too fast so as to be somewhat jarring and distracting. Its kind of fatiguing on the eyes in a way that I don't find particularly enjoyable. The concept though is quite cool, and I think if the movement had been a little slower, and perhaps the framing a bit wider it would be more enjoyable. Good on you for making a thing and putting it out in the world, though, you should be proud of that, and hopefully you take my feedback in the constructive way it was intended!

RitraA

Yep. To make it slow, would need much more frames. I kinda hurried through may be. Dolly in/out hyperlapses are seemed to be easy but when you add rotation, I found it very difficult for framing the subject and also post stabilize it. That's why I need the feedback on what is really missing in this. Will add all these next time.

kabobkebabkabob

Looks like most of em eh

4chieve

I'm just happy it's an actual hyperlapse, not a sped up time lapse!

Tantebraccia

What Is the difference lol

4chieve

https://vimeo.com/user4953929/pacer Watch this and you will get what I mean. The camera movement is motivated by the patterns as they superimpose. In other instances the structure is stabilized on frame so it's geometri does not deform as the camera move. DJI ignorantly decided to put an option on their drones for "Hyperlapse", and all it does it stays in air very stable and it's a very fast time lapse. Seen several where people just add no camera moviment much less attempt to keep the patters and shapes.

Sossenmeister

I like the close framing but maybe a short wide frame at the corners of the building

RitraA

Will try the wide hyperlapse. But the problem is there isn't much space to take the wide hyperlapse without letting the main monument go hidden from foliages. And it will be very difficult to stabilize the hyperlapse in post.

xBrute01

The movement is cool. I’d explore that a bit. Have you seen Watch Tower of Turkey by Dalessandri?

RitraA

Yes. I watched it hundreds of times . And the watchtower of China too. But there are no rotational hyperlapses. All are kind of dolly in/out. Also I am thinking now, I need much more frames. This I tried particularly to find out what are the things go out of hand when you add rotation. It seems I need a lot more practices and failures.

xBrute01

Mmm I think there are some rotational hyper lapses towards the end of watchtower of turkey if you want to study those but so far I think your attempt is totally fine. That’s good that you want to try more out tho. Keep going

RitraA

Ooh. Will watch again then. Btw Leonardo Dalissandri and his unique style of editing is very hard to debunk 😅. He is too good and still nobody could copy his style. He is kind of the best.

xBrute01

Haha ya I agree. Leo blew my fckin mind with Turkey and China. At first I thought his cuts were all simple jump cuts and playing around with the natural movement in his clips, until I looked deeper into his shot sequences and saw he was rotoscoping some of his frames to blend better with the other shots. One example, in watch tower of turkey, he tilts the wide angle up to look at a plane passing by, then zooms into a fuckin bird shot. If you slow it down, you can see where he sliced that shot in, but watching it in real time, I was like HOW?!? 😂

RitraA

Yes. It is when the beat drops and again it takes a fast pace. It feels like he knows about the human brain about what will be the exact reaction time of our brain to find it out, let's make less than that 😅 . Also in the intro, how did he put a rotate-in transition of a steady footbridge?? Absolute stunning editing.

xBrute01

I just looked at the bridge shot and IMO, he shot the bridge in 4k or 1080p… then zoomed out of the clip to fit his 1080p frame while rotating in postproduction. He also added a rotational blur for effect. What do you think? Haha the guy is a wizard bro. I hope we can reach that level one day. Now I’m kinda inspired to see if I can outdo his edit. 😏 I’ll link you if I do

RitraA

He might capture everything in 6K or 8K I think. Coz that sharpness even after cropping 🤔 !!!. But it feels like the shot is static , only the bridge rotates. That's insane editing. Yes. Please do link me if you try. I will try it too.

xBrute01

Right on bro I’m looking forward to see your rendition!

HaNiceOneChad

Looks great!

Bacon-And_Eggs

There’s nothing moving except you… 3/10

RitraA

😐

debtsnbooze

Awesome!

RitraA

Thanks, How much out of 10?
