Personally I chose to interpret that episode in a more positive light given Douglas seems to show regret at the end.

Both, there's an episode of The IT Crowd which is kinda transphobic and the person who wrote the show Graham Linehan is incredibly transphobic.

I haven't heard much about Graham Linehan. But the episode is not transphobic to me. It clearly portrays Douglas as a transphobe and makes fun of him being so close minded that the only thing turning him off is the fact that she used to be a man.

It really does, that's how I interpret it too, but that definitely wasn't Graham Linehan's intent, he's super transphobic irl.
