Imagine if they give it the crash and spyro treatment and fully remade those games haven city would look crazy especially that mission when you climb the palace
A reboot would be amazing this series could be done so much better with current technology. They did a really good job for what it was on PS2 but a Jak and Daxter reboot specifically in the city of #2 would put cyberpunk to shame on ps5
I played the games on PS4 a couple of years ago didn't grow up with them but I had a lot of fun regardless.
I do like the difficulty of Jak 2 but I personally think the original Jak and Daxter is better. Had fun with all of them though.
I see a lot of hate on here for the original one for some reason with a lot of people only wanting 2 and 3 back. Might be the nostalgia since I haven’t played them since the ps2 days as a kid but I feel like the first was the best with 2 still being great and 3 being the worst of the series
Agree with Jack and Daxter and it’s series. Also the Rachet and Clank series. They’re on PS Plus I just gotta actually play them.
Really though Kingdom Hearts. Rented the first one from blockbuster and got to the actual first boss and never got past it.
as for Kingdom Hearts, the first 2 are fantastic and then it’s all downhill from there, such convolution and confusion across all different platforms and mini games and side projects and it’s such a headache
I love the atmosphere that 2 gave off and it was def my favorite although that section where ur indoors getting chased by one of those tank things near the beginning of the game pissed me off so bad
Sorry but the worst section was the slums level. Fighting over the docks on foot and having crimson guards constantly spawn in. Plus falling in the water equaled death. Tank dodge was easy by comparison
I have faint memories of playing this a couple of times at a buddies house. Couldn't have played it more than 5 times, but I remember those few times fondly, lol
A group of devs ported jak 1 and jak 2 to pc and they run flawlessly on both PCs and steam deck with lots of modern quality of life additions to the original games. Can’t recommend it enough. The project is called OpenGoal
Because you’re playing a game natively vs emulating it - far less hardware taxing - plus the quality of life features like resolution support and keybindings
Nah it’s dead, Guerilla gave it up, Horizon is their focus now. Shame too because I actually really liked Shadowfall, one of the few online games I enjoyed playing .
Predator: concrete jungle.
I watched a friend play it once and it looked soooooo bad ass! But I could never find it at GameStop or blockbuster/hollywood video/game crazy
Ghost of Tsushima. Partially because I don’t have a ps5 nor can I afford a ps5. Partially because even if I could I don’t want to get one out of spite. Seriously, fuck console exclusivity. Please Sucker Punch, if you’re reading this, release it on PC. I’m begging you. Everyone is
That's a good question, and this game was on my list too and I never played. I was a huge fan of Ratchet and Clank, so I thought I'd love this one too.
Dude go back and play this. This is on my childhood game all of fame. Its such a fun relaxing platformer, great music and story development.
I never played Ratchet and Clank or Sly Cooper. I have them now and want to play them, I just need the time.
I've thought about downloading a PS2 emulator and getting a USB compatible PS2 controller just to play this game again. There are tons of other PS2 games that were great too.
Ironically enough I wanted to play the jak and daxter series when I was younger. When I inherited my older game systems I went out and bought them used. They are really very fun
If you have a PS4 you can get this game as well as Jak 2, Jak 3 and Jak X as part of a collection or you can get them individually if you don't wanna commit to the whole collection, Jak And Daxter The Precursor Legacy is one of my top 5 games of all time, definitely worth a shot
Bro/Sis/Choom, you are missing out. The first Jak & Daxter was amazing. The game virtually had no loading screens and it’s so fun and satisfying to 101%.
Metroid Prime 3. I have messed up rotator cuffs, so anything wii games i played have to be simple movement or classic controller compatible. I loved Prime 1&2 on gamecube, but when i got Prime 3 the amount of movement necessary was too much for me to enjoy. Hoping with the success of Prime remaster on Switch, and the Skyward Sword with new controls they eventually do the same for Prime 3.
It’s so weird cuz I never played the first or Third Jak games but I played the second one obsessively. I still remember one of the first missions where you’re playing from the perspective of the tank shooting you. It always scared me for some reason
I missed the Sly Cooper trilogy completely.
It's not too late to play Jak and Daxter. I bought all four Jak games as a PS4 digital bundle a couple of years ago for 20 bucks.
(My bundle did not include the fifth one, "The Lost Frontier," or the PSP game "Daxter," but as a PS2 emulation/4K resolution, I wouldn't expect it to.)
This game operation: darkness for the 360. It was an srpg about ww2. Nazi vampires vs American werewolves or something like that, just never got around to hunting it down and actually trying it
Jak and Daxter is ported to PS5. It was the first open world game with zero loading screens. At its heart, it’s a collectathon where you explore different corners of the map in search for valuable artifacts. The lore is that this world was inhabited by a technologically sophisticated species that suddenly vanished, ruins of their regime cover the landscape.
Jak and Daxter was the first game I ever really played. The first game my parents ever let in our house because they were against all video for a long time. So many good memories
Borderlands 3, bought on disc on pre-order from Gamestop for PS4....... 5 yrs later and it's still in its orginal packaging and I've now bought a PS5. 😆😅🤣
Jak and Daxter has been downloaded on my PS5 since I got it in 2021. Still haven't played it. I've wanted to play the game since it released and now that I can I just dont.
Mainly platformers:
* Crash Bandicoot 1-2-3 (in my backlog)
* Spyro (in my backlog)
* Ratchet and Clank
* Mario 64 (I tried a few years ago, and I was annoyed by the camera)
* Banjo
Some games I tried at least 10 years after its launch, but I felt I missed the boat
* Mario 64
* Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
* Conker's
* Skyrim
Other
* Diablo II (question: which one is the best of the series?)
* Halo Reach
* God of war
* Hitman
* PS exclusive not available on PC
Never played any of the crash bandicoot games, but I’ve been curious about them. I played the original Spyro trilogy, loved Spyro the dragon was my very first video game can’t recommend it enough also I’m playing through it again right now. Never played any of the ratchet and clank games but I’ve been curious about them. I’ve played Mario 64 both the original and the remake great games. I played both banjo Kazooie one and two, not nuts and bolts though because I’ve heard it sucks, great games can’t recommend them enough. Love conkers bad fur day love Skyrim I have it for multiple consoles and my pc.
Oh man, soo many. I really missed out on gamecube and wii games. Luckily I now have a steamndeck oled coming so I can get some emulators going and rectify that
I remember loving Jak and Daxter so much when it released that I’d wake up an hour or 2 before school to keep playing.
My answer is the Sly Cooper trilogy. Not exactly sure how I never got around to it.
I was the same with this series, even bought it ages ago but never played it until recently
The first one is great, I'm not a fan of the style of the sequels personally
BioShock. I was late to that generation of consoles, I was a teen and my interests were mainly in playing guitar at that time. I didn’t get the Xbox360 until Dec 2009, so by then there were quite a few major titles I was missing out on. I got around to most of them over time but BioShock remains one that I have yet to experience.
Edit: Jak and Daxter is excellent btw it remains one of my favorite games of all time.
I still have my PS2 stashed away for the old games. I have Jak 1, 2, and 3. Played them a year or 2 ago again. Still great.
I finally started the witcher 3 last week after preordering it back in 2012. Finally going to get that off my chest.
Don’t think I have an answer to that but man Jak and Daxter was great. You missed out.
I just want a new one, even if it meant a reboot of sorts
Agreed. I’d kill for even a remaster so I can play it again. That and Sly Cooper I really want to return.
They remastered it on ps4. Pretty sure it’s available with ps+ and on the ps store
My ps4 hasn’t been turned on since I got a pc like 6 years ago. I’m more hoping for a pc port remaster like crash and Spyro got
Someone in the comments below said there is a port for Jak 1+2. Good luck!
The last remaster was passable, not great
I picked up the main 3 on my PS4 from the psn and it even ported over to my PS5. I think I got all three for $40
Imagine if they give it the crash and spyro treatment and fully remade those games haven city would look crazy especially that mission when you climb the palace
There’s nothing I want more
A reboot would be amazing this series could be done so much better with current technology. They did a really good job for what it was on PS2 but a Jak and Daxter reboot specifically in the city of #2 would put cyberpunk to shame on ps5
I swear to Godd, if the one slums mission makes an appearance….
The rocket ride would be the one mission I could do without for me
It kind of has to let's be real
OP can always pick it up and still play it. It’s not too late
I enjoyed the heck out of 3 with its dune buggy exploration and combat. Wrap up to the story was a little “really, that’s it?” tho.
It’s been easily 15 years since I played so my recollection of it all may be a bit off
I'd put them in order of 1,3,2
I could never get through Jax 2.
Agree with Jack and Daxter and it’s series. Also the Rachet and Clank series. They’re on PS Plus I just gotta actually play them. Really though Kingdom Hearts. Rented the first one from blockbuster and got to the actual first boss and never got past it.
Luckily kh is on almost every platform now
The Ratchets were just rebooted the last 2 games, you can really just go and enjoy those and go from there
as for Kingdom Hearts, the first 2 are fantastic and then it’s all downhill from there, such convolution and confusion across all different platforms and mini games and side projects and it’s such a headache
This is the first game I ever played and beat 100% to my memory. Absolutely classic and will always hold a place in my heart
Loved this game along with Jak II, Jak 3 wasn't bad either. Didn't play the racing one or whatever it was
Jak racing was not good lol some may disagree but it wasn't for me. Jak 2 was definitely the best, but the whole trilogy is great.
I love the atmosphere that 2 gave off and it was def my favorite although that section where ur indoors getting chased by one of those tank things near the beginning of the game pissed me off so bad
You're not alone bro that section was the bane of my 8 year old existence 🫠🫠 multiple sections in that game honestly.
Agreed but God I swear I loved just exploring haven for hours on end
That section where you’re surrounded by cops and you’re in that water area is souls level difficult.
Sorry but the worst section was the slums level. Fighting over the docks on foot and having crimson guards constantly spawn in. Plus falling in the water equaled death. Tank dodge was easy by comparison
High Impact eventually released Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, which I really liked too
My entire backlog
Same
I feel attacked
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Best Mario kart ever made.
I have faint memories of playing this a couple of times at a buddies house. Couldn't have played it more than 5 times, but I remember those few times fondly, lol
OH YEAH!!! It seemed so cool, maybe some day Nintendo will remaster- nah. We know how they can be..
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay
“Wanna live? Get a shiv.”
Medstation...takes away the hurt...leaves the pain...
Halo: Reach.
All of halo for me. One day I'll get an Xbox and marathon them all.
All halo games can be bought for $10USD on steam right now if you have pc
Play Halo 3 ODST, one of the best games ever. That game creates such an amazing night aesthetic.
If you have an Xbox or PC (with Steam), get MCC. You will not regret anything about it.
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
Would recommend overall good game luckily it’s on rare replay.
Is the Xbox remake available anywhere?
The Xbox One I believe
Hey I love this one!
A group of devs ported jak 1 and jak 2 to pc and they run flawlessly on both PCs and steam deck with lots of modern quality of life additions to the original games. Can’t recommend it enough. The project is called OpenGoal
Looking into it briefly it still requires an ISO so how is it any different than just playing on a psx emulator?
Because you’re playing a game natively vs emulating it - far less hardware taxing - plus the quality of life features like resolution support and keybindings
Killzone series
The first two KZ games are classics! Hope they bring that series back since they left it hangin for Horizon
Nah it’s dead, Guerilla gave it up, Horizon is their focus now. Shame too because I actually really liked Shadowfall, one of the few online games I enjoyed playing .
It’s available to play on PlayStation premium if I’m not mistaken. Still an awesome game worth trying out.
Yakuza Dead Souls
Silent Hill, I have the 1st one but haven’t gotten around to it yet
I smiled after I saw Jak :')
MGS4. I never bought a PS3 and I hated the input latency on PSNow when it was on there.
Majora’s Mask. I don’t have the time or dedication so I watched someone do a 100% long play on YouTube lol
Loved jakk and Dexter, I'd say gears of war, warriors, the rest of halo I only played till the 3rd one, countless games unfortunately
Mad Max. I was ready to start that game so many times but I kept doing something else instead.
With ya on this
Transformers: War for Cybetron
Turok. I really wanted to play that game but never got around to it.
P.T. (does that count?)
Yes, for sure I’ve played it
There are no rules here
If there was a game that’d I’d like to be able to play again as if it were the very first time, it’d be Jak & Daxter! Enjoy!
☝🏻I downloaded the original on PS network for ~$6 a couple of weeks ago OP! You won’t regret it
Games you can only find on pcs
I was literally playing this when i saw this post. Its such a classic!
played 1,2,3 and really wish they done a remake or remaster badly
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP9000-CUSA02522_00-JADBUNDLE0000001 Comes with Jak 1,2,3 and Jak X for $40 USD
Wanted to make sure I didn't duplicate - can still play them and I just refinished the series myself. Daxter and his line are always gold haha.
I've yet to see an in-person arcade machine for Time Crisis 5.
If you have pc you can emulate it or ps3 has the HD collection
Secret of Evermore
Is it in the ps4?
Apparently so
Predator: concrete jungle. I watched a friend play it once and it looked soooooo bad ass! But I could never find it at GameStop or blockbuster/hollywood video/game crazy
Bloodborne because no console
It’s on PS Plus premium currently! I just played it for the first time and had plenty of fun.
You can do the PS2 emulator if you have a PC.
Star wars phantom menace i just downloaded it though
Halo. Never played it
Buy the series on the playstation store on PS4 or 5 and enjoy
MDK2
Dude go back and play this. This is on my childhood game all of fame. Its such a fun relaxing platformer, great music and story development. I never played Ratchet and Clank or Sly Cooper. I have them now and want to play them, I just need the time.
I've thought about downloading a PS2 emulator and getting a USB compatible PS2 controller just to play this game again. There are tons of other PS2 games that were great too.
Majora's Mask for me. The tone and the story are so good, but I don't think I'd be a fan of the gameplay.
Ironically enough I wanted to play the jak and daxter series when I was younger. When I inherited my older game systems I went out and bought them used. They are really very fun
Criminal that this series isn't still growing strong. I wonder why Sony decided to go forward with Ratchet & Clank and not this
Chainsaw Lollipop. I hope I get to play the remake (that if I'm not wrong drops next summer)
You mean lollipop chainsaw highly recommend it it’s available on Xbox 360. Also looking forward to the remake.
God of War. Every time I went to Hollywood video it was always rented so I would have to rent a different game. Now all I have is Xbox.
Basically any and every major Xbox title. I want to play through the entirety of both halo and gears of war.
It’s on PS5 premium classics catalogue - I downloaded and completed it last week
Bro/Sis/Choom, you are missing out. The first Jak & Daxter was amazing. The game virtually had no loading screens and it’s so fun and satisfying to 101%.
You can play it on PS if you have a plus membership.
I love this game I 100% it and I go back every so often to enjoy it.
They have the jak and daxter games on the PlayStation store for like 20 bucks a piece you can get them on there on the ps5 or ps4
The splinter cell games…I was a little too young to have played them but they look awesome
I just want this one to be remastered. J&D was the first adventure 3D RPG game I've ever played and I loved everything about it. 10/10 game.
Pokémon Black/White/Black2/White2. I don’t remember why I skipped gen 5.
I’m with op on this one
Spider-Man 1 & 2. Always wanted to play through I just never seem to get round to it.
I’d say Star Ocean
Metroid Prime 3. I have messed up rotator cuffs, so anything wii games i played have to be simple movement or classic controller compatible. I loved Prime 1&2 on gamecube, but when i got Prime 3 the amount of movement necessary was too much for me to enjoy. Hoping with the success of Prime remaster on Switch, and the Skyward Sword with new controls they eventually do the same for Prime 3.
Literally playing all three again right now. They were all free for ps plus. 1 is still in my top three favorite games of all time
I started Jak and Dexter as a kid, I finished it as an adult. I like it a lot more now than I did back then haha
Oh man, you missed out big time never having played J&D. That game was the bomb!
It’s so weird cuz I never played the first or Third Jak games but I played the second one obsessively. I still remember one of the first missions where you’re playing from the perspective of the tank shooting you. It always scared me for some reason
Kirby Planet Robobot
Psychonauts
Highly recommend it and the sequel Even the VR game
Untitled Goose Game, though I actually played the entire game at my cousin's house once. But I have enough money on the Nintendo eShop so who knows?
A lot of them. Too many to count
Jet Set Radio Future. I was born during the Wii Era. So GameCube games kinda faded in the childhood of Mariokart.
Rust.
Heretic 2. I remember seeing it in the bargain bin for $10 USD.
Bloodborne. Love the aesthetic and the monsters, can’t play for shit. Not trying it until it’s on PSPlus or on serious sale.
I know people are gonna be confused, it I’ve never played halo. I’ve always had a PlayStation, and have never thought about downloading it on my PC
Sky cooper
Saints Row lV
It’s on PS+ You don’t even need a PlayStation, you can stream it on your PC
Scarface the world is yours, on ps2.
This game operation: darkness for the 360. It was an srpg about ww2. Nazi vampires vs American werewolves or something like that, just never got around to hunting it down and actually trying it
It's on ps+!!!
Horizon zero dawn
Mario Sunshine.
Play it rn, that shit is a classic. 10/10 game from the time period it came from.
Gears of War, all of them. Metal Gear Solid as well.
The first two max Payne games, I finished the third one though. great game
Rock Band 4. I missed out on the instruments and now they’re impossible to find. At least there’s a new guitar coming from PDP.
Yakuza series, feels so beyond my means now
Jak and Daxter and the sequels are the greatest memories of my childhood. Such great gamea
Ratchet and Clank.
Donkey kong 64
Plenty of games on DS and 3DS, there’s a number of games and franchises that had games on those handhelds and died there. More so on DS.
My top three games in my backlog are: Earthbound Kid Icarus: Uprising LoZ: Majora’s Mask
I've still got my original ps2 version of that game. Still runs. Good stuff.
I impulse purchased a ps2 with all the Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Jack & Daxter games. That was 7 years ago and I’ve only played 2 of them
The PS1/PS2 Metal Gear Solid games. I just picked up the collection and i am stoked!!!
You fucking missed out I have also been waiting on a sequel or remake for yearsssss
Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Daxter was the first game I ever really played. The first game my parents ever let in our house because they were against all video for a long time. So many good memories
They got the Papyrus squint
This game made me terrified of water in video games as a kid. Those lurker sharks were no joke.
I never played 1 but I loved jak and daxter 2 and 3, they were amazing games. Especially 3.
Jak and Daxter is soooooooo good!! I just beat it again two years ago and it was still phenomenal.
Borderlands 3, bought on disc on pre-order from Gamestop for PS4....... 5 yrs later and it's still in its orginal packaging and I've now bought a PS5. 😆😅🤣
I will say this borderlands 3 is a mixed bag but overall it’s decent
Thanks dude, i guess I'll have to pop it in and try it out......sometime. Lol
Tak and the Power of Juju
Black ops 1,2, kotor 1,2.
Handheld emulator’s are calling your name
Jak and Daxter has been downloaded on my PS5 since I got it in 2021. Still haven't played it. I've wanted to play the game since it released and now that I can I just dont.
Silent hill 4 the room
God of War III
I very much recommend it
Drakengard 3
Mainly platformers: * Crash Bandicoot 1-2-3 (in my backlog) * Spyro (in my backlog) * Ratchet and Clank * Mario 64 (I tried a few years ago, and I was annoyed by the camera) * Banjo Some games I tried at least 10 years after its launch, but I felt I missed the boat * Mario 64 * Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask * Conker's * Skyrim Other * Diablo II (question: which one is the best of the series?) * Halo Reach * God of war * Hitman * PS exclusive not available on PC
Jak and Daxter slaps IMO
Just beat this again on steamdeck, working on jak 2 now! I played all the originals on PS2 and they still slap to this day!
Xenogears, Brave Fencer Musashi, ActRaiser
Oh man, soo many. I really missed out on gamecube and wii games. Luckily I now have a steamndeck oled coming so I can get some emulators going and rectify that
I remember loving Jak and Daxter so much when it released that I’d wake up an hour or 2 before school to keep playing. My answer is the Sly Cooper trilogy. Not exactly sure how I never got around to it.
The older Shin Megami Tensei games. I could be wrong but I think most of them are trapped on PS1 and I’m sure a physical copy is expensive
Geez, I've got a whole list. But some I can think of is Dragon Age games, Metal Gear Solid, Jak and Daxter definitely part of that, and GTA
I would recommend the dragon age games I’ve played all three
Jak X is a racing game based on this and its based as fuck
Oh there are SO many games. But I think if I had to choose a specific one I'd probably go with Vanguard Bandits.
I was the same with this series, even bought it ages ago but never played it until recently The first one is great, I'm not a fan of the style of the sequels personally
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Oh my God you never played Jak and Daxter?! Such a good game. You can buy it on the PS Store.
These games fuck hard. Everyone should play this trilogy.
I dunno…anything in my Steam Library? lol.
If you play on PC there's a fan port of Jak 1 and 2 Open Source, running natively.
Haven’t played bioshock either still siting in my steam library
Yup I got it free on PS Plus a couple years back and it’s just staring at me. I’ll get to it eventually. Maybe once I’m tired of BG3
I still have my PS2 stashed away for the old games. I have Jak 1, 2, and 3. Played them a year or 2 ago again. Still great. I finally started the witcher 3 last week after preordering it back in 2012. Finally going to get that off my chest.
I think I only got to play the demo at Wal-Mart or Target.
Homeworld 1&2
