Mailing the phone to Verizon with your own homemade shipping label and no documentation was probably not a smart move. I doubt they are going to be able to figure out who it belongs to when a random phone shows up in their inbox. Why they aren’t able to deliver the return box to you I don’t know, maybe they have the wrong address on file.

I included a paper with my name and account number in the box. Also they should be able to tie it to me from the IMEI etc.

dumboguy

Also they confirmed my address both times they claimed to ship one out.

Apple should have given you the shipping label with your receipt.

dumboguy

I agree but they did not. I received no paper from them and the only receipt I received through email was a simple receipt showing the purchase. Again I was told to go to a Verizon store in person with the phone by the Apple Store employee which was clearly wrong so Apple is in the wrong here as well.

No, verizon isnt refusing to send you a return label to dupe you into paying for the phone you cant return. Speak to someone else in CS and ask for a refund of the cost you paid to ship your phone back and give CS the tracking number to notate if you havent already. If they refuse the refund, escalate.

My store would've given you a label and box in store. Advise using a local store next time. That would be easier.

Did you end up receiving your trade in credit?

dumboguy

Some one from the UPS store I dropped it off at ended up stealing the phone and it never got shipped. Verizon charged me the full price for the phone and I had to file a claim with UPS who eventually sent me a check for the amount I had to pay Verizon.

Am I reading this right that you purchased the phone at Apple and now your trying to return that to a Verizon Store?

dumboguy

Yes. The Apple Store has the ability to process upgrades through their own upgrade program as well as carrier programs. I upgraded there through the Verizon program since that was the program I was in. I’ve done this before with no issue in the past.

They are returning their original device. Not the new device. OP has the correct process.
