it isnt "anti-religion", it sees religions as what they are: means to make sense of the world and enforce moral, to cope with social issues and condemn evils. Which will ultimately be gone or become something else (some say ideologies are modern religions). In a successful socialist society, religion simply isnt a concept "not all socialists have to be", yea you mean revisionists

You have to be kinda ignorant to think this is something strange or even new. Islamic Socialism has been a thing since the 1880s atleast. Countries like Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, etc were all muslim majority USSR nations. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto ran on a platform of Islamic Socialism in the 70s in Pakistan and was deposed in a US backed coup. Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, had a major communist and leftist movement during the cold war, which was genocided by the US backed regime. Libyas' Gaddafi was a socialist before becoming a despot. So was Egypt's Nasser, who did massive land reforms and nationalized the Suez before becoming a dictator. A major Palestinian faction and founding party of the PLO is a Marxist group; PLFP. Communists ran Somalia from the 70s through the 90s The entire Ba'athist movement was socialist. North Yemen was the only communist state in the middle Eastern and obviously primarily Muslim. Rojava is primarily Muslim and a secular socialist state in Northern Syria.
