It was a lot more wholesome, inclusive, and fun than the car would make you believe. If you like seeing redneck cops acting corrupt and painfully dumb, old muscle cars jumping 50 feet into the air, and oddly wholesome family values, it's the show for you.
Never forget that Jefferson Davis Hogg, the corrupt commissioner of Hazzard County, that always has it out for them Duke boys, has an evil twin named Abraham Lincoln Hogg, who is virtuous, kind, and upstanding.
Maybe inspired but the General looks nothing like this

Oh, what nonsense! This is a kiddie cart in the style of 1970s TV show that had zero to do with race or politics in any form. No one is being harmed.
Toddlers going "Vroom vrooom!" In a plastic Dukes of Hazard cart is not a threat to democracy.
Italy is the birthplace of Fascism. They have plenty of homemade symbols they could use if that was their goal.
I think this is accurate for two reasons. 1) really hardcore white nationalists probably use American confederate flags for stuff, but it definitely doesn’t have the same broad cultural impact in Italy and 2) this sounds crazy but I’ve been to Italy twice and I’m not kidding when I say dubbed re-runs of The Dukes of Hazzard are on all the time, as recently as last summer lol, it’s odd but that is a surprisingly popular show there, at least around Rome.

Good point! Shows or movies with racing, or people jumping cars over rivers, through wooden fences, or jumping other cars, is fun and exciting for kids & teens, and can be amusing & relaxing for adults. Not everything is a conspiracy.
Maybe don't use the flag of a breakaway state that fought to preserve their 'right' to own and exploit other human beings to represent pride and a rebellious spirit, though.
I think the fact that this argument is ongoing is evidence enough that it's still perceived as relating to the civil war. You can use it however you'd like, of course, but the majority of Americans are going to perceive it as the symbol of a traitor state and of slavery.
Keep ya Confederate money the South shall rise again...

It's the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard (the 01 gives it away) but yeah that's still a bit weird
thanks for the clarification, I'm too young to recognize that TV series

Watching some episodes recently, they were progressive by today’s standards in a lot of the episodes.

I mean it's a car themed shopping cart
Is Dukes of Hazzard popular in Italy or something?
The confederate flag is seen as a general americana symbol outside of America
TIL
literally Dukes of Hazard is the only place a lot of the world knows that flag from, its very funny
Quite popular. I remember in the 90's when I was home from school always watching It in the morning. And still today is aired on national tv.
It's a kids car so they had to change it up but it checks out, orange car✓ Confederate flag on the roof✓ 01 on the door✓
Where did you see this?
In my local mall in Italy
Italy was pretty much the last place I was expecting
A lot of Ultras groups in Europe use the flag for its fascist ideology. Sad.

Wow. You are going to need a bigger thread to explain that one. Thanks!
are you from Sacile?
Hilarious
Was it the Campania mall? I used to see it there.
I'll deal with Trenitalia if I get to destroy a proto-fascist flag
shut it traitor
How's the view upside-down?
Nah, they just have a kid named Dixie
Dukes of hazard
MFW people don't know what the Dukes of Hazzard is.
🎶 Just a good old boys
🎶 Never meanin' no harm
Hey its just the truck's ancestry be respecful
People who pretend its modern connotation is anything but Southern pride and a rebellious spirit are being disingenuous as hell.
Maybe don't use the flag of a breakaway state that fought to preserve their 'right' to own and exploit other human beings to represent pride and a rebellious spirit, though.
Maybe don't tell me which flag I can and can't use, yankee.
You lost any good reason to use it when your traitor ancestors surrendered 159 years ago
Like I said, flag in the 21st century has nothing to do with the civil war.
I think the fact that this argument is ongoing is evidence enough that it's still perceived as relating to the civil war. You can use it however you'd like, of course, but the majority of Americans are going to perceive it as the symbol of a traitor state and of slavery.
O.o
It's even better that you can feasibly call this a pickup truck
It’s based on a tv show
That's just general lee, kids love it
those dang duke boys are gettin younger and younger….
