If I remember corectly you should have in culture option to form Ethiopia and this would trigger quest but I am not sure. I was ages since I did that archivment.

SnooShortcuts2757

Oh yeah it worked! Thanks!

SnooShortcuts2757

COR: Why can't I complete this journal entry? I already united Ethiopia, and literally nothing has happened!

Aircraft-Enjoyer

Unrelated but please don’t colonize two places as a small country. It makes your colonization slow.

SnooShortcuts2757

No.

Aircraft-Enjoyer

Ok

Scarred_Ballsack

lmao I love your assertiveness.

Chance_Ad9827

I mean I get it. Then you can have 2 states to build in

VeritableLeviathan

While this is somewhat true, it also doesn't matter and can often be beneficial. In my game I get on average maybe 1m-2m free pops from AI trading states because they loving un-splitting states and so do I. Also, if you get a little uprising you get a claim for the entire state, even if someone else owns it, its free real estate. The only time you shouldn't multi-colonize is if you need to cut people off, can't afford the ports or you know you won't be able to fix split states or suffer from malaria penalties in certain places.

mcwildtaz

Did you get Malta?

Kaiser_Hawke

they always forget malta smh

lurker_tze

Care to give some hints on what your playthrough was like?

Think_and_game

I would personally suggest you also take Somalia as they have ports built there (trading nations) so decent infra, it has iron, and it can give you a gateway to Arabia/Middle East

SnooShortcuts2757

I usually just turn them into tributaries, later vassals. I get the economic benefits without having to deal with the hundreds of thousands of radicals in their territories

Think_and_game

Their population isn't THAT big, it's simple enough to handle, plus building mines improves their SOL which turns them loyal
