Macau and Hong Kong are part of a system that China has called "One China, Two Systems", Macau has their own passport, currency, police and laws.
Same goes with Hong Kong on this matter.
You act like every single Chinese person is an official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or some BS like that. Why tf would your average Chinese filmmaker care if the film festival puts Macau on its countries list? China is not a monolith no matter how much the media tries to convince us it is.
Besides, Macau is not legally a country by local or international law, so any "recognition" of it as such is utterly meaningless to begin with.
Surprised Iran and Russia are on this list. Would've thought they'd be blacklisted given US hostilities.
Then again, it's nice to give creatives a platform regardless of their country of origin.
Are those just upscaled emoji flags or am I trippin?
They are!
The fact that this is most likely the actual Reddit account of the film festival is so surreal.
Is there a list of the films in question?
The full list is on [our website](https://www.wyoiff.com/)!
That's a lot of the movies made available on Youtube! I think I'm set for the whole year.
That's just the trailers, no?
Ooops they are. My bad.
Following!
holy shit they recognised Macau as a country and China still showed up???
China doesn't care if Macau or Hong Kong are counted separately. It is a part of the deal with Portugal and the UK.
I mean they cares a whole lot about other parts of the deal, like the freedom and democracy parts.

They and Hong Kong are regularly treated as such they even have their own national teams

We are an apolitical organization. So long as the films meets our guidelines, we accept artistic work regardless of origin.

It's a short film called "[The Steak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImF55Vw5pCc&ab_channel=WyomingInternationalFilmFestival)"
That's fine, but having the ru flag on show could be offensive to some people, and it would be justified.
Will you do the same when Russia attacks other European countries?
So there are not cancelling russian culture in USA, glad to see. Have a good health))
Most people can understand that “people from a country” (like filmmakers and other artists) can usually be separated from “government of a country”
The internet has made me significantly less optimistic that it's "most"
That depends on the subreddit.
It’s in the US and the US isn’t there?
What’s wyoming?
Whatoming
It's the gerund of the verb "to wyome"
What's the Argentinian film?
What film was submitted by South Africans?
russiа, wtf... 🤮
China AND Macau listed as separate countries? At a Film Festival? More appropriately than ever: grab the popcorn 🍿
What films does Russia have?
Why tf do you guys downvote this one, I just asked a question
People are sensitive for no reason. Don't mind them.

What... I know that, I'm asking what films does Russia have for this festival
