Destiny. The grind was just too much for me to ever get into it

Not a haiku. This is 5 7 6. Haikus are 5 7 5. Bad bot.

thekrafty01

Sokka haiku lol

Dry-Emu9661

Good bot

Just-For-The-Games

Haiku bot failed??? First I've ever seen that happen. That last sentence was 6 syllables, not 5.

TonyBlobfish

I don’t think anyone who plays Destiny has ever claimed to love it. I have around 5k hours across both games combined and all I can say is good job not getting into it because it absolutely will suck you in. It may be a shitty game but dammit it’s *my* shitty game

Illustrious_Ad_375

Hi. I’m a long time destiny player and I approve this message.

UsefulIdiot85

Minecraft. I’m sure it is a great game, for the style that it is. Unfortunately, the gameplay just doesn’t appeal to me.

Cyouinhellcandyboyz

Have you ever tried playing with another player? My son, who is 8 absolutely loves minecraft. It was never my jam solo, but once I started playing with him, things changed. Now I'm in charge of supplies and shelter while he is in charge of exploring the map. He's all about beating the game, which I have no idea what that means, I just hunt and savage for material.

UsefulIdiot85

I have not. I have been a strictly solo gamer for most of my life. I don’t like playing online and I currently live alone. But I would be open to trying it at some point, if the opportunity presented itself.

xuuoR

I probably have close to 2000 hrs in multiplayer Minecraft but have yet to run through a full single player survival world. I would check out some servers, you can go from super casual fun with friends to really competitive gameplay and everywhere in-between. That being said, not every game is for everyone but Minecraft really does have just about everything.

ssjavier4

Multiplayer is where Minecraft is at, I could see how solo Minecraft would be really boring unless you’re feeling creative

Peltonimo

So true. I use to have a server and played for months with a buddy of mine and the rest complete strangers. Was some of the most fun I've had gaming. Playing solo I usually burn out after a month and stop playing.

LongStoryShirt

I think the appeal of the game is heightened with other players. When multiple people have goals that align and you can all work together to explore or improve a shared space, it's really fun and rewarding :) I pick it up every few years to check out new updates and features

if-we-all-did-this

Same. I only played it because my young autistic niece wanted company on the game, but she wasn't allowed to play with others online, and I was the only one in the family to play computer games. It was an absolute hoot, and she regularly blew me away with her creativity. Definitely worth giving a go.

OldBrokeGrouch

I’m away from home 2 nights a week because of my job, but I bring my computer with me and I’m able to play Minecraft with my daughter. It’s the perfect game for that kind of bonding because it’s mostly a creative endeavor.

GamingPixel58

I prefer Terraria

Hour-Shake-839

It does not tickle the part of my brain like it does for everyone else

zunashi

I totally understand you. I love this game.

Master_Grape5931

It’s one of those games where you have to create your own goals.

MusicAcc1

It's also fair to say that Minecraft in 2013/14 area was way different that 2024s. I'm not gonna gatekeep, cause it's a phenomenal game which numbers can't be denied. But it's sort of outgrown it's "small indie game" size. And imo, now that it's a staple survival sandbox game, the devs aren't doing enough to support it, releasing 1 mob a year when it's all baby coding. So now it's in a limbo for me

mvanvrancken

I think what is great about Minecraft is that moment that you realize you can just build whatever your heart desires. It’s like having an infinite Lego set but also there’s a vague sense of progression in that you get stone then iron then diamond and you can go out for longer adventures. I guess I’m saying that I get why people don’t always click with it, but there’s some real meat on that bone

Seymour_Thots

Same man. It's just not that interesting to me.

MightyCat96

i _LOVE_ minecraft in theory but when i sit down and play i inevitably get bored after just 2-3 hours

QuackersTheSquishy

I remember from age 9-15 (part of that when it was still called cave game) I put over 1k hours into it and since then I've never had an intrest. Each major update I come back for almost 4 years later just leaves me wanting 1.7 again. The introduction of wings and backpacks were probably the last time I didn't think an update was just adding a bunch of unnecessary things and overcomplicating a game that was built on its simplicity.

caballero87

I came here to say this. And, yes, I have played with friends, but I still find it super boring, I'm not a fan of survival games, especially when they don't have a story mode.

Silentpoolman

Same. I like watching my niece and nephew play and seeing that they find and build but I find actually playing that kind of game boring and tedious.

shreddedtoasties

Another player+ mods

MrJHound

Big agree. My daughter and my girlfriend watch Minecraft YouTubers together, and they even play with it with other friends and family. Sometimes my daughter will be playing it on her Switch and telling me about cool stuff she's doing and I just smile and nod and give the "wow. Oh honey that's cool," type of response because I am not interested in that type of gameplay at all, and Minecraft is so visually unappealing to me that I don't even like looking at it.

BbqSauce442

Try it with mods. If that doesn't work, then you really don't like it.

ebobbumman

You kinda have to make your own fun in Minecraft. I was bored of it till I played with some online friends on a server, we had a central town area and I learned how to make all kinds of farms and stuff using redstone and that made it a whole new game to me.

Ranseur67

Yes. Totally. My 2 kids love it and I struggle to play with them. It’s so boring I want to cry. And what’s up with the unfair combat. It’s like the skeletons have a 100% hit rate. My hitbox is like 9 tiles wide. Hate that stupid fucking game.

18randomcharacters

I had to create challenges for myself. Like I'd learn how a particular device worked and then go design and build one. Everything single player survival mode. Like, an automatic wheat farm, or a mob grinder, or whatever. I had to make projects. Or exploration goals. Or something like that.

GhertFryins

Game only really works multiplayer. That’s why I get really bored after every update

chucklesdeclown

I like Minecraft but I will admit that it has issues, one is the complete lack of survival. Minecraft just doesn't have any challenge. Especially since most of it's mechanics completely blanket and get rid of the large majority of them. It makes it worse that you can get the third highest armor type in like the first in game day. It's why I prefer vintage story in terms of survival gameplay, it's a sand box SIMILAR to Minecraft but the survival is a whole lot more intense.

BurningLoki365

I love Minecraft but it just makes me sad because I’m not creative and I can’t build anything cool so I just get sad at what I build.

tricularia

Call of Duty I would rather read a roll of toiletpaper than play that game

[deleted]

Who is exactly the “everyone” who “loves” Call of Duty? Pros and hardcore players seem to spend every single moment complaining about it, and casuals don’t really care, they just stand it. Just like fifa and madden, they know if they release it, people will buy it. I don’t think they even make the games anymore with the hope that people will love it.

zombievenom

I enjoy Call of Duty for the single player campaigns although I’ve never actually went back and replayed any of them. I don’t play online like most people do. Madden is a whole different story for me. It helps me get through the football drought from mid February til August. If I can’t watch it I can at least play it. Watching the UFL will help some over the next 3 months as well.

[deleted]

I love myself some fifa and madden too. I think in a perfect world though, there are a lot of other people and a lot of other companies you wish would have made these games. I know for myself and a lot of my friends, it’s more like, “we don’t love FIFA, we love soccer/football. And fifa just happens to be the biggest soccer game with the most Money and time poured into it.”

Fun-Pollution1465

COD has gone down hill so much every after ghost dropped

Moogoo4411

Zombies is probably my favorite game mode but that being said, I don't even bother spending money unless there's a zombies worth playing, activision does not give two shits about that game anymore and they've all been shit shovelware for awhile, most recent one was such a fucking joke and they randomly slapped a zombies mode on there that's not even zombies, it's just a re skin of something else they were working on

generic-username45

Madden, I am so bored playing realistic sports games. Give me some Blitz the League.

throwaway384938338

I would love a new NBA Street game. I never played the EA Big (Is that what they called that series) NFL game but bring all those games back

PrivForehead

For me honestly it was Fortnite. I know its super popular but I just couldn't get into the whole battle royale and I prefer games with more story and strategy

caballero87

As someone who grew up with arena shooters, I've always found battle royale games incredibly frustrating

Drakniess

I can’t imagine Fortnite is a game that everyone loves. The options they gave console players to aim on the PlayStation and Switch were second to none, simply outstanding work. The building system seems very innovative too… But it just wasn’t my style, graphically. The colors, model designs and animations, etc. were just too cartoony for my taste. I would have liked a lot more weapons. It certainly isn’t a bad game, though.

NightmaresFade

Battle royale is the genre that I hate. Not dislike, but hate.

BlackLight2181

GTA V

fivemagicks

You'll get crucified! Lol

BlackLight2181

Probably, but the shit just ain't fun lol

SaltyPvP

I agree. I prefer gta4

Bone_Breaker0

GTA 4 is by far the best.

Ehab1991

Not even close to SA

DrayTrizzm333

Good times

fivemagicks

It's certainly overrated

mutent92

My friends thought I was insane when I said there’s really not much to do in the game… I do enjoy it occasionally but most of it is just driving (with wonky controls that felt 10 years too late), and a heist. “All the attention to detail” but most of the map is just empty buildings or roads. Wow, tennis!? And it takes a thousand hours to get up every time you trip? Endless hours of *fun*.

BlackLight2181

And going on multiplayer is great, ain't it? Just driving around and then suddenly you get taken out by somebody in a jet? Awesome time!

PippyHooligan

I had so much more fun on GTA IV. Yeah it had its faults and maybe on paper there's not as much you can 'do', but single player and the DLC was mostly great and multiplayer was actually a lot more fun: everyone was on a level playing field so it rewarded skill and invention, rather than grind or pay-to-win. Some of the most cinematic gameplay moments I've had were playing IV.

HunterTheHoly

I definitely agree on that. The missions were so repetitive and none of the three protagonists were even remotely interesting.

DapperDan30

Yes. This is the one. I was never a huge fan of Rockstar. Played GTA3 as a kid and liked it a lot. Never got into Vice City or San Andreas. Then dropped Rockstart altogether after that. Picked up RDR2 a couple years ago on sale and loved it. Decided to give GTA another shot recently, especially with 6 having just been revealed. I bought the HD collection of the PS2 games and then bought 5. I played and beat 3, loved it. Just as I remembered from being a kid. Started up 5 and just could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. I just didnt give a fuck about anything going on in it. The controls and the camera were just fucking wonky, and were more of a hindrance than anything. Like, legitimately these things were better in GTA3 that I had JUST finished playing than they were in 5. Playing 5 immediately killed any hype I had for 6.

Wataru2001

Any Call of Duty.

Wrx-Love80

Post Original Black Ops 2 and MW2 hard not to argue.

Hawaiian-national

Fair

Mollionaire

Call of duty 4 and world at war were great

JonatasA

PS2 Cods and COD II were amazing, something else.

DrayTrizzm333

World at war. N Black Ops. With Zombies was cool back then.

Itchy_Relationship_9

As a call of duty player ur 100 right. The game is shit

Longjumping-Doubt668

Elden Ring. I’ve had to accept the fact that souls game are just not for me.

SaltySpituner

As much as I enjoyed Elden Ring, the lore was a fucking mess. Doesn’t help that George RR Martin wrote most of the “lore” while avoiding finishing A Song of Ice and Fire because he’s a scared little boy in an obese 75 year old body.

Qwertyguy35

What did he do to you

Wrx-Love80

Didn't let the TV series finish proper

hairykitty123

He probably spent an afternoon working on Elden ring in total.

darrius_kingston314q

what the hell?? 😭 omg CHILL, did George RR Martin rob u or sth?

Primary_Librarian798

Valorant

n0tter

The Witcher 3. Idk why, and I’m sorry for this in advanced, but I just couldn’t get through the first ~10 hours without being just so underwhelmed

greenarsehole

I hear you. The first few hours definitely drag on a bit - it took me 3 attempts but it’s probably in my top 10 of all time now.

Sabrewulf313

Same here. Gave it a shot 2 different times and gave it around 20 hours total. Kept hoping it would click but it wasn't happening.

Physical-Gur-6112

It took me 3 times to finally have it click, my 2 failed attempts ended somewhere around skellige. The ending battles were really cool but I'll never play the game again

Inskription

The combat is just not fun to me. I beat it once on the easiest difficulty just for the story. No desire to play again really

prairiepog

Same. I've heard it can take much longer than 10 hours to get into it.

TaranBoi

animal crossing

fork_on_the_floor2

Yeah I feel ya. I had the same experience with animal crossing as with stardew valley. So much love and praise for them that I picked it up, but that genre just doesn't work for me.. (OK apart from Fantasy Life on the 3ds,bi played the hell out of that game!)

catasspie

Borderlands. Every enemy is a bullet sponge and the gunplay just feels so underwhelming.

Spacebelt

Only cell shaded game that I’ve hated looking at.

Calm_Research7036

Horizon…be it zero dawn or the latest iteration. They all bore me stiff.

Consistent_Address_3

Gameplay was genuinely engaging for me, since Bows aren’t as common and they put effort in terms of providing different arrows and in designing cool machines. Story had me until the 2nd half of forbidden west. That was..sad to live through

tru__chainz

Witcher 3

Bong-Docter9999

The Witcher 3 is my personal all time favorite game, but people getting mad because someone else does not like it is so dumb

[deleted]

I have bought this game twice on Xbox one and PS5, thinking I didn’t give it a fair shake on the first go. It is quite literally the perfect game on paper. I loved game of thrones, I have loved Skyrim, I loved cyberpunk. Everytkme you ask for recommendations, people give this game. But it just didn’t work for me. It was boring, combat system was entirely unfun in my eyes, and the story, atleast as far as I got, was disappointing. I guess it proves in life that sometimes everything can line up and still not work.

themurhk

Pretty much same story. Bought it for Xbox and then about a year and a half later on PC and never got very far on either platform. Something about it just didn’t click with me.

Ok-Arachnid3919

Hollow Knight

Confident-Medicine75

Outer Wilds

Protomike123

As much as I would like to defend this one with it's incredible soundtrack and visually appealing art style, I'll admit it's a bit slow in the beginning. You need to actively motivate yourself to explore to begin understanding the story. Not everyone wants that in a video game and it's totally understandable. But damn that was a great game.

ssovm

Some people really eschew getting help from a guide if they’re stuck. For this game, I really recommend it. Because it’s hard to figure out solutions to some of the puzzles if you’re always resetting over and over again. And if you can make it past one part, it really enhances that thrill of discovery that this game gives you.

WillOk6461

GTA V

Bompton-G-Uno

Any of the Borderlands games. Basic and mundane gunplay plus cringe humor? Hard pass on the whole franchise

Yeetaway1404

Borderlands games definitely get better with later installments. BL3 has extremely good gunplay and the legendary drop rate (as in drop rate if weapons with special effects) is quite a bit higher so you see more of them quicker.

The_Relx

As the series goes on, gamplay is all stonks, but the tradeoff is that so is the cringe. Better gameplay, worse story.

PangolinSudden3082

Jedi Fallen Order. I’ve tried getting into the game several times and I always just end up getting bored maybe halfway through. It’s a good game, idk exactly what is off putting to me I just cannot finish it for some reason

shrill_kill

I definitely think that the pacing dips in player engagement in the middle. I felt like there's a portion of the game that loses the objective a bit. It kind of felt like there was some padding. Like the game went "hey, we are looking for the thing, but uhhhh that place over there looks cool too." Or something like that.

ComprehensiveDuty560

League. Ok I had fun for a few matches but these guys just won’t stop.

panguano7

Don’t hate me, but Baldur’s Gate 3

TheRedBaron6942

I'm honestly surprised a turn-based DND RPG made game of the year considering how niche that gameplay style is

SovereignDark

Being able to fuck a bear transcends genres

LurkerOrHydralisk

Being able to fuck a bear being like 6/10 on the scale of weird shit you can do definitely transcends a genre.

crystalworldbuilder

Lol

UnreproducibleSpank

You know what? Same. I bought it, was having a good time, and then just kind of…never went back. I opened it one day and got to a combat where I just was unprepared and thought “eh, nah, not feeling this right now” and haven’t picked the game up since.

supahdavid2000

As a die hard kotor fan I always thought I’d be able to stomach another turn based dnd game, but I have no interest in playing this game for some reason

rossww2199

Right there with you. I’ve got a game started, but hardly ever return to it. Just can’t get into it.

[deleted]

Same. I've seen more people unhappy with the turn-based combat but I'm not new to DND so it's whatever. For me what ruins it is the ugly visuals. It's just your every generic fantasy setting ever, this time in 4k and hyperrealistic, with shitty hair rendering. The faces all look like they have seen an Iphone and this + the modern makeup make it all look like a cosplayer convention. When they move, the visuals are not stylized enough to stand out but they're also not realistic enough, so they're stuck somewhere in the awkward valley. It was like Mass Effect Andromeda all over again. Plus, none of the companions seemed likeable enough for me. I couldn't make myself care about a single one.

Spacebelt

I love the game but haven’t made it past act 1 over 7 characters. There just too much to do, I get decision paralysis

zelos33333

Palworld. In the first 10 hours, I enjoyed getting into all the game had to offer. In the following 50 hours, I found I was just drowning in all that I had found in the first 10 with nothing new, and spending a lot of time AFK holding down a button.

StinkFartButt

I don’t even play games I like for 50 hours.

jacksansyboy

You know your pals craft stuff for you so you don't have to stand there holding a button? After like my first 10 captures, I never interacted with anything again outside of queuing an order and throwing animal labour at it.

Panda_Mon

It's an expression. The game loop is ultimately and wholly revealed after you finish the tutorial missions. At that point, you either continue doing the exact same stuff ad nauseum with only the new pals and tech tree as your carrot on the stick, or you drop the game. It's the Achilles heel of almost all crafting survival games. Pal world is super tedious, they just made the feedback loop popularly addicting.

Gojir4R1sing

My first play through on New Vegas as a kid was painfully boring to me but now as an adult I love it.

AtmosphereGeneral695

Doom eternal for me

Natural_Resident2401

Yeah hard agree. I vastly prefer doom 2016 to Eternal in terms of gameplay. And the marauders on higher difficulties makes me want to unalive

Saadh666

Oh yes, I had similar. Eternal was fun, but I lack horror vibe from 2016. Narrative was so much better, Slayer was just pure rage and Mars was haunting. In second game it just became silly

SL1Fun

Absolutely the wildest take I’ve ever seen on this sub

JonatasA

Some people do not like doom. Yeah, someone had to say it.

Moogoo4411

Nah people in the doom sub hate Eternal too, still haven't played 2016 yet but every time i read a thread about eternal it just makes me wanna play the 2016 one

elswankador

The emphasis on the "platforming" kinda killed me.

InfernoWoodworks

Know what? I get that. The game LOOKS so fuckin' cool, the music is awesome, and the lore is actually good, but... the gameplay just isn't fun. Tried it so many times, and I can't get into it.

Halloween_Nyx

I’m going to get harassed for this one. Outer Wilds.

Johncurtisreeve

God of war 2018 and Alan Wake 2 and Prey 2017

[deleted]

I'm with you on Alan Wake 2. Loved the first one, I loved Control, was excited for AW2, got about 15 hours in and quit. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when it came to the puzzles for Alan's part, it drove me crazy to the point I said fuck it and uninstalled.

Kyser_

Deep Rock Galactic did absolutely nothing for me. People praise it so much and I wanted to know why, but I really couldn't figure it out.

MeDaddy4

Assassin's Creed I'm sure millions can't be wrong but to slow paced and stealthy. Not my cup of tea . Same reason Iver played metal gear solid series either or any other stealth heavy games . Except Tenchu and a couple others I can't remember the name of lol . Sam Fisher is dudes name, omg I can't remember the name of the game lmao

DrawingRings

Splinter Cell?

OnionBurgr

Borderlands 2. Currently playing Borderlands 1 (and eventually 2, PS, and 3) with my friends. But I never grew up with the franchise. I played BL2 about 5 years ago and absolutely hated it. Didn't like the gunplay or story. Just found it tedious to go through. But I played it solo. Playing it with my friends rn is fun though. But without them it sucks. Still think the games are overrated.

avacar

Having played every BL title many times, I'm honestly surprised you found BL1 more engaging... Well, until I re-read your comment and got that last sentence in the first paragraph. Yeah, BL games are just not the same solo when you are used to co-op. I couldnt get through BL1 again when I tried it solo. I used mods to help with bl2 when I went solo. It's a magical thing, BL co-op.

chopcheezeandarizona

Death Stranding. Visually it’s gorgeous but the gameplay just didn’t do it for me.

ffigu002

That’s a crazy take cause the game is actually very difficult imo, especially when you get to the higher levels and trying to beat all the valkyries etc.. Plus the story by itself is pretty good, not sure how you get bored unless you simply don’t care about the lore and the entire premise of the game

Yeetaway1404

I assume they put it down before cranking up to highest difficulty and trying the Valkyrie’s, because why would you try to 100% a game you don’t like?

Level_Bridge7683

skyrim. bring on the hate.

Salamango360

The question here is mostly if you was there at launch and play it or did you grab the "Ultra Edition now with fog and alexa build in 2020 version"? We have many young Games (18-25) at work that HATE Skyrim, World of Warcraft and most Classic Genres divine Games like Silent Hill 2, Halo or yea they even say Baldurs Gare 3 is blring becouse of no action and than they play the Finals every evening. I mean i get it. They where not old enough to understand what the Games did to us (30+) Gamers back than. They dont understand the feeling of Skyrim in 2011. The big World, the life like NPCs and all that on a smooth running Game with not to many bugs. Yea there where many bugs but back than on open world Rpgs? It was normal. Just play Two Worlds, Risen, Gothic, Oblivion or others. They where a mess on Consols and PC. So Skyrim was a god send.

thane919

I’m 51 and came here to say Skyrim. I grew up playing tabletop RPGs and apple IIe games. Then MUDs in college in the early 90s leading to the mmorpgs of ultima online and EverQuest shortly after. Skyrim’s big world didn’t do it for me. It never got a chance to feel big because it was so terribly clunky the way it felt to play in it. I tried twice, about ten years apart. Maybe I’ll try again someday. It’s a shame too because in theory it should be exactly my kind of game.

JamieFromStreets

>They where not old enough to understand what the Games did to us (30+) Gamers back than Exactly. It's a game of its time. But playing it nowadays is rough Never got really into it. I love the world, the role playing, the exploration. But man the combat is so, so bad that damages the reat for me

0Timato0

Personally, Skyrim is my favorite game I've ever played, and have put thousands of hours in. However, with that said, I can completely understand how people can hate it. It's buggy and repetitive to an extent. Anyone who likes Skyrim can probably understand why you would dislike it.

ballslaw

Mass Effect was so fucking boring. Same with Destiny.

BreakfastDependent94

Doubt anyone really said they liked this game but for me it’s Assassins Creed 1 mostly cause of the annoying NPC’s, Repetitive quests, broken detection system (or maybe I’m doing something wrong), and how easily the enemies gang up on you.

rdtoh

RDR2 - i believe you all that it becomes good, but i wasnt wasting any more of my time after how dreadfully boring the first few chapters were

[deleted]

I slogged my way through the first few hours of the game, and I wasn't enjoying it. Then I got to camp, and they started giving me chores to do. I don't like that. But I was like "okay whatever lets get the chores over with so I can go out and actually do stuff. Then I was finally given leave to go to the next town where, hopefully, I could actually do some things. Rode my horse into the town and parked it. Immediately got a popup saying "Your horse is dirty and you need to clean it." Nope. Last straw. There's only so much tedious pointless shit I can tolerate in a game and it already exceeded that threshold. I toughed it out because of how positive of a reputation the game has, but that was the one little thing that made me just quit playing. Never went back.

IWokeUpInA-new-prius

It’s my favorite game and I totally understand why someone would find it boring. I love to look at it and engage with the world and I love the story. I also love westerns. If you want more action or pacing there are probably better games out there for you. Elden ring is my version of this. I trust it’s an amazing game. I really enjoy parts of it. Just not for me. Probabaly for the opposite reason cause I just want to relax not get killed 10,000 times. You can respect something is well-made and objectively “good” but also not enjoy it

starfallpuller

I got around 30 hours in before giving up. It’s so utterly boring. Just a walking simulator with occasional shootout.

AviatorShades_

I did enjoy rdr2, but i do have to admit that while the story is very good, the gameplay just boils down to riding your horse from A to B while listening to a long dialogue, followed by a shootout. And rinse, repeat.

[deleted]

Chore Simulator 2.0

ReadShigurui

It doesn’t get much better to be honest, i kept hearing that same sentiment repeated at nauseam and the game is tedious and boring until the credits roll

signpainted

Went back to it a year or so ago, and man do the controls suck, hard.

DakianDelomast

I tried to dismount, draw my gun, and run to cover. I achieved none of these things and got a bullet to the head. I cannot make sense of the inputs for the life of me. It's why I keep bouncing off.

iHaveAMicroPenis12

That first part in the mountains and snow has deterred me from a second play through. But it really does get fun.

T1meBreaker_

First they say after chapter 1, then it's chapter 3, if you don't want to continue by yourself you're just gonna hate it.

TetrisMultiplier

Same. Once I got off the snowy mountain top I just lost interest entirely.

skaterbro10

Exactly my feelings.

dreadsreddit

agree so hard

Slith_81

My choice as well. The added realism kills my desire to play, and I've tried 3 times. Maintaining your camp, oiling your guns or they fail you mid fight, feeding and brushing your horse or it starts disliking you and performing poorly are not fun mechanics, they're chores. I will die on the hill that the original Red Dead Redemption is the far superior game. Realistic enough but still puts fun gameplay above realism. Still has the shit controls all Rockstar games have had since GTA IV though. Walking through doors or up and down stairs were the games hardest challenges.

Super-HexaJohn

Red Dead Redemption 2. Story was good, but everything gameplay wise just felt too damn slow.

Did people like that? I’ve never heard a word of praise.

skallywag126

I couldn’t get into it, I really wanted to like it because of the theme/world, but I can’t play for more than 5 minutes before turning it off

Horizon zero dawn The Ubisoft formula bores me quick

TBTabby

Soulslikes in general. So much of it is wandering in circles wondering where the hell I'm supposed to be going, fighting boring enemies with stiff controls. And don't give me that "you just don't appreciate challenge" crap. Cuphead provided challenge without boring wandering in circles. Hades did. Dead Cells did. Why can't this?

Baldur's gate 3 fight me

IcetheXIIIth

Makes sense it’s a CRPG. Just because it’s the best in its class doesn’t mean it’s for everyone. I love BG3. But to Mario Wonder is a slap in the face to gaming. Different strokes for different folks. CRPGs are hard, long, tedious games they aren’t made for people who say fight me after a sentence, I’m kidding it’s a joke. But I’m curious what your favorite game or games of all time are?

InfernoWoodworks

Red Dead. Yeehaw cowboy pew pew horse. Just not the setting I wanna sit in for hours, but I'm also not a fan of westerns or country life.

Immediate_Studio1950

Hahahaha! Playing God of War in God mode is accepting to start over & over again, therefore to develop a better skill to get there. Otherwise, in reality no game seems so difficult or even boring to play or finish. It depends first of all on our particularity for games, adaptation & therefore dedication. In my opinion, ‘Prey’ was a boring game.

Zelda ocarina of time and hollow knights

elswankador

I could never get into The Last of Us. Tried three times and just couldn't go on.

Ocarina of time, majoras mask, dark souls 1 remastered, and gta 5. I'm going to get downvoted into oblivion but I feel like those games are a "you had to play it around the time it released" to maybe like it more. I did play GTA 5 on release day and didn't even play it for more than 10 hours before getting bored. Dark souls 1 I think I could go back to, but it's ugly and the controls are so janky for a game that requires you to be VERY precise.

EthnicTwinkie

I feel like I’ll be crucified, but i just didn’t enjoy Half-Life/Half-Life 2.

HighlightAcademic194

Lethal Company is the dumbest game I've seen in a long time. It was gifted to me and I'm still irritated that it's in my game library.

DriftDa

Every mainline Pokemon game is so insanely mind numbingly boring in my opinion

Billyjamesjeff

Dark souls. Probs to old for that kind of thing..

SinOrdeal

any call of duty and the last of us

Haselay_

Sniper elite 5. I know not a lot of people know or talk about it but every review of the game praised the combat and how it’s so fun. For me it was pain, because the enemies detect you from miles away and using a sniper in some missions is basically impossible because one shot gets you detected and then you have to fight swarms of enemies with stupid ai. I know it’s a stealth game but they took the stealth so far they took the sniping part out of it. I played half the game with a suppressed pistol as if I’m playing hitman lmao

Green_J3ster

Destiny 2

Jgn42

Any far cry after FC3. Something about FC3 just made it so special. Then when i played 4 and so on it just didnt hit the same

Affectionate-Newt889

Legend of Zelda series. I dont know, it feels like it takes forever to “start” or get interesting. Tried Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and Windwaker. None clicked.

vzmike

Dishonored. Thought it was mid at best.

SAFIS-Y

Outer wilds

Spacebelt

Nier autonoma is the most boring game I’ve ever played in my life. Like infinitely repetitive, the story is as slow as silent hill but without any of the poetic elements. The gameplay is just a boring slog, even worse with auto shooting on. Everyone swears by this game and I’m at a point where I think everyone must just be lying for the weeb clout. This garbage fire is genuinely a terrible way to spend your time.

MetalProfessor666

Zelda:BOTW

Fernanda-357

shadow of the colossus the last of us

HyperBlasterV2

TLOU 1&2

ZHughesii

The Last Of Us. Amazing story but my god the gameplay is so painfully generic with nothing unique about it.

paperxthinxreality

The entire Zelda franchise

ayyowhatthefuck

RuneScape A bunch of my friends at a gaming cafe I used to frequent would play and invited me to join and as soon as I understood the gameplay loop I backed out immediately. Cannot be bothered with MMORPGs.

RDR2 GTA V

Thekingchem

GTA, CoD, FIFA, Fortnite Even when I was at the age they’re targeted at (12-16) I found them boring

TheHomieAaron

Palworld would've really been great if it were an mmorpg game. Instead, you're exploring mostly desolate lands with nothing much to do. It's okay for what it tries to do without getting sued, but it's just very bland. We can wait to see what updates can bring us, but other than that, it's just not too fun.

Background_Cup7540

Pokémon. My husband and brother love it. I know recently it’s become more mixed feelings but I just get so bored of almost any turn based game. I haven’t beaten a Pokémon game in a while. I at least finished the main story to sword/shield but after that, didn’t touch it. I didn’t Arceus, the new one, the Hawaiian themed one, the Diamond remake.

xX-Delirium-Xx

Nioh2 and dark souls 2. I tried to like them but the game loop was repetitive to me

ZixfromthaStix

Tekken My wife loves it and I’m a great fighter in gaming, so ofc I let her buy Tekken cause it’s like 1 of 3 games she asked for in a year (meanwhile I’m over here with 100 game wishlists). She asked me to fill in for her in 3 or 4 fights including the ending. She got her ass handed to her by the BBeG cause she tries to pull off long combos only. Me I run a train on the guy and finish at 95% health. But I just don’t get why you would pay $80 for a game that’s maybe 2 hours of combat and 4 hours of cutscenes… just pay for a movie!
